I’m a Korean mother living in the US.
I want my girl to have a good simple name that goes with her Korean name, JISU [name_u]KIM[/name_u].
My husband and I’m thinking of [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] or [name_f]Gia[/name_f], but what do you think?
Is it too uncommon or hard to pronounce? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you have any ideas?
Would JISU be the middle name? If so I’d go with a name that didn’t also have the “j” sound personally because I’m not a fan of alliteration like that.

I love the name [name_f]Gemma[/name_f]! It’s not terribly common in the U.S., but I think it is recognizable. It is more common in [name_m]Britain[/name_m] than the U.S. but I would love to hear more of it here. I suppose that occasionally someone might try to pronounce it with a hard g, but I don’t think this would be much of a problem.
I really like [name_f]Gemma[/name_f], but here some other possibilities that strike me as pretty mainstream and well-known:
