I’m writing a book about a childhood friendship between two boys. It’s very different to [name_m]Mark[/name_m] Twain’s books but I like the idea of giving them names that echo the longer, slightly unusual [name_m]Huckleberry[/name_m] [name_u]Finn[/name_u] and the short, comfort name of [name_m]Tom[/name_m] [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u].
“Huckleberry”'s name is already locked in: [name_m]Solomon[/name_m] [name_m]Pike[/name_m]. Edited to add: Solomon’s childhood nickname is [name_m]Solly[/name_m], and adult nickname is [name_u]Sol[/name_u].
Would love suggestions of a name that goes well with [name_m]Solomon[/name_m] [name_m]Pike[/name_m], in the spirit of [name_m]Tom[/name_m] [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u]? I love short, unfussy boy names like [name_m]Tom[/name_m], [name_u]Sam[/name_u], and [name_m]Ben[/name_m], but not sure I want to use any of those specifically. The book is also set in the nineties in Australia if that helps.
Thanks so much!
