I’ve loved sitting back and observing these posts, but I’m finally going to write my own. I am completely lacking in a favorite name, which should be fine because I’m not expecting any time soon. But it’s not fine!! I need to find a favorite GIRLS name so I can rest at night. I’m sure on this website, you guys will understand. Here are some names I like:
Girls: (All over the map- I don’t [name]LOVE[/name] any, and the ones I do love, I can’t use for various reasons)
[name]Luca[/name]- I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Luca[/name], yes for a girl, but can’t use it. I’m heartbroken
[name]Violet[/name]- getting so popular
[name]Matilda[/name]- can’t commit
[name]Ava[/name]/[name]Eva[/name]/[name]Evie[/name]- popularity
[name]Charlotte[/name]- again
[name]Sawyer[/name]- most of the girls I know with unisex names are adorable, but I’m not sold on one
[name]Claire[/name]- meh
[name]Isobel[/name]- popular
[name]Lila[/name]- popular
[name]Ruby[/name]-can picture THE CUSTEST child, can’t picture an adult
[name]Luciana[/name]- I’m assuming it would always be mispronounced (I like the Italian way, but the baby will have a hispanic last name. Recipe for confusion)
[name]Emmeline[/name]- last name starts with N…
Family names I like and could use… or derivatives of (as middles?)
[name]Elizabeth[/name]
[name]Katherine[/name]
[name]Rose[/name]
[name]Eleanor[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name]
[name]Alexander[/name] (dra, dria)
I think the ideal “perfect name” will have to have some sort of meaning associated with it- whether that’s its literal meaning or something personal. (place I’ve been, family member, author, character, culture, etc…) But I think I can make the name have meaning if I love it enough- so these suggestions are fantastic, and some of them I can already derive personal meanings from. ([name]Nora[/name], [name]Blakely[/name], [name]Harper[/name]).
Thanks, [name]Jill[/name]!
PS- thank you! [name]Rose[/name] is mine and my mom’s middle name- I would highly consider passing it on.
Thanks! I like [name]Lilia[/name], [name]Stella[/name], and [name]Zoe[/name] from bb and [name]Lucia[/name], [name]Paloma[/name], and [name]Vivia[/name] from jill.
[name]Do[/name] you think I’m getting too exotic? I have fair skin, dark blonde hair, and hazel eyes, and the dad-to-be has dark hair, light olive skin, and green eyes. But the last name is hispanic, so I’m wondering if it would be strange for this baby to have an exotic, latin sounding first name ([name]Paloma[/name] or [name]Lucia[/name]) to go with her last name, but not really look the part.
