Help me, PLEASE...My little girl has arrived and still doesn't have a name!

I know it sounds crazy but it’s true…I’m not sure what’s not clicking for me? She is a beautiful baby and I want a truly beautiful name for her!

I have two daughters and their names are - [name]Marya[/name] [name]Gabryella[/name] and [name]Syerra[/name] [name]Ashlynn[/name]. Our heritage is Spanish and Italian but we are open to all names, origins, etc.

I’d like to continue the trend of her name containing a “Y” and ending with an “A”.

Here’s what I was thinking for her middle name:
Hidali - (My grandmother’s middle name).

OR

[name]Frances[/name], [name]Francine[/name], [name]Francina[/name], [name]Frankie[/name]…etc., (A name honoring my brother, [name]Frank[/name], who passed a few years ago). [name]Francis[/name] was my brother’s birth name as well as my grandfather’s and my father’s name. Maybe there has already been too many?

Lasty, All Saints [name]Day[/name] is a day of great significance to us…Is there a name for a girl similar to [name]Toussaint[/name] (boy’s name) or another variation?

Any suggestions and opinions are GREATLY appreciated!!! Thank you for your consideration and time!

[name]Alyssa[/name]
[name]Ayla[/name]
[name]Kayla[/name]
[name]Brynna[/name]
[name]Lilyana[/name]
[name]Lyla[/name]
[name]Daya[/name] or [name]Dayana[/name]
[name]Gwynna[/name]
[name]Layla[/name]
[name]Kayda[/name]
[name]Kaya[/name]
[name]Lydia[/name]
[name]Olympia[/name]

Good luck.

[name]Toussaint[/name] = Santyna? would start with an S like [name]Syerra[/name]…but relate to [name]Santina[/name] like sacredness, holines…
= Allya? (for all?)
= Catryna / [name]Catalyna[/name]? (from [name]Catherine[/name] = pure, like saints…)
=Halya (from hallowed?)
=Lemurya? (apparently, Lemuria is a name for the pagan holiday All [name]Saint[/name]‘s is thought to adapt from…not for the faint of heart, it’s odd, and a lemur is a kind of monkey …)
=[name]Gregorya[/name]? (Pope [name]Gregory[/name] declared the first All Saints’ day on its current date)
=Ofrynda? (from offerings being made on all saints…)
=Florya? (from taking flowers to the graves of the dead…)
=Velya (from vela, for the candles burned…)
=Domynga? (for holiness)

Good luck!

[name]Tasya[/name]? [name]Satyana[/name]?

Or maybe [name]Toya[/name]? Or you could spell [name]Tirzah[/name] with a y - [name]Tyrzah[/name] or Tyrza?

Toussainte is the feminine version of [name]Toussaint[/name] (which is actually unisex but very rarely used for girls) Its not considered very stylish and is hardly used anymore (Im assuming mainly for babies born on Nov 1st) but I sort of like it. I wouldnt try and replace one of the letters with a Y though, it would only be harder for most people to spell and seeing as it has religious connotations it might offend some.

What about [name]Bryssa[/name]? A twist on the Spanish version of [name]Brissa[/name].

Fiorenzia- italian form of [name]Florence[/name] and has the y sound. Fiorenzia [name]Frances[/name]. Personally I prefer [name]Florencia[/name] over Fiorenzia but I hope I helped.

cassia is beautiful. i suppose you could change the spelling like you have with your other girls.
same with:
natal(y)a,
gisella
nyasia
amaya
eliana
liliana
to honour your brother i think francesca/francisca would be beautiful.
congratulations and good luck.

I have a beautiful suggestion

[name]Yolanda[/name] and it means violet I think that this is an elegant, classy and sophisticated name.

Otherwise I suggest [name]Ysabel[/name].

rollo

I second rollo’s suggestions. Perfect for your heritage and theme.

names4real - Thanks for the feedback! Funny you mention [name]Alyssa[/name] because that is my name : ) Also, [name]Lilyana[/name] and [name]Layla[/name] have been on our top 10 list…Our minds our thinking alike : ) [name]Brynna[/name] is very cute and it reminds me of another name on my list which is, [name]Bryssa[/name]. [name]Dayana[/name] is pretty too…Though I have never heard of it, it reminds me of my mother’s name, [name]Deyanira[/name].

I’ve checked out your website…Would you mind helping me somemore if you have some time? I can email you directly if you prefer?

Thanks again!

@jesba - [name]Catalyna[/name] is beautiful so is Domynga and Santyna. I’ve been very fond of names ending with alina. As much as I want to change the I to a Y, I don’t want to butcher a perfectly beautiful name. Thanks so much for your efforts and time!

@thetxbelle - Thank you so much for sharing Toussainte with me! Would you say Toussainte or [name]Toussaint[/name] is more stylish or appealing for a girl’s middle name?

@mdowdy75 - [name]Bryssa[/name] is a name that I loved the first time I heard it a few months ago. I’m just not sure if it means breeze in Spanish or if it has to do with Briseis the woman [name]Achilles[/name] loved in [name]Homer[/name]'s Iliad? [name]Do[/name] you know anymore about the origins of [name]Bryssa[/name]? Thanks for sharing!!!

@okparks - You are right, I do prefer [name]Florencia[/name] to Florenzia too! Thanks for the suggestion!

@auntshann - [name]Natalya[/name] is beautiful but is my cousins name so that will not work. [name]Lilyana[/name] is on my top 10 list! [name]How[/name] do you pronounce [name]Nyasia[/name]? I’ve never seen or heard of that before? I’ve seen [name]Amaya[/name] on other posts…What does it mean? [name]Amaya[/name] is beautiful too…I wanted to name my oldest daughter [name]Maya[/name] but too many people shot it down at the time and that is why I came up with [name]Marya[/name]. I also agree [name]Francesca[/name] is beautiful too and I believe it is going to become very trendy! Thanks again!

@rollo and @saracita00 - Thanks for the feedback. My mother adores the name Yzabella!!! If she had it her way, the baby would have been named Yzabella two weeks ago. Here’s the things, we both love the name [name]Izabella[/name] and it’s meaning. I just feel that the name is so very popular and I am scared she will be one of a class full of Isabellas. [name]How[/name] do you feel about this? I’ve been truly torn on this name for too long! I’m so happy you shared this with me. I should have posted on here weeks ago for help. Thank you for your time and consideration.

@rollo - Also I see you suggested [name]Ysabel[/name] vs. [name]Isabel[/name]…Is that due to my spanish/italian heritage? Or do you just prefer that spelling? Thanks.

I’ve always thought Amarilla would make a pretty name, you could possibly change the i to y to Amarylla i don’t know if that changes the pronunciation in spanish?

Theres also:
[name]Aya[/name]- hebrew word for bird
[name]Ayala[/name]- means ‘doe or gazelle’ hebrew
[name]Ayla[/name]
[name]Chaya[/name]
[name]Freya[/name]
[name]Inaya[/name]
Kalyana
[name]Lyra[/name]
[name]Priya[/name]
[name]Shyla[/name]
[name]Soraya[/name]
[name]Surya[/name] ‘sun’ in sanskrit
Syringa
[name]Yara[/name]- small butterfly arabic
Yakira ‘precious’ hebrew
[name]Yesenia[/name] (I [name]LOVE[/name] this name)
Zumaya- barn owl

I would say Toussainte is most appropriate of the two for a girls name, very few girls have the other spelling so it is probably deemed a boys name. I also think it looks cuter for a girl!

No problem. You can email me or message me here and I’d be happy to help.

[name]Sarah[/name]

Hydalia Toussainte would be lovely. She could use [name]Dalia[/name] as a nn.
Frayna Hidali? Good luck!

My favorite girl names are [name]Hannah[/name], [name]Brynlee[/name], [name]Alyssa[/name], [name]Charlotte[/name] & [name]Ava[/name]! Good luck
