We have recently moved and my daughter has started at a new childcare centre. She has made a few friends already but there’s one name we can’t work out what she is trying to tell us! She’s pretty clear in her dictation but it’s just a name unfamiliar to either of us!
This child is a girl and my daughter is pronouncing the name as ‘Grow-stoff’. Is there a name that she could mean?

I’d honestly recommend asking at the childcare centre 
I can’t really think of anything besides Gweneth/Gwyneth or Goruth (not sure if spelling is right, but I knew someone with the name)

I actually know a girl called [name_f]Gro[/name_f], so maybe something [name_f]Gro[/name_f]- [name_f]Stephanie[/name_f], Gro-Sophia… I think asking the day centre is probably the best idea. 
Hmm it sounds like maybe she’s misheard it a bit…I really can’t think of anything. Please do tell us when you figure it out!!

This a great guess I wouldn’t have come up with!! Maybe she’s called Christophine or Kristoffa or another feminine version and somehow it got shortened? Or maybe just really obsessed with Frozen and likes to go by Kristoff 
So we asked the educators and they had no idea who this child is

I still recommend to find out for sure - I randomly remembered a case where some parents thought their kids had an imaginary friend in kindergarten, but it was actually a very manipulative creepy guy (this kindergarten had a garden with a fence and that creep was speaking to the kids from outside, behind the bushes). Also a few criminal cases where some kindergarten worker (a handyman etc) turned out be a creep who told a child he was also a child etc (I work in a legal system so I am almost trained to be paranoid …)
