Help me make these tomboyish names girly!

[name_f]My[/name_f] boyfriends current favorites are [name_u]Blakely[/name_u], [name_f]Brynn[/name_f], [name_u]Emerson[/name_u], and [name_u]Emery[/name_u] for girls. All of those feel very tomboyish to me. So I’d love to hear some ideas on how to feminize them! So far I really like [name_u]Emerson[/name_u] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] and [name_u]Emery[/name_u] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]. Any other suggestions?

[name_u]Emerson[/name_u] and [name_u]Emery[/name_u] are originally boy names so the best way to make them girly would probably just be to pick a true girls name. Maybe something like [name_f]Emma[/name_f], [name_f]Emily[/name_f], [name_f]Emilia[/name_f]. Those sound similar. I suppose pairing them with a feminine middle name helps the full name to be more girly, but it doesn’t do much for the actual first name. I’m not sure if [name_u]Blakely[/name_u] is an original boy name too but you could also choose something like [name_u]Brinley[/name_u] or [name_f]Britney[/name_f] or [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] for a similar feel. [name_f]Brynn[/name_f] is a solid, simple girls name. Other “tomboy” but true girls names your guy might like could be names such as [name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_f]Tessa[/name_f], [name_f]Samantha[/name_f] ([name_u]Sam[/name_u]), [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] ([name_u]Alex[/name_u]), [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] ([name_u]Charlie[/name_u]) etc.

Instead of [name_u]Emerson[/name_u]/[name_u]Emery[/name_u]: [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f], [name_u]Everly[/name_u], [name_f]Elodie[/name_f], [name_f]Amelie[/name_f]
Instead of [name_u]Blakely[/name_u]: [name_f]Bethany[/name_f], [name_f]Birdie[/name_f], [name_u]Delaney[/name_u]
Instead of [name_f]Brynn[/name_f]: [name_f]Brenna[/name_f], [name_f]Bronwen[/name_f], [name_u]Wren[/name_u] (although technically unisex as well, I think it’s much softer), [name_f]Bridget[/name_f]

You’re looking for girly middles, correct? If so, without using the ones in your signature :

[name_u]Emery[/name_u] [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f]
[name_u]Emery[/name_u] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]

I love [name_u]Emery[/name_u] and don’t see it as tomboyish but others might. The main reason I’m reluctant to use [name_u]Emery[/name_u] myself is I think it would get confused with [name_f]Emily[/name_f] a lot. I don’t personally like [name_f]Emily[/name_f] but it may be a good option if you like it. The other similar name I love is [name_f]Ebony[/name_f].

Hmm…
[name_u]Blakely[/name_u] [name_f]Sophia[/name_f]
[name_u]Blakely[/name_u] [name_f]Francesca[/name_f]
[name_u]Blakely[/name_u] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]

[name_u]Emerson[/name_u] [name_f]Kate[/name_f]
[name_u]Emerson[/name_u] [name_f]Laura[/name_f]
[name_u]Emerson[/name_u] [name_f]Violet[/name_f]

[name_u]Emery[/name_u] [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]
[name_u]Emery[/name_u] [name_f]Christina[/name_f]
[name_u]Emery[/name_u] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]
[name_u]Emery[/name_u] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]

I do like [name_u]Emerson[/name_u] [name_f]Jane[/name_f].

: )

[name_u]Blakely[/name_u] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]
[name_f]Brynn[/name_f] [name_f]Eloise[/name_f]
[name_u]Emerson[/name_u] [name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
[name_u]Emery[/name_u] [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f]

What about [name_u]Ellery[/name_u] or [name_f]Ellerie[/name_f]? It’s a legitimate medieval girls name — an English form of [name_f]Eulalie[/name_f] —*but it has the trendy surname vibe your boyfriend seems to like.

I like the idea of using a double name to feminize your choices. [name_u]Emery[/name_u]-[name_f]Jane[/name_f] is pretty.

Some ideas:
[name_u]Emery[/name_u]/[name_u]Emerson[/name_u] —[name_f]Emer[/name_f], [name_u]Ember[/name_u], [name_f]Emblyn[/name_f] (Cornish form of [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]), [name_f]Esme[/name_f], Esmée, [name_f]Emeny[/name_f] (another rare medieval name), [name_f]Elodie[/name_f].
[name_u]Blakely[/name_u] —
[name_f]Blythe[/name_f], [name_u]Lake[/name_u], [name_f]Bryony[/name_f], Breeshey
[name_f]Brynn[/name_f] - [name_f]Brynna[/name_f], [name_f]Brielle[/name_f], [name_f]Branwen[/name_f], [name_f]Bronwen[/name_f], Briseis

[name_f]Brynn[/name_f] is all right, but I’d consider [name_f]Branwen[/name_f], [name_f]Bryony[/name_f], or Betony. [name_f]Bryony[/name_f] is actually a pretty nice mix of the sounds of [name_f]Brynn[/name_f] and [name_u]Emery[/name_u] while not being as masculine as either. [name_f]Bryony[/name_f] and Betony are also not-too-sugary wildflower names.

I might swap [name_u]Emerson[/name_u] for [name_f]Emerald[/name_f] or [name_u]Ember[/name_u] - not traditional girly names, but not as masculine surname-ish as [name_u]Emerson[/name_u]? Honestly, I still like [name_f]Emily[/name_f], but it may be too girly for your other half? Maybe he’d like [name_f]Amity[/name_f]?
