Help me pick the best spelling for us.

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] berries!

I’m heavily leaning toward [name_f]Viviane[/name_f]/[name_f]Vivianne[/name_f] if our midsummer babe is a girl. I picked it as a contracted version of [name_f]MIL[/name_f]'s name, [name_f]Virginia[/name_f] [name_f]Ann[/name_f]. Which do you think is the best spelling to use in our case? I’ve gone back and forth between the two for months and am no closer to deciding. Thanks for your input!

Full name would be either [name_f]Viviane[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] or [name_f]Vivianne[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f].

The spelling which comes to mind that is as close to [name_f]Virginia[/name_f] [name_f]Ann[/name_f] would be [name_u]Vivian[/name_u], but as that isn’t an option I’d go with [name_f]Viviane[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Vivianne[/name_f] would be confused for [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f].

I love both! What a wonderful idea for contracting those two names. I’d go with [name_f]Vivianne[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f].

[name_f]Vivianne[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] is beautiful and what a wonderful way to honor your [name_f]MIL[/name_f]!

I agree, what a wonderful way to honor your mother-in-law. I prefer [name_f]Vivianne[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f]. I think the whole combo is beautiful.

I like [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] or [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f].

I love the -ane and -ana endings, so [name_f]Viviane[/name_f] gets my vote.
[name_f]Vivianne[/name_f] seems less timeless, reminds me more of [name_f]Marianne[/name_f] (I prefer [name_u]Marian[/name_u] or [name_f]Mariana[/name_f]) or [name_f]Leanne[/name_f] and the likes, so it seems like it would get dated faster. [name_f]Viviane[/name_f] will keep her flair longer I think.

I would usually prefer [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] or [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] but between those 2 I prefer [name_f]Vivianne[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f]!

[name_f]Vivianne[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f]
