While I NEVER imagined I would name my baby for sure before I actually met her (always imagined having a short list and not deciding until we had her in our arms!), nor did I ever think that the final name I chose would be an androgynous one for a girl, (always loved them, but felt I, personally, was more of a traditional type in the end), both these pre-conceived notions have now completely gone by the wayside! I’m still not sure how it happened, but somewhere along the way we started calling our baby girl “[name]Finley[/name]” and now we cannot imagine her any other way!
So, since she has already miraculously picked her own first name, I can’t stop my brain racing as I try to find the perfect middle name. Perhaps you guys can help me? Below are some of my thoughts so far, let me know what you think!:
I marked out the overly frilly names as well as the unisex names. [name]Ophelia[/name] and [name]Estella[/name] just sound odd next to the boyish and trendy first name [name]Finley[/name]. [name]Finley[/name] [name]Nora[/name] and [name]Finley[/name] [name]Eloise[/name] are my personal favorites from the above list. Good luck!
My favorites- [name]Finley[/name] [name]Eloise[/name],[name]Finley[/name] [name]Katherine[/name], [name]Finley[/name] [name]Madeline[/name], [name]Finley[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]
least favorite- [name]Finley[/name] [name]Chase[/name]- Sounds like a boy
[name]Finley[/name] [name]Reese[/name]- too boyish
[name]Finley[/name] [name]Zelda[/name]- I don’t think the names go together very well
I believe with an androgynous name like [name]Finley[/name] (which I love by the way!) You should give her a more feminine, but not overly frilly, classic name. I love your ideas of [name]Finley[/name] [name]Katherine[/name], Finely [name]Elizabeth[/name]. The first name that came to mind was [name]Finley[/name] [name]Rose[/name].
I don’t like [name]Finley[/name] for a girl personally.
But if I had to choose I’d do something one syllable with a strong first sound like [name]Finley[/name] [name]Skye[/name] or [name]Finley[/name] [name]Kay[/name].
My first thought was [name]Finley[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]. I wouldn’t use [name]Chase[/name] or [name]Reese[/name] because they’re also unisex. I think [name]Finley[/name] [name]Christina[/name] Havens is pretty nice!
