Help me find a home for Maria or Clara!

I’ve recently begun sponsoring a little girl in [name_u]Brazil[/name_u]–her name is [name_f]Maria[/name_f] [name_f]Clara[/name_f]–and I’m looking for a way to honor her on my list. It may seem like a silly thing to do, but sponsoring kids like her is something I’ve dreamed of doing since I was a teenager, and I always knew that once I did sponsor them, they’d be like family, and by the time I was keeping name lists, I knew I’d want to honor them on my lists, too. I’ve already found ways to honor the first two girls I sponsor ([name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] for Is@bel Aru.my and [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] [name_f]Sabrina[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f] for S@brina), so I’d rather not leave [name_f]Maria[/name_f] [name_f]Clara[/name_f] out. The problem is, I like [name_f]Mary[/name_f] and [name_f]Claire[/name_f] much more than I like [name_f]Maria[/name_f] and [name_f]Clara[/name_f], but I’d like to keep the names as close as possible. If I can’t find a single combo I want to commit to, I’ll revisit the [name_f]Mary[/name_f]/[name_f]Claire[/name_f] thing, but for now I’d like to stick to [name_f]Maria[/name_f] and [name_f]Clara[/name_f].

Any ideas for a combo? So far I’ve been tossing these around:

[name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Plum[/name_f] “Liesey” (I actually [name_f]ADORE[/name_f] this one, and I love [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] nn Liesey, but I’m not sure I can see me using this combo, if that makes sense.
[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] [name_f]Sofia[/name_f] [name_f]Clara[/name_f] (I’m tossing about some combination of [name_f]Sofia[/name_f], [name_f]Clara[/name_f], [name_f]Edith[/name_f], and [name_f]Plum[/name_f] for [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f], although I’m not sure I like ANY of them enough to use? I’m leaning toward either [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] [name_f]Sofia[/name_f] [name_f]Edith[/name_f] or [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] [name_f]Edith[/name_f] [name_f]Plum[/name_f], and either one of those doesn’t honor [name_f]Maria[/name_f] [name_f]Clara[/name_f], unfortunately)
[name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Maria[/name_f] (I also [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f], but I’m attempting to keep to [name_f]Maria[/name_f] or [name_f]Clara[/name_f], as I said, and I don’t like [name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Clara[/name_f] so much)

HERE is my name list atm–it’s rather in shambles, but if you’re looking for my style, it probably encompasses it pretty well.

ETA: I’m opening it up to Mary (mn only), Maria, Clara, or Claire, since I seem stuck with Maria and Clara and I love Mary and Claire lots and lots. Eleanor Pasqualina Mary is my favorite with Mary, and I’m planning on adding Claire as a FN to my list, if only I could find a combo I love (which I haven’t yet. le sigh). I’m open to any Mary or Claire suggestions, too! Thank you!

Okay, now that that’s out of the way. Hmm. I really like [name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Maria[/name_f], and I don’t usually like [name_f]Verity[/name_f] much, so that’s a good sign.

[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] [name_f]Sofia[/name_f] [name_f]Clara[/name_f] is absolutely beautiful! I do not like [name_f]Edith[/name_f] at all, and [name_f]Plum[/name_f] is strange to me as a name, although I have heard of it used before in the middle.

This is not helping with adding [name_f]Maria[/name_f] or [name_f]Clara[/name_f] to a combo but I would absolutely adore [name_f]Sofia[/name_f] [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Plum[/name_f]. I might have to add [name_f]Sofia[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Plum[/name_f] and [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Plum[/name_f] to my list.

@boyandgirl - thanks! If anything, I feel like [name_f]Mary[/name_f]'s more of a MN for me, and I could see using [name_f]Claire[/name_f] as either a first or middle. I may consider [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] Pasqualina [name_f]Mary[/name_f] or [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] Pasqualina [name_f]Claire[/name_f] or [name_f]Claire[/name_f] Pasqualina [name_f]Mary[/name_f], though! I actually love the idea of Pasqualina [name_f]Mary[/name_f] as a double middle. I’m honestly about ready to open up [name_f]Mary[/name_f] and [name_f]Claire[/name_f] to honor her, because I go through spurts of liking [name_f]Maria[/name_f], but, in general, I’m vastly pro-[name_f]Claire[/name_f] and pro-[name_f]Mary[/name_f]. I can’t see myself ever using [name_f]Clara[/name_f], really, which is why it’s hard for me to get into [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Plum[/name_f], even, which I think is darling.

@[name_f]Jenni[/name_f] - thanks! I like [name_f]Plum[/name_f] because my mom calls me her sugar plum (still, lol). Plus, my grandma and I shared a love for the color purple, so I like how [name_f]Plum[/name_f] ties the three of us together. [name_f]Edith[/name_f] was my great-grandma’s name, and I’d like to include it somewhere, but I’m not sure where. I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, though!

I had thought that if I got the chance to sponsor her, that would be my combo–I love it a lot!–but I was just thinking about it, and I can’t imagine me ever having a daughter with that name. I’m not even sure I can figure out why, other than that I can’t see me with a [name_f]Clara[/name_f]. I’m keeping [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Plum[/name_f] as my back-up option for now. :slight_smile:

I do like it a lot, though), and I do like [name_f]Sofia[/name_f] [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Plum[/name_f] a lot! I’ll give it some thought.

Anyone else want to jump in? I think I’m open to using [name_f]Mary[/name_f] or [name_f]Claire[/name_f] in some way (which opens it up vastly, because [name_f]Claire[/name_f]'s a family name, anyhow!). I’m open to any great [name_f]Clara[/name_f], [name_f]Maria[/name_f], [name_f]Mary[/name_f] (mn only) or [name_f]Claire[/name_f] combos that anyone has!
