Ok, to set the stage, my husband and I have very different ways of deciding on things. I must carefully consider every single choice out there before I can decide, whereas he will pick the first option that he comes across that he likes and become attached to that. Therefore, we’ve decided it would be best for me to come up with a list of the names I like first before running any by him, and then hopefully one of those names will be one that he likes.
The problem is that there are only two names I’m really in love with, and I’m afraid he might not like either.

I’m in love with:
[name_f]Aurora[/name_f] (possible middle name [name_f]Beth[/name_f])
[name_f]Deirdre[/name_f] (possible middle name [name_f]Violet[/name_f], [name_f]Rose[/name_f], or [name_f]Beth[/name_f])
I’m fond of:
[name_f]April[/name_f] (possible middle name [name_f]Aurora[/name_f])
[name_f]Rose[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosalind[/name_f]
[name_f]Bronwen[/name_f]
Other names I’ve considered but am not in love with:
I really like but would probably only use as a middle name:
[name_u]Meredith[/name_u]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]
Based on all this, does anyone have suggestions that I may have missed that you think I would like? I would really like to find a couple more names I can love so there’s a better chance my husband will agree to one of them!
I love [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] [name_f]Beth[/name_f]! That sounds so lovely. Not very sure of [name_f]Deirdre[/name_f], to be honest, how it’s spelled is just lackluster and slightly confusing.
Perhaps [name_f]Amelia[/name_f], [name_f]Audrey[/name_f], [name_f]Cassandra[/name_f], [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f], [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], [name_f]Maeve[/name_f], [name_f]Natalie[/name_f], [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], [name_f]Ruth[/name_f], [name_f]Valerie[/name_f], [name_f]Vanessa[/name_f] or [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] would fit. Good luck!
I have very similar guide lines as you so hopefully I can add some options.
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f]
[name_f]Clarissa[/name_f]
[name_f]Nina[/name_f]
[name_f]Helena[/name_f]
[name_f]Calla[/name_f]
[name_f]Margo[/name_f]
[name_f]Camille[/name_f]
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucille[/name_f]
[name_u]Simone[/name_u]
[name_f]Danica[/name_f]
[name_f]Colette[/name_f]
[name_f]Eloise[/name_f]
Thanks for the suggestions so far! Here are the ones that I find most appealing:
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] - I do like this one, but not quite enough, especially since it seems to be pretty popular now
[name_f]Cassandra[/name_f] - might have considered this one if I didn’t have a cousin with the name already
[name_f]Guinevere[/name_f] - really lovely name, I just think it’s probably a little too close to my name. Maybe I should consider it more, though.
[name_f]Penelope[/name_f] - this is one I like, not sure about the nickname [name_u]Penny[/name_u] though
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f] - pretty, though I’m a little hesitant to have yet another name that starts with the “[name_f]El[/name_f]” sound, and my cousin has a little girl named [name_f]Elliana[/name_f], so there’s already a little [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] in the family
[name_f]Clarissa[/name_f] - I like the sound of this name, just hard not to think of “[name_f]Clarissa[/name_f] explains it all” - maybe I’m just being silly
[name_f]Danica[/name_f] - interesting, I’ll have to think about this one. Would be a little concerned with pronunciation though
[name_f]Colette[/name_f] - pretty name, but unfortunately have an association with the girl an ex-boyfriend dated after me
[name_f]Eloise[/name_f] - I do like the name, though don’t really like that it sounds so close to “[name_f]Louise[/name_f]” (which I find ugly), plus the “[name_f]El[/name_f]” sound like [name_f]Elodie[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] - I like this one, but I don’t know if I should use it since a friend had a duck named this (it’s only been a couple years since it was mauled and killed by a dog) - though again, maybe that’s just me being silly
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f] - I loved this before Shrek. Also, I named a fish this in college.
[name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] - this was a runner-up to [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] before my sister told me she liked [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] but pronounced it completely differently than how I had imagined
[name_f]Arwen[/name_f] - pretty, but maybe a little too [name_m]Lord[/name_m] of the Rings for me
dragonqueen - the spelling of [name_f]Deirdre[/name_f] is one reason I’m afraid my husband won’t like it, because it isn’t super easy to remember. I’m not sure what you mean by the spelling being lackluster, but I think this is the most common and accepted way to spell it. I’m not sure why I love this name so much - probably the Gaelic background (my mom’s side of the family is Scottish & Irish) with a spelling that isn’t as hard to pronounce as a lot of other Gaelic names. Also I knew a girl in college with the name and she was pretty cool - I probably even thought the name was weird the first time I heard it until I got used to it.
