Help me name my last baby

Hello naming magicians!

I’m due our 5th baby, a girl, in a couple of weeks. I’m finding coming up with a name so hard! We like unusual, but not laughable names, nothing poplar (we’re in the UK), it can’t start with the same letter as any of our other children, and needs to flow well with the others too.

Quinn is looking like number one contender for her middle name, with its connection to ‘fifth’. I’d love to know what you think of our current options, and would welcome any other suggestions!

Discounted letters C, E, F and R.

Ada [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_f]Dalia[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
Odedsa [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] (husband just vetoed but…)

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.

Usually I don’t care for [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] on a girl, but w/the fifth thing that’s super cute!

Here are my thoughts on your list-

[name_f]Ada[/name_f]-[name_f]Ada[/name_f] is super sweet. It’s kind yet strong & sophisticated at the same time. It just sounds like a nice & smart lady. It works well for any age, & is really easy to say & spell. I’m in the U.S., & I’d say that it’s gaining popularity here. Not top 100 or anything, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it were in a year or two. Not sure about the U.K. popularity much.

[name_f]Dalia[/name_f]-Gorgeous! [name_f]Dalia[/name_f] is a little exotic, but still simple & sweet. It’s definitely not too common in my neck of the woods at least.

[name_f]Iris[/name_f]-This is fine. I’m not sure why I don’t like it that much. It just sounds sort of screechy to me…That may not make sense, I know. It’s about like [name_f]Ada[/name_f] as far as popularity rising goes, but not too common.

[name_f]Odessa[/name_f]-I don’t love this one that much, but it’s not bad. It’s bold & feminine. Not too complicated, & definitely unique.

[name_f]Penelope[/name_f]-Aw, I like [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]. Too bad your hubby isn’t on board. It’s maybe a little more popular anyway, but has so many great nns!

[name_f]Valkyrie[/name_f]-This one is just too much for me. I think that the spelling & pronunciation people will get wrong all of the time. And I think that it sounds sort of harsh.

Again, I’m not very informed on U.K. popularity, so forgive me if any of these are too common for you. Here are some suggestions that you may like though…

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps.

Sorry for any repeats! I’m not really keeping track of what’s been suggested so let’s just say I’m seconding them.

Luciana [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_f]Andromeda[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_u]Juniper[/name_u] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_f]Anastasia[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_f]Arabella[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_f]Aveline[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]

Dalia [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] is stunning and would definitely be my top choice. I also like [name_f]Ada[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] and [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] from your list

A few ideas, sorry for any repeats:

[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_f]Aurora[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_f]Harriet[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]

Good luck with number five! I think using Quinn for the middle is a very cute idea.

Hi! I love your employment of [name_u]Quin[/name_u], I think it’s sweet and obviously meaningful (plus monosyllabic middle names are brill)

Dalia isn’t my favourite flower name, and I personally prefer the similar [name_f]Delilah[/name_f], but I love the contrast in endings, and again the syllable balance!

Iris is definitely my favourite name on your shortlist! [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] sounds like a bright, lovely, adventurous girl, and has a beautiful connection to the flower. Again, it sounds great.

Penelope I love and it has so many fabulous nicknames. [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] also goes so well with [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]! Probably my fave on this list!

Valkyrie isn’t quite my style, sounds a bit fantastical to me, and I can’t exactly see it on a child, but if it’s up your alley then go for it! [name_u]Unique[/name_u] names are the best.

Sorry if I droned on a bit!

Names I would recco:

I think my favorite from your list is [name_f]Ada[/name_f]. But I think [name_f]Iris[/name_f] and [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] work well too.

Alice [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_f]Juliet[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_f]Olive[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_f]Adeline[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_f]Luna[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_f]Imogen[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]

I disagree with the others about [name_f]Valkyrie[/name_f]. After [name_m]Thor[/name_m]: [name_m]Ragnarok[/name_m], [name_f]Valkyrie[/name_f] is common knowledge enough that I don’t think people would have too much trouble with it. I think it’s is powerful and pretty with a useable Nickname [name_u]Val[/name_u] and I love the Norse connection.

Dalia [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] and [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] are absolutely gorgeous!

Discounted letters C, E, F and R.
I really like [name_f]Dalia[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u].

How about…
[name_f]Amberly[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_f]Aria[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_u]Jackie[/name_u] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_f]Miriam[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
Nylie [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_u]Patrice[/name_u] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_f]Sonja[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_u]Taylor[/name_u] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_u]Teal[/name_u] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]

Dalia would be my favorite.
[name_u]Kennedy[/name_u] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]

I love [name_f]Iris[/name_f] and [name_f]Ada[/name_f]!

Iris [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] is beautiful. [name_f]Ada[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] and [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] are also lovely.

[name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] is my vote!!

[name_u]Quinn[/name_u] is such a creative way to honor a 5th
We did something similar - we used a V name middle for our 5th (the [name_m]Roman[/name_m] numeral of 5 is V.)

I love [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] with the nickname [name_u]Penny[/name_u]! I also love:

Adelaide/Adelheid [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] (I like this more than [name_f]Ada[/name_f] because of nickname potential, [name_f]Adele[/name_f], [name_f]Heidi[/name_f], [name_u]Del[/name_u])
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] (nn: [name_u]Josie[/name_u] or [name_f]Fina[/name_f])
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] (nn: [name_f]Trixie[/name_f] or [name_f]Bea[/name_f])
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] (nn: [name_u]Mattie[/name_u] or [name_f]Tilde[/name_f])
[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] (nn: [name_f]Jennie[/name_f])
[name_f]Delilah[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_f]Hazel[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] (nn: [name_f]Vi[/name_f])
[name_f]Olive[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_f]Nora[/name_f]/Honora [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_f]Luna[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_f]Poppy[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_f]Thea[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]

Thanks so much, for the love of some of my choices, and your suggestions

I’ve taken a few, mainly really liking: [name_f]Opal[/name_f], [name_f]Adela[/name_f], [name_f]Mara[/name_f], [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] and [name_f]Violet[/name_f]. These fit the bill I think.

@Mickeywichemphasized text, the [name_f]Valkyrie[/name_f] love is appreciated. I know it’s quite out there, but it’s a name that has a connection to my husband’s job in the military, and my mother is [name_f]Valerie[/name_f], who commonly goes by [name_u]Val[/name_u] so I like that it has that connection too. It’s staying on the list! One of my boys also has the middle [name_m]Torben[/name_m], meaning '[name_m]Thor[/name_m]‘s [name_m]Bear[/name_m]’, as he was born during a thunder storm. Norse names have some resonance with us.

I love [name_f]Valkyrie[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]! Not too out there in my opinion but very striking.
