Augusta is probably my favorite girl name of all time, and there’s pretty decent chance it will be the name we choose if we ever have a daughter. However, I can never seem to settle on the combo.
Here are my favorite combos that are in the table, and my reasons for hesitation:
Augusta Maeve: love the flow and feel of this combo, but Maeve is feeling a little stale to me.
Augusta Margot: same as above, Margot is a long time favorite but not as exciting to me right now.
Augusta Clementine: maybe too long? Also, I have a hard time pairing Augusta with word names, even though Augusta itself is not a word. I just don’t want the combo to sound like a description of something
Augusta Sunday: see above
Augusta Delphine: Again, too long? Also, Delphine is pretty high up on my first name list as well, so I’m hesitant to put it in the middle name slot, since we will hopefully have more than one child.
Other combos I’ve considered that I’m not 100% convinced on for various reasons:
Augusta Josephine, Augusta Marianne (DH is not a fan of Marianne), Augusta Cosette, Augusta Maxine, Augusta Valentine
I’d love the help of the berries to either convince me on one (or multiple) of these combos, or suggest something even better!

i love Augusta! i agree that it might be best to stay away from word names, because to me it starts to sound like “a gust of word.” of your combos, my favourites is probably Augusta Maeve, with Augusta Margot as a close second! i don’t think that Maeve is stale at all - it’s short, sweet, and spunky, and perfectly balances out the slightly more classic, frilly Augusta.

Based on that, maybe [name_f]Augusta[/name_f] [name_f]Mabel[/name_f], [name_f]Augusta[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f] or simply [name_f]Augusta[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] are to your liking?
I have (Mabel) [name_f]Augusta[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f] on my long list and really love the summery and floral vibe of [name_f]Augusta[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f].
For a bit of a french flair, maybe [name_f]Augusta[/name_f] Eloise/Heloise or [name_f]Augusta[/name_f] [name_f]Cecile[/name_f] (se-SEEL)?

I second @Apollonia1 's suggestion of [name_f]Augusta[/name_f] [name_u]Florentine[/name_u] and @OpheliaFlora 's [name_f]Augusta[/name_f] Eloise/Heloise
Out of your combos, I love [name_f]Augusta[/name_f] [name_f]Margot[/name_f]! It’s absolutely adorable. I’d suggest keeping [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] for later, just in case.

[name_f]My[/name_f] favourite is definitely [name_f]Augusta[/name_f] [name_f]Delphine[/name_f]! Elegant and refined, and has a lovely sound to it. I understand your hesitation, but I wouldn’t discount [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] on account of the chance of having another daughter. You could have all boys after, you never know! At least this way, you know the two names you love the most will be used, and you won’t regret giving her a middle name you only partially love.
[name_f]My[/name_f] second favourite would be [name_f]Augusta[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]. It’s sophisticated and classic. [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] is a beautiful name!
I still like all the others - they all could work! The only name I’m not a big fan of is [name_f]Augusta[/name_f] [name_f]Cosette[/name_f] - I think it sounds a little bit clunky/old-fashioned.
