Help me narrow down our list!

[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! I’ve been obsessing over naming our baby since I found out I was pregnant. I’m still in my first trimester and feel we have narrowed down our boys list. Please help me decide what fits best if we have a boy!

Our daughters are [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Linn[/name_f]éa and [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] [name_u]True[/name_u].

His middle name will be [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]. Our last name is similar to Goodman. He will be a blonde haired, blue eyed baby if he looks like his parents and sibs!

We both like:
[name_m]Hugh[/name_m]
[name_m]Conrad[/name_m]
[name_m]Miles[/name_m]
[name_m]Graham[/name_m] (My DH needs more convincing)

On the fence:
[name_m]Leo[/name_m]
[name_m]Louis[/name_m] (pronounced either way)
[name_m]Hugo[/name_m]

Please let me know your favorite(s) and why!

I adore [name_m]Graham[/name_m] and [name_m]Miles[/name_m], love [name_m]Conrad[/name_m] and [name_m]Hugh[/name_m]. I feel neutral about [name_m]Leo[/name_m], [name_m]Louis[/name_m], and [name_m]Hugo[/name_m].

Thank you for your feedback lovemysweeties! Out of [name_m]Graham[/name_m], [name_m]Miles[/name_m], [name_m]Conrad[/name_m] and [name_m]Hugh[/name_m] which sounds best with sibling names, middle name and last name in your opinion?

I think all four go well with your daughter’s names. With [name_m]Thomas[/name_m], my first choice would be [name_m]Graham[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m], followed by [name_m]Conrad[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] and [name_m]Hugh[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]. [name_m]Miles[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] slurs a bit for me. [name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_m]Milo[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]?

I love [name_m]Conrad[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] and think it would go well with his siblings’ names and your last name!

[name_m]Miles[/name_m] and [name_m]Louis[/name_m] (pronounced [name_u]Lou[/name_u]-ee)

[name_m]Louis[/name_m] ([name_m]Louie[/name_m]) [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] sounds awesome!
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Linn[/name_f]éa, [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] [name_u]True[/name_u] and [name_m]Louis[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] sounds really good. All very classic names too.

I personally don’t like [name_m]Conrad[/name_m] but with his sisters names it sounds good. [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f], [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] and [name_m]Conrad[/name_m].

I like [name_m]Graham[/name_m] more than [name_m]Conrad[/name_m] but then you would have [name_m]Graham[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] and [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] [name_u]True[/name_u]. Both would have G.T initials. Not sure if that makes a difference though. Grahm is a cute nickname though.

OOooo. I love ALL your choices! I think I’ll just have to put them in order because it’s hard to veto any of them (except maybe [name_m]Hugo[/name_m], see explanation below).

  1. [name_m]Louis[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]–I agree with a previous poster that the [name_m]Louie[/name_m] pronunciation sounds fantastic with [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] and [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]! It also avoids the repeated ‘s’ sound at the end of [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]. The [name_m]Lewis[/name_m] pronunciation works well with the siblings too, it’s just not as exciting as [name_m]Louie[/name_m].
  2. [name_m]Hugh[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]–[name_m]Hugh[/name_m] is probably my very favorite name. It feels both light and solid, artistic and stalwart to me. I’ve found very few names work as a middle after it, but [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] seems to fit. My only qualm is that I personally don’t imagine a [name_m]Hugh[/name_m] being blond haired and blue eyed. It’s more of a brown-hair name to me. But maybe that’s because I know so few Hughs, and I wouldn’t let that stop you!
  3. [name_m]Miles[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]–I’m not super sold on the double ‘s’ endings to [name_m]Miles[/name_m] and [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] but [name_m]Miles[/name_m] does sound good with [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] and [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]! [name_m]Miles[/name_m] brings to mind a flexible, easy-going personality to me. I’m imagining a baby who is pretty calm in the womb, not kicking all the time.
  4. [name_m]Conrad[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]–Now [name_m]Conrad[/name_m] is a definite blond name to me! With it’s strong consonants, it’s the heaviest name of your list. I’d imagine an energetic (i.e. LOTS OF KICKING!) and solid baby boy and child.
  5. [name_m]Graham[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]–I really love the name [name_m]Graham[/name_m] (pronounced [name_m]Gram[/name_m]), but think the other names sound better with your daughters and I’m not sold on the G.G. initials.
  6. [name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]–[name_m]Leo[/name_m] is my least favorite name on your list. It’s a bit ho-hum after the other options.
  7. [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]–I think [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] sounds great but [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] Goodman (with the repeated ‘g’ sound) is a bit of a mouthful.

Thank you for all the feedback! It’s so nice to get other’s opinions other than family/close friends as I’m not ready to hear their feedback yet. Haha! Keep your favorites and explanations coming!

My husband is s leaning toward Conrad the most at this point. My only concern is that it might sound too serious/be too big a mouthful of a name. Miles feels the opposite, but may feel too bland for us. I took Hugo and Leo off the list.

I think [name_m]Louis[/name_m] (pronounce [name_m]Louie[/name_m]) sounds like it goes best with your daughters names. It is not my favorite name, but it definitely matches the “style” of their names best. [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] works, as well, I think.

Of the names you listed, [name_m]Graham[/name_m] and [name_m]Miles[/name_m] are my favorites. I don’t think [name_m]Miles[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] sounds bad at all, despite the repeated “s” sounds. I actually think it has a very nice flow. [name_m]Graham[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] is a bit halting to me, but not bad enough that it doesn’t work. I don’t think [name_m]Conrad[/name_m] or [name_m]Hugh[/name_m] sound like they go with your daughters names, at all.

Overall, while I like some of the names, they just don’t seem to fit with your daughters names to me. Your daughters have weighty, elegant, almost royal or rich names. I just don’t feel that any of the boys names match that. Not that they aren’t good names, of course. If it were me, I would maybe consider names like [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m], [name_m]Henry[/name_m] (short, but still quite royal) or [name_m]Jasper[/name_m]. But that’s me. =] If you’re loving one of the names you listed, totally go for it!
