Help me name my 2nd boxer puppy! :)

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone! Need help naming our fur-baby, a female boxer puppy that we are bringing home next month. Looking for a strong, short female/unisex name that will go with her boxer brother [name_m]Bodhi[/name_m] (which means “enlightenment”). I tend to like people names for pets and looking for something kind of unusual.

On my (not-so-short) list:
Brixby, [name_u]Aspen[/name_u], [name_m]Basil[/name_m], [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f], [name_m]Archie[/name_m], Mazzy, [name_u]Arlo[/name_u], [name_f]Freya[/name_f], [name_f]Nica[/name_f], [name_f]Athena[/name_f], [name_f]Cleo[/name_f], Rylo, [name_f]Bessie[/name_f], [name_f]Minka[/name_f], [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] (Prim), [name_f]Rumi[/name_f], [name_f]Fiona[/name_f], [name_u]Brighton[/name_u]

A lot of the names above I love but don’t seem to go with [name_m]Bodhi[/name_m]. Let me know what you think of my picks so far and if you have any other suggestions, I would love to hear them!

Of your list I think [name_f]Freya[/name_f] & [name_f]Minka[/name_f] match [name_m]Bodhi[/name_m] really well, particularly [name_f]Freya[/name_f], and I think they’re both great names!

Here are some other ideas for you:

[name_u]Easton[/name_u]
[name_f]Flora[/name_f]
[name_f]Florence[/name_f]

[name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Willa[/name_f]

I feel pulled two ways. Boxers are adorable puppies with expressive, endearing faces. The right name can capture that charm – and I love feminine and sweet for them. On your list I like [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] and [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] very much, but like you, I am not sure they go with the spiritual and faintly exotic [name_m]Bodhi[/name_m]. If you love any of your choices – use it. I doubt you will regret that your sib set is not a perfect match.

I also like many on the list above, especially [name_f]Luna[/name_f] and [name_f]Cadence[/name_f] (the spelling I would use).

From the list blog post I shared, I like [name_f]Dharma[/name_f], [name_u]Zen[/name_u], and especially [name_f]Lotus[/name_f]!

I think any of the many names that trace back to light would work for both a match for [name_m]Bodhi[/name_m] and that Boxer appeal. [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] or her many sisters and cousins would be fine.

P.S. – for some reason [name_m]Bodhi[/name_m] and [name_u]Aspen[/name_u] really work together for me. From your list that is probably the one I would go with.

Sorry I didn’t organize my posts better! I also love Pi – and for some reason that abstract concept seems a nice balance to the spiritual [name_m]Bodhi[/name_m]. If [name_m]JUST[/name_m] Pi seems a bit abrupt, you could go with [name_u]Piper[/name_u] for her call name.

I had a boxer named Bouncer. It was a perfect name because of the way boxers bounce around and twist their butts.

I think [name_f]Freya[/name_f] goes really well with [name_m]Bodhi[/name_m]!
