Help me name my baby

Hello everyone!
My name is [name_f]Zara[/name_f] and my husband and I are expecting our first child. Last name starts with H.
Please give your thought on the current baby name and middle name list. We are not sure if baby is a boy or girl just yet! I like names that are simple, easy to spell/pronounce and names that are a little different.
Thank you!!! please feel free to give suggestions as well!

We have very similar aesthetics! I like shorter names, easy to spell and pronounce, and are a little different.

We are pregnant with our second girl right now. Our first is [name_f]Nova[/name_f] and this next one will be [name_f]Cleo[/name_f]. [name_m]Feel[/name_m] free to love them and use them!

From your lists, I like…

[name_f]Isla[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]

[name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilah[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]

None of the boys are to my taste but the ones I like a little are [name_m]Leo[/name_m] and [name_m]Dax[/name_m].

Here are some I had on my lists before choosing [name_f]Nova[/name_f] and [name_f]Cleo[/name_f].

[name_u]Avery[/name_u]
[name_u]Ellis[/name_u]
[name_u]River[/name_u]

Also, with both my girls our list totally, changed once we found out gender. It was funny…I don’t know why but it became much more real and none of the names felt right suddenly. Keep that in mind! Of course, I could just be weird.

For girls, my favorite is Liv Claire! Liv is unique yet familiar and just so sweet.
Second favorite is Ivy Ann.
I also love love love the previous poster’s suggestions! I’d add Rhea, Gaia, Mira, Myra, June, Lola, Pearl, Estelle, Rosa, Ruth, Nina, Lena, Lainey, Nell, Dove, Wren, Maisie and Daisy
For boys I love Joey as a first name, and Max is nice too. Joey Mason sounds cool as a combo!

Thank you for the suggestions ladies!!! [name_u]Love[/name_u] these!!!

My daughter who was born in [name_u]August[/name_u] of this year and was almost [name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f]. We picked a different middle name. We live in the south where [name_f]Nora[/name_f] isn’t hugely popular. If you live in the Midwest or north I would check the ssn website to see how popular it is in your state. There are some states where it is in top 10, if that is important to you.
I think [name_f]Stella[/name_f], lilah, and [name_f]Isla[/name_f] are great less popular choices.

My favourites on your list are [name_f]Liv[/name_f] and [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] and a girl, and [name_u]Max[/name_u] and [name_m]Jake[/name_m] for a boy! Best wishes.

My favorites are [name_f]Lilah[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_f]Ann[/name_f], [name_m]Leo[/name_m], and [name_u]Owen[/name_u].

Hello, [name_f]Zara[/name_f]! Congratulations on your baby

My personal favourite from your list is [name_f]Isla[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f], it sounds so sweet and feminine but confident and a bit sassy as well. I also like [name_f]Liv[/name_f], it’s unusual and fun, a touch exotic if pronounced “leev”, but not too unfamiliar. I don’t like how it sounds with [name_f]Claire[/name_f] though, two one-syllable names in a row is a bit choppy.

If you want a name that’s not too common, [name_f]Liv[/name_f] and [name_f]Stella[/name_f] are your best bets for girls. [name_f]Lily[/name_f] and [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] are very popular right now; [name_u]Riley[/name_u], [name_f]Nora[/name_f] and [name_f]Isla[/name_f] relatively so. [name_m]Jett[/name_m] and [name_m]Dax[/name_m] are probably the most unusual from your boys’ names; [name_u]Mason[/name_u], [name_m]Leo[/name_m] and [name_u]Owen[/name_u] are very popular. You can check where a name ranks here: https://www.behindthename.com/ It can vary by area too though, so you might want to ask teachers you know or friends with kids.

[name_f]Lilah[/name_f] would probably cause confusion with spelling- is it [name_f]Lila[/name_f], [name_f]Lilah[/name_f] or even [name_f]Lyla[/name_f]? And I can imagine a lot of people thinking [name_m]Jett[/name_m] is spelled [name_u]Jet[/name_u], like a jet plane.

My favourites from your list are [name_f]Lily[/name_f], [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] and [name_f]Lilah[/name_f]. From your boys list I love [name_m]Leo[/name_m] and [name_u]Max[/name_u].

I would suggest not having a vowel starting middle after a vowel or H ending first

  • eg Lilah Ann — it means your mouth is open too much when saying it!

Nicer to have a consonant start after vowel / H ending.

I am off the cute L names like Leo, Lilah and Lily and would definitely go for something stronger like Liv (with longer middle), Stella, Ivy, Isla (though I like Iona, Zelda or Orla better than Isla at the mo). Owen or Max - or Hugh, Zach, Jude…

Great feedback ladies!!! I never thought about that! Any more suggestions/opinions? I’ve also been looking at some of the posts and am interested in
[name_f]Claire[/name_f] / [name_f]Clara[/name_f] ( or is this too old fashioned for a young spunky family?) [name_u]Love[/name_u] spunky short names! Also is [name_f]Lily[/name_f] too popular now a days? Or is it one of those names that is timelessly popular?

[name_f]Liv[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f]
[name_f]Stella[/name_f] rose
[name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f]
[name_f]Isla[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]
[name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f]
[name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f]

From your list I like [name_f]Isla[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] the best

I also like [name_u]Owen[/name_u] and [name_u]Mason[/name_u]

I love [name_f]Claire[/name_f]. It feels timeless and sophisticated. [name_f]Lily[/name_f] is nice as well, although it is very popular but I’m sure it varies depending on where you live.

I really like the names Zohanna and Laharia. Both would go well with an H last name.

My favourite girl names off your list are [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] and [name_f]Isla[/name_f], and for the boys I love [name_m]Leo[/name_m] and [name_u]Max[/name_u]!

I always vote [name_f]Lilah[/name_f] as I have a [name_f]Lilah[/name_f]!
