Hello!
[name_f]My[/name_f] hubby and I are planning our 3rd/4th/5th babies to be here in 2016/2017 and 2018 all being well and everything but I love looking at names regardless and imagining next baby with so & so name etc.
We already have a son named [name_u]Mackenzie[/name_u] and a daughter named [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]. Our surname is Gibbs. I do like names ending in the ‘Ee’ sound but also love the Irish names!
Can you help me think of names to compliment both children I already have. Please? Preferably irish/scottish/gaelic/celtic theme. I usually have to persuade the other half and takes ages which is why I’m weirdly asking years in advance haha!
So far on my list I have:
[name_u]Shay[/name_u] [name_m]Matthew[/name_m]
[name_u]Shane[/name_u]
[name_u]Logan[/name_u] [name_u]Jay[/name_u]
[name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m]
[name_m]Macaulay[/name_m] [name_u]Ryan[/name_u]
[name_m]Brodie[/name_m] [name_m]Callum[/name_m]
[name_m]Malachi[/name_m] (pronounced mal a Kee)
Although I think [name_u]Riley[/name_u] would be ok for a boy, I really am not struck on that or [name_u]Finlay[/name_u] haha! Thanks a lot in advance! X
Your kids names are pretty different, so I don’t think you’ll ever have a really cohesive ‘set’ but I don’t think that is really important in the long run anyway. I think [name_u]Shay[/name_u], [name_u]Shane[/name_u], [name_u]Logan[/name_u], [name_m]Brodie[/name_m] and [name_m]Leo[/name_m] are great names that would work well. [name_m]Macaulay[/name_m] and [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] are also nice names but will cause a little bit of confusion in pronunciation/spelling. [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] also works really well. [name_f]Aoife[/name_f] is pretty but will be very difficult to deal with for most Americans. I would suggest more straightforward spelling of Celtic names. [name_f]Neve[/name_f] instead of [name_f]Niamh[/name_f], for example. Not to mention it makes [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] stand out much more as an outlier.
I think [name_u]Logan[/name_u] and [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] are the best to go with [name_u]Mackenzie[/name_u] and [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f].
Other suggestions:
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f], [name_f]Fiona[/name_f], [name_f]Nora[/name_f], [name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f], [name_f]Isla[/name_f]
In regards to phoebe being the outer name, I do like [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] & oh likes [name_f]Lily[/name_f] so doesn’t necessary have to be irish theme really!
I think most old fashioned or revival names that are popular would work well, like [name_f]Lily[/name_f] or [name_u]Ruby[/name_u]. The clunkier or geekier names would stand out more in the sibset, like [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] or [name_m]Harold[/name_m]. I think [name_u]Ruby[/name_u], [name_f]Lily[/name_f], [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] and [name_u]Mackenzie[/name_u] sound really nice together.
