I have a main character her father died before she was born her mother remarried a man she does not see eye to eye with at all. At the beginning of the book she is a stripper trying to make it on her own after moving out right out of high school. She is strong willed and refuses to give up.
I have a few names I’m throwing around but I’m open to suggestions. Her mother is an art dealer so when she named her she wanted something off the wall unique.
Names I like but am unsure of
[name_u]Waverly[/name_u] [name_f]Anne[/name_f]
[name_f]Thisbe[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f]
[name_u]Echo[/name_u] [name_f]Lucille[/name_f]
[name_u]Madigan[/name_u] Ween
[name_f]Esther[/name_f] [name_f]Suzanne[/name_f]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Pauline[/name_f]
Please help!
From your list I like [name_f]Freya[/name_f], [name_u]Echo[/name_u], and [name_f]Kate[/name_f], but I don’t necessarily care for the respective middle/first they’re paired with. Some of the names like [name_f]Anne[/name_f], [name_f]Esther[/name_f], [name_f]Suzanne[/name_f], and [name_f]Pauline[/name_f] just sound too average— they don’t have the unique and off the wall feel that you’re going for.
If her mother is an art dealer, what about some names from famous artworks/of artists? Some of the ones you have listed already could actually double as names from famous pieces ([name_f]Esther[/name_f], for instance, or [name_f]Suzanne[/name_f] could be a play on Cezanne).
[name_f]Olympia[/name_f] ([name_f]Manet[/name_f])
[name_f]Venus[/name_f] (Botticelli)
[name_f]Danae[/name_f] (Gentileschi)
[name_f]Zorah[/name_f] ([name_u]Matisse[/name_u])
[name_f]Saskia[/name_f] ([name_m]Rembrandt[/name_m])
[name_f]Monet[/name_f]
Cezanne
[name_f]Artemisia[/name_f]
[name_f]Georgia[/name_f]
[name_f]Frida[/name_f]
[name_u]Matisse[/name_u]
Hopefully this gives you a few ideas. Good luck!
Personally, I like [name_u]Waverly[/name_u] [name_f]Anne[/name_f] as a pair (the exotic-ness of the first name makes up for the ordinary-ness of the second name [sorry about the made-up words]).
However, some more names to toss around (though I only like some of them):
Edlva [aid-l-va]
[name_f]Catrine[/name_f]
[name_f]Chiara[/name_f]
[name_u]Cyan[/name_u]/[name_f]Cyane[/name_f]/Cyanne
Or something that’s an thing for a more creative feel:
[name_u]River[/name_u]
[name_f]Breeze[/name_f]
[name_f]Saffron[/name_f]
Okay, not one of my best sets of suggestions, but I guess it’s alright. Good luck, anyway!
I like that you (mostly) used quite mundane middle names, I think it balances the uncommon first names. From your list I like [name_f]Freya[/name_f], though not a fan of it combined with [name_f]Pauline[/name_f]. Really like the flow of [name_u]Waverly[/name_u] [name_f]Anne[/name_f].
I like sansavesper’s idea with famous artists I think it could be a nice little something to add to your MC’s name.
Thought I should add some names too…how about…
[name_f]Athenais[/name_f]
Andraste
[name_f]Amadea[/name_f]
[name_f]Ariadne[/name_f]
[name_u]Artemis[/name_u]
[name_f]Calista[/name_f]
[name_f]Clea[/name_f]
[name_f]Davina[/name_f]
[name_f]Isolde[/name_f]
[name_f]Nastasia[/name_f]
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps! Xx
