What a list! You clearly like both mainstream and non-mainstream names (to be fair, some are also kind of in between). I think a bigger question for you first is which category will you go with? I’ve made categories within each of those: Leading to seven mainstream favorites and five (relatively) non-mainstream favorites, some that I think are worth considering but I’d personally have more reservations about, and some that I really think you can let go of barring a major commitment to the name.
Good luck1
Mainstream, I recommend
[name]Catherine[/name] - wonderful classic, if you decide your taste is mainstream you can’t go wrong.
[name]Clara[/name] - ditto above.
[name]Elena[/name] - a little less “classic” than some others on this list but easy to spell and pronounce, related to classical names, pretty, great nicknames! A gem!
[name]Josephine[/name] - a wonderful, strong, and distinctive name.
[name]Madeleine[/name] - so pretty and charming. [name]Even[/name] if “[name]Maddy[/name]” the nickname is a bit overdone I still think this is a wonderful name, and like the nickname option [name]Leni[/name] as an alternative to [name]Maddy[/name] ([name]Maddy[/name] is still cute!).
[name]Natalia[/name] - [name]Love[/name] this name! So pretty! [name]Talia[/name] is a great nickname option, and everyone I’ve known with this name has been a great person.
[name]Vivienne[/name] - delightful, fun name on an upward trend but with real staying power.
Mainstream, maybe, but I’d have concerns
[name]Ava[/name] - a perfectly lovely and pleasant name - it is just SO popular. Be sure you’re committed to it if you use it.
[name]Annelise[/name] - this name is pleasant, if you didn’t already have such a long list I’d say keep. But I find this name has too many spelling variants.
[name]Aurelia[/name] - A beautiful name! A keeper for sure if your list weren’t so long. But I do find the pronunciation is tricky and it can sound like “oral”.
[name]Corina[/name] - very lovely name it’s just a little hard to spell and pronounce for some. Also sort of similar to [name]Corona[/name].
[name]Fiona[/name] - I love this name. Some people have reservations around the Shrek character. If you don’t consider it strongly.
[name]Francesca[/name] - I quite like this name but it is decidedly on the clunky side, so be sure you’re committed to that.
[name]Gemma[/name] - a nice name, I just think “jewel” names have a tendency to become downwardly mobile after their popularity peaks, so be aware of that.
[name]Jillian[/name] - perfectly pleasant but I just find it hard to pin down image, which makes it less attractive to me.
[name]Nora[/name] - I feel similarly about this name to [name]Jillian[/name], it’s fine it’s just kind of bland and also starting to get overused a touch.
[name]Valerie[/name] - perfectly fine but a little dated, especially relative to a lot of your list.
Mainstream, I recommend avoiding
[name]Aviana[/name] - just feels kind of made up and celebu baby to me. It IS pretty, but I feel like it lacks substance.
[name]Non[/name]-mainstream, I recommend
[name]Jessamine[/name] - I just love this name. I’m biased, I’m a [name]Jessica[/name] who loves [name]Jess[/name] and I think this is so pretty. [name]Love[/name] that she could be [name]Sam/name or [name]Minnie[/name] too!
[name]Kerensa[/name] - this is such a beautiful name, relatively easy to spell and pronounce, I would love to see it get use!
Lucelia - oh my! [name]Lucy[/name] and [name]Celia[/name] in one name! So lovely! And pretty easy to spell and pronounce. A lovely bold choice.
[name]Ramona[/name] - great sound, wonderful spunk, would so love to see this used more! A very strong name.
[name]Verity[/name] - what a wonderful virtue name, I would so love to see this used! I love [name]Vera[/name] as a nickname for it too.
[name]Non[/name] mainstream, maybe, but I have concerns
[name]Cassia[/name] - very pretty and easy enough to spell and pronounce, but mildly difficult to spell and pronounce. Also “cash” is unpleasant to some.
[name]Georgiana[/name] - wonderful name, gorgeous, just spelling and pronunciation concerns can come about.
[name]Ginevra[/name] - ditto above.
[name]Katerina[/name] - pretty, I just think it’s going to be forever misheard and misspelled as [name]Katrina[/name]. Also rings very Russian/[name]East[/name] European, if you don’t have that heritage be prepared for some assumptions that you do.
[name]Keturah[/name] - wonderful Biblical name! Nickname [name]Kitty[/name] is cute. I knew someone with this name though and no one ever knew how to spell it or read it. The sound is admittedly on the clunky side too
Madalena - very pretty, but most people are going to be used to seeing the name with the G with this ending - [name]Magdalena[/name]. I prefer [name]Magdalena[/name] to Madalena.
[name]Valencia[/name] - pretty, easy to spell and read…might be a bit much? Makes me think of Oranges, and the tragic Decemberists’ song.
[name]Vashti[/name] - a real Biblical gem, she is however not the most fully positive character (not bad, just kind of marginalized), and I know some people respond to the name by hearing “rash” and um, you know, body parts that start with Va, which discourages many. I still kind of like it and would be intrigued to see it used though.
[name]Non[/name]-mainstream, I recommend avoiding
Bryndis - no one will know what to do with this name, and I don’t think the sound is that pleasant.
Jasperine - this is going to confuse people too much. Could be an interesting middle, maybe, if [name]Jasper[/name] is a strong family name or something.
[name]Jessenia[/name] - this is a gorgeous name but the standard spelling is [name]Yesenia[/name] and to a lesser extent [name]Jesenia[/name]. If you have Spanish language heritage then OK but this name will be confusing to some if you don’t (not saying don’t use it for that, but be prepared).
[name]Marceline[/name] - I just find this name hard to pronounce, read, spell, and both the beginning like [name]Marcia[/name] and the ending like [name]Kathleen[/name] make it feel a little dated to me.
Nivea - it’s a skin care cream and close to [name]Nevaeh[/name]. I see despite that how the sound is pretty, but I just think it’s best avoided.
[name]Parisa[/name] - Too close to the problems of “[name]Paris[/name]” as a name and “Priss”. Sad because it’s pretty in theory.
[name]Portia[/name] - pretty and Shakespearean, I see the appeal but can’t escape: 1) some meanings tied to “pig” 2) [name]Portia[/name] DaRossi (not bad or anything just very specific) and 3) Porsches.
[name]Ravenna[/name] - pretty, and easy to spell and read, but seems a bit “trying too hard” and [name]Raven[/name] is just such a negative bird.
[name]Theone[/name] - intriguing meaning and history but no one’s going to know what to do with it.
[name]Vittoria[/name] - lovely, but everyone is going to think it’s [name]Victoria[/name] and unless you’re Italian, people are going to assume you are.
