Help me narrow down? Sorry in advance!

[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! So at the moment I have quite a long list of names, and am really struggling with deciding. I’m afraid they are not wild or exciting (pretty much all traditional English) so sorry berries! I love all these names but I have little questions about each of them:

  • [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lily[/name_f] (nickname [name_f]Lily[/name_f] too far fetched?)
  • [name_f]Lily[/name_f] (love name [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] too but feel [name_f]Lily[/name_f] and [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] are a bit similar as siblings. Also love other names too, so I’d quite like to use them at once, as I love them both, if that makes sense?)
  • [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] nn [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] (is [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] too old fashioned/pretentious? could [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] be a standalone name?)
  • [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] or [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] nn [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] (is [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] too far fetched as a nickname from the -elle part? [name_u]Izzy[/name_u] grates on me a bit)
  • [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] nn Immi (I like L’s in names… is [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] pretty enough?)
  • [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] nn [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] (is [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] pretty enough?)
  • [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] (very short… no nickname?)
  • [name_f]Marnie[/name_f] (I can’t explain why, but I like this… is it too old fashioned?)
  • [name_f]Martha[/name_f] (is it too old fashioned/no nickname?)
  • [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lily[/name_f] (is it too out there?)

Also would [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] be acceptable as sisters if their nicknames are [name_f]Lily[/name_f] and [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]? What about [name_f]Lily[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosie[/name_f]/[name_f]Rosie[/name_f] and [name_f]Ivy[/name_f]/[name_f]Lily[/name_f] and [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] as sisters - is both being plant names unacceptable? Sorry… I have so many questions. Any responses appreciated

I don’t think [name_f]Lily[/name_f] is an intuitive nn for [name_f]Amelia[/name_f], and I am a firm believer in intuitive nn’s! I like [name_f]Lily[/name_f] and [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] as sisters, I don’t think they’re too similar for siblings at all!

I have an aunt named [name_f]Rosa[/name_f] with middle name [name_u]Lee[/name_u], and she goes by [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] to all of us “kids,” but professionally as [name_f]Rosa[/name_f] or [name_f]Rosa[/name_f]-[name_u]Lee[/name_u]. I adore [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] and, really, any form of [name_f]Rose[/name_f].

I do not like [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] for any other reason than the fact that it is just way too popular for my tastes. For some reason, [name_f]Rose[/name_f] feels more classic.

I love [name_f]Imogen[/name_f], nn Immi!!

[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] is pretty, but I prefer [name_f]Eleanora[/name_f], as I find it more attractive.

[name_f]Ottilie[/name_f] is one of my favorite names! I prefer [name_f]Tilly[/name_f] as a nn, though.

I think [name_f]Lily[/name_f] and [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] could definitely be sisters.

  • [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lily[/name_f] (nickname [name_f]Lily[/name_f] too far fetched?)
    It does seem far-fetched.

  • [name_f]Lily[/name_f] (love name [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] too but feel [name_f]Lily[/name_f] and [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] are a bit similar as siblings and love other names too)
[name_f]Lily[/name_f] and [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] make a wonderful sibling set.

  • [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] nn [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] (is [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] too old fashioned/pretentious? could [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] be a standalone name?)
[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] does not feel too old-fashioned to me. Definitely not pretentious. [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] can definitely work as a stand alone. I also love [name_f]Rose[/name_f].

I much prefer [name_f]Isabel[/name_f]/[name_f]Isobel[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], and also [name_f]Elle[/name_f], works. My personal favorite nickname for [name_f]Isabel[/name_f]/[name_f]Isobel[/name_f] is Isby.

  • [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] nn Immi (I like L’s in names… is [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] pretty enough?)
Immi works. I do not know if I would call [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] pretty.

  • [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] nn [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] (is [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] pretty enough?)
I like [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] but prefer [name_f]Nora[/name_f]. Again, I would not categorize [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] as pretty. Names like [name_f]Anneliese[/name_f], [name_f]Sofia[/name_f], … are in the pretty category. Not sure what I would call [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]. I wouldn’t call most of my favorites pretty.

  • [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] (very short… no nickname?)
I cannot get onboard with [name_f]Ivy[/name_f]. I think of poison ivy and house ivy (which is a big nuisance).

  • [name_f]Marnie[/name_f] (I can’t explain why, but I like this… is it too old fashioned?)
I would not call it too old-fashioned. Personally I feel neutral about it.

  • [name_f]Martha[/name_f] (is it too old fashioned/no nickname?)
Again, not too old-fashioned. [name_f]Martha[/name_f] is a short name and does not need a nickname.

  • [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lily[/name_f] (is it too out there?)
    Seems far-fetched.

Also would [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] be acceptable as sisters if their nicknames are [name_f]Lily[/name_f] and [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]?
yes

What about [name_f]Lily[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosie[/name_f]/[name_f]Rosie[/name_f] and [name_f]Ivy[/name_f]/[name_f]Lily[/name_f] and [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] as sisters - is both being plant names unacceptable?
They all work as siblings. They are not unacceptable.

  • I don’t love [name_f]Lily[/name_f] as a nickname for [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] or [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f]. I’m not a huge fan of the “stretch” nicknames as they come off as a little over the top to me. [name_f]Lily[/name_f] is a name on its own so if that’s what you really like, I say just commit to it rather than squeezing two names onto one person. But I do think [name_f]Lily[/name_f] works as a nickname for [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] if you don’t like [name_f]Lily[/name_f] on its own for whatever reason.
  • [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Lily[/name_f] are nice as sisters.
  • [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] is pretty. I hadn’t heard it until recently so possible it will sound dated in a few decades but hard to tell. I knew a [name_f]Rose[/name_f] nn [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] in high school and she now goes by [name_f]Rose[/name_f], so I tend to think [name_f]Rose[/name_f] or [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] is better as the full name to leave a more serious option for an adult.
  • I like [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] but think [name_f]Elle[/name_f] is a stretch. [name_u]Bell[/name_u] works.
  • [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] I would call more cute or funky than pretty but I like it.
  • I’m a fan of [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] and like [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] as a nickname. I think it’s pretty.
  • [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] is cute. I’m undecided on the multiple plant siblings.
  • [name_f]Marnie[/name_f] I like too, but it sounds like a nickname to me and wish it came with a full name.
  • [name_f]Martha[/name_f] still sounds old lady to me.
  • [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lily[/name_f] (nickname [name_f]Lily[/name_f] too far fetched?)
    I think so, yes.

Great name to use as a standalone.

  • [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] nn [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] (is [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] too old fashioned/pretentious? could [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] be a standalone name?)
[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] isn’t old fashioned or pretentious, and I think [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] is very cute standalone.

[name_f]Ellie[/name_f] works as a NN, but you never know what other people will call her.

  • [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] nn Immi (I like L’s in names… is [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] pretty enough?)
    I really like [name_f]Imogen[/name_f].

  • [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] nn [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] (is [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] pretty enough?)
    I also really like [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]

  • [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] (very short… no nickname?)
    I love [name_f]Ivy[/name_f].

  • [name_f]Marnie[/name_f] (I can’t explain why, but I like this… is it too old fashioned?)
    Nah, it’s good

  • [name_f]Martha[/name_f] (is it too old fashioned/no nickname?)
This one is too old fashioned for me, but if you love it, go for it. I also think you could use [name_f]Marnie[/name_f] as a NN.

  • [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lily[/name_f] (is it too out there?)
It’s not too out there, and I prefer [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f] over [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] as a root name for [name_f]Lily[/name_f].

  • [name_f]Lily[/name_f] & [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] / [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] & [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] / [name_f]Lily[/name_f] & [name_f]Ivy[/name_f]?
    All work.

Can I suggest the following as root names for [name_f]Lily[/name_f] -

[name_f]Delilah[/name_f]
Galilei , Galiley
[name_f]Lilac[/name_f]
Lilion
Lilliam
[name_f]Lillika[/name_f]
[name_f]Talila[/name_f]

[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lily[/name_f] - I like [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] and I love [name_f]Lily[/name_f], but apart from them both having L sounds, I don’t think they’re particularly similar at all and so I think [name_f]Lily[/name_f] would be a bit of a stretch. Maybe [name_f]Millie[/name_f] would work instead?

[name_f]Lily[/name_f] - I think [name_f]Lily[/name_f] is a beautiful standalone name, and I think it could be a sister for [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] or even a middle name for it. I’m pretty sure there was a British X-factor contestant a while ago who was called [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f], and I think it makes a very pretty and usable combo.

[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] nn [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] - [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] doesn’t seem too old-fashioned or at all pretentious to me, but then again, I possibly have rather pretentious taste  [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] is a cute nickname, but I prefer it as a nickname for something else, as I’m not sure if a forty-year old would still want to be a [name_f]Rosie[/name_f]. If you’re not keen on [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f], you could use [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] as a nickname for simple [name_f]Rose[/name_f] or [name_f]Rosa[/name_f], [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f], [name_f]Rosaline[/name_f], Rosabel, [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] etc. There are lots of options!

[name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] or [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] nn [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] - I love [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f]/[name_f]Isabel[/name_f], although my personal favourite spelling is [name_f]Isobel[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] works as a nickname, but it’s a very common nickname for lots of other names, and so it will be one you’ll encounter often and people might assume your daughter is called [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] or something. I personally find [name_u]Issy[/name_u] very cute, but other choices you might like include [name_f]Belle[/name_f]/[name_f]Bella[/name_f] (although I assume you’ve thought of this), [name_f]Ibby[/name_f], Ibsy, [name_f]Saba[/name_f]/[name_f]Sabella[/name_f], [name_u]Isa[/name_u]/[name_u]Issa[/name_u], Zabby/Sabby, or if you use the [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] spelling you can even get away with [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] I think.

[name_f]Imogen[/name_f] nn Immi - I adore [name_f]Imogen[/name_f], it’s probably my favourite of your names (tied with [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f]) so I definitely think it’s pretty enough. [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] nn Immi is lovely, although I prefer the [name_f]Immy[/name_f] spelling. If you like the ‘L’ sound you could always put it in the middle - [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f] or [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f] would be gorgeous.

[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] nn [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] - I think [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] is a very strong name, but it’s not one I ever describe as pretty, but I don’t think all names have to be ‘pretty’. [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] is beautiful and elegant and a strong, feminine classic. For me, [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] takes away from [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]'s strength and adult feeling, as it feels very juvenile and popular. I prefer the slightly more grown up [name_f]Ella[/name_f] or [name_f]Elle[/name_f].

[name_f]Ivy[/name_f] - it’s short but sweet, but no there isn’t really a nickname. If you did something like [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] you could use it as a nickname though as you’d have the I and V initials

[name_f]Marnie[/name_f] - I think this is sassy and funky, if a little old fashioned, but I always find the sound a bit whiny. I also think it works better as a nickname. Maybe [name_f]Marina[/name_f] nn [name_f]Marnie[/name_f] or [name_f]Hermione[/name_f] nn [name_f]Marnie[/name_f] would work?

[name_f]Martha[/name_f] - it’s a little old-fashioned, but perfectly usable. There’s no obvious nickname but I think [name_f]Mari[/name_f] or Arti or [name_f]Martie[/name_f] or [name_u]Mattie[/name_u] could work, and if you used a nickname with an N beginning you might even be able to get away with [name_f]Martha[/name_f] nn [name_f]Marnie[/name_f]

[name_f]Ottilie[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lily[/name_f] - I adore [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f], and I don’t really think it needs a nickname but I think [name_f]Lily[/name_f] would work here, as the sounds are much more obvious than in [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]. Otherwise I know Ottilies nn Otti, and I think Otter would be cute as a little girl, and then [name_f]Tillie[/name_f].

Also would [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] be acceptable as sisters if their nicknames are [name_f]Lily[/name_f] and [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]? I think [name_f]Lily[/name_f] and [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] work as nicknames for sisters, but I can’t get behind [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lily[/name_f], as the names just sound so different to me.

What about [name_f]Lily[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosie[/name_f]/[name_f]Rosie[/name_f] and [name_f]Ivy[/name_f]/[name_f]Lily[/name_f] and [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] as sisters - is both being plant names unacceptable? I think it’s quite common for sisters to all have plant/flower names, so I wouldn’t worry about this. If you’re going to name one child [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] though, I wouldn’t use a flowing, long name like [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] for the other though

My favorites are…
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] ~ Yes pretty enough. [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] is OK for a nickname. I’d prefer [name_f]Elle[/name_f], [name_f]Ella[/name_f], or even [name_f]Nora[/name_f]. Have you considered [name_f]Eleonora[/name_f] / [name_f]Eleanora[/name_f] if your questioning if [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] is “pretty” enough.
[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] ~ Not too old fashioned. [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] is actually pretty trendy right now. Now pretentious either imo. Very pretty. [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] could be a stand alone. That’s totally up to you. I do prefer [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] over [name_f]Rosie[/name_f]. [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] is very cute but [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] has more options.
[name_f]Isabelle[/name_f]/[name_f]Isabel[/name_f] ~ I like each spelling equal enough. Some days I like [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] more and some days I like [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] more. [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] is a perfectly acceptable nickname for [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f]/[name_f]Isabel[/name_f]. However, with this nickname I do prefer the [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] spelling.
[name_f]Lily[/name_f] ~ I will always love this name no matter how popular it is. [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] & [name_f]Lily[/name_f] make wonderful sisters. Not too similar to me.

[name_m]Just[/name_m] ok to me…
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] ~ [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] kinda grates on my ears like [name_u]Izzy[/name_u] does to you. I just find it sort of …annoying. But that’s a personal preference it’s a perfectly acceptable name. [name_f]Lily[/name_f] does seem like stretch for a nickname. I think you would really have to push that nickname.
[name_f]Ivy[/name_f] ~ I used to really like [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] but now it’s just ‘meh’ to me. The no nickname thing is not a big deal unless it REALLY matters to you. I personally do not have a nickname.
[name_f]Martha[/name_f] ~ A little old fashioned but nothing wrong with that. Ditto to [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] about the nickname.
[name_f]Ottilie[/name_f] ~ [name_f]Lily[/name_f] also seems far-fetched. But maybe you could get people on board more because it’s a less common name?

Not a fan…
[name_f]Marnie[/name_f] ~ I’m just not a fan and it’s not because it’s old fashioned.
[name_f]Imogen[/name_f] ~ I would not put this in a “pretty” category.

~[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] “[name_f]Lily[/name_f]” & [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] “[name_f]Ellie[/name_f]” work but again I don’t think [name_f]Lily[/name_f] is an automatic nickname for [name_f]Amelia[/name_f].
~Plant names are fine together but people may think you are intentionally trying to have a theme.

Good [name_m]Luck[/name_m]!

[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! You have some great names here, I can’t wait to look through them

  • [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lily[/name_f] - personally I think don’t you can get to [name_f]Lily[/name_f] from [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]. That being said, I did know an [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] nn [name_f]Millie[/name_f], and even an [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lilly[/name_f] (idk where that came from?) so maybe at push it could work. My favourite nickname for [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] would be [name_f]Mia[/name_f], but I think [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] is too beautiful to have a nickname! ([name_f]Edit[/name_f]: Oh yeah and there’s a singer/actress in the UK called [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f])

  • [name_f]Lily[/name_f] - I actually have nieces called [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Lily[/name_f] lol (they’re cousins though, not sisters). [name_f]Lily[/name_f] is a beautiful name, and I think sisters called [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Lily[/name_f] could work they’re certainly the same style but not too similar. Also, if you really want to call ‘[name_f]Amelia[/name_f]’ [name_f]Lily[/name_f], then just call her [name_f]Lily[/name_f]!

  • [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] nn [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] - I dislike [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] as a standalone me as it’s quite cutesy. [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] is very beautiful. For some reason I think Roselie looks prettier!

  • [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] or [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] nn [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] - I know sisters called [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] and [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] if that helps? Lol. [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] is the prettier spelling, and I think [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] is a plausible nickname.

  • [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] nn Immi - [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] is gorgeous! And a hidden gem. There needs to be more Imogens!

  • [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] nn [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] - I never used to like [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] but she’s looking especially exotic to me at the moment

  • [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] - do you need a nickname? Short names are great too! [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] is a lovely choice

  • [name_f]Marnie[/name_f] - I feel the exact same way! [name_f]Marnie[/name_f] is so adorable. It’s cutesy on a kid, but also works on an adult. But I do also get that feeling sometimes that it’s a little outdated. If you a met a little [name_f]Marnie[/name_f] though, you’d be thrilled, right?

  • [name_f]Martha[/name_f] - This I would say is outdated sorry - but that’s just me!

  • [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lily[/name_f] - [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f] is kind of a guilty pleasure to me. I would’ve gone for [name_f]Tilly[/name_f] as a nn but [name_f]Lily[/name_f] could work, as the letters and sounds are there.

[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] would be great sisters, and [name_f]Lily[/name_f] and [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] go wonderfully together! [name_f]Lily[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] does work, but I’d rather see [name_f]Lily[/name_f] and [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. Same with [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] and [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] (I’d rather [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and [name_f]Ivy[/name_f], but lovely whichever.) [name_f]Lily[/name_f] and [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] is great too!

[name_m]Don[/name_m]'t be afraid of shorter names! They can be just as lovely!

Good luck!

From your list, I love [name_f]Imogen[/name_f], [name_f]Amelia[/name_f], and [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f]! I think [name_f]Lily[/name_f] would be a better nickname for [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f] than [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]. If you want to use [name_f]Lily[/name_f] and [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] on your first daughter, I’d suggest calling her [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]. [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f] [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] also stands out to me, or [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]. [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] is awesome too.

To get to the nickname [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], I think [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] is the better choice. I think [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] is a lovely name! It’s got a bit of elegance as part of its beauty, so it’s more than “pretty” to me. I think there would be a danger to using [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] if you don’t like the nickname [name_u]Izzy[/name_u] because her friends will find other names for her and [name_u]Izzy[/name_u] might just be that name. My parents called my sister ([name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]) [name_f]Beth[/name_f] until the second grade when she decided she was [name_f]Liz[/name_f] and has been [name_f]Liz[/name_f] ever since. If you want your daughter to use a specific name, I’d give her that name.

I think [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] works as a full name, though I like [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f] or [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] better. [name_f]Ivy[/name_f], [name_f]Martha[/name_f], and [name_f]Marnie[/name_f] aren’t my style. I’m not sure if [name_f]Marnie[/name_f] and [name_f]Martha[/name_f] are “ready for revival” since they’re still in use by people between the ages of 30-70, but if you love them then there is no reason not to use them.

As for sibling sets, [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Lily[/name_f] and [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]) are fine, though too close for me. [name_f]Lily[/name_f], [name_f]Rosie[/name_f], and [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] are fine too, though, again, not my style. If you like those plant nicknames, you could use different full names for [name_f]Lily[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] (i.e. [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f]) so they aren’t actually matchy-matchy.

I like [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f], and [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] (or [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f] [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] if you want the flower theme).

  • [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lily[/name_f]- I think it’s a bit of a stretch, honestly. But I love [name_f]Amelia[/name_f], and it could definitely stand on its own. I prefer [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lily[/name_f], if you really want a [name_f]Lily[/name_f] too.

  • [name_f]Lily[/name_f]- I like [name_f]Lily[/name_f] a lot, but I’d probably use [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] or [name_f]Lilith[/name_f] and have [name_f]Lily[/name_f] as a nickname (Then, you could use [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] as well, I think [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] and [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Lilith[/name_f] sound good together.)

  • [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] nn [name_f]Rosie[/name_f]- I love [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]. I prefer [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f], personally, but [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] is gorgeous and I think [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] sounds better as a nickname. Then, if she grew up and decided [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] was a little too cutesy for her, she could go by [name_f]Rose[/name_f] or [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f].

  • [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] or [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] nn [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]- I like [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], and think it could work as a nn for [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f], but I’m not a huge fan of [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f].

  • [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] nn Immi- I love [name_f]Imogen[/name_f], it’s so pretty. I prefer it as simply [name_f]Imogen[/name_f], but Immi is definitely a good nickname.

  • [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] nn [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]- I adore [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]. It’s elegant, classic, and in my opinion, timeless. It’s gorgeous on its own, but [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] is adorable and I think especially when she’s younger, a cute nickname for a beautiful full name.

  • [name_f]Ivy[/name_f]- I have a second cousin [name_f]Ivy[/name_f], and I like it. It’s not my favorite from your list, but it’s cute, simple, and straightforward. It also works for all ages without needing a nickname. It’s one of those names that can be equally cute and sophisticated.

  • [name_f]Marnie[/name_f]- It’s cute, but I prefer [name_u]Marley[/name_u] or [name_f]Marlie[/name_f], personally. It’s old fashioned, but I wouldn’t let that stop you if you really love this name.

  • [name_f]Martha[/name_f]- [name_f]Martha[/name_f] reminds me too much of my great grandmother [name_f]Martha[/name_f], to be honest. I’m probably really biased, so that’s my only comment for this name.

  • [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lily[/name_f]- I love [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lily[/name_f]. It’s not too out there, and it’s stunning.

My favorites are [name_f]Amelia[/name_f], [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f], [name_f]Imogen[/name_f], [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], and [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f], but I’d have to admit that [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] nn [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] is my absolute favorite. It’s gorgeous, and if you don’t want to use [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] as a first name, it makes a great middle as well!

Personally not a fan of [name_f]Imogen[/name_f], [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] (or any form of that name) and [name_f]Amelia[/name_f].

However I think [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f], or [name_f]Rosa[/name_f] for nn [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] would be really pretty! It gives a cute nn but leaves a more professional optional for her future!

[name_f]Lily[/name_f] is such a beautiful name! I think [name_f]Lilian[/name_f] or [name_f]Liliana[/name_f] would be much prettier options for full names.

If you’re looking for a full name that would suit [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] as a nn I’ve got quite a few for I adore this nn as well!! There’s [name_f]Noelle[/name_f], [name_u]Elia[/name_u] ([name_u]Elia[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] could be a full name or a first and middle), [name_f]Ella[/name_f], [name_f]Stella[/name_f], [name_f]Ariella[/name_f] (or [name_f]Arielle[/name_f]), [name_f]Aubrielle[/name_f] (Aubriel, [name_f]Aubriella[/name_f]), [name_f]Elliana[/name_f], or [name_f]Elena[/name_f].

[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] is okay but I think I would only like it if she went by [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] most of the time! I think the options above are much prettier in my opinion!

[name_f]Happy[/name_f] Hunting!

I like [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Lily[/name_f] as sisters. I don’t like [name_f]Lily[/name_f] as a nn for [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]. My favs from your list:

[name_f]Amelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Isabel[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]
[name_f]Ivy[/name_f]
