Help me sort out some crushes?

Hey, Berries!

I have a rather mammoth list of crushes I’ve been working my way through, and could use some help processing through them, if you have the heart to do so? [name_m]General[/name_m] thoughts, impressions as to what these girls would be like, whether you can see me using it (if you’re familiar enough with me!), combo ideas if you’re so moved, whether it fits with my current style, your favorites–you certainly don’t have to comment on ALL those things, but whatever you feel so moved to do would be a big help! My list is starting to get unruly, and just talking my crushes out is a big help to me.

Aava/[name_f]Aviva[/name_f]
[name_f]Cecilia[/name_f]
[name_f]Felicity[/name_f] (nn Cici or [name_u]Izzy[/name_u], probably. I’ve had my heart set on [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_f]Emmanuelle[/name_f] for a while, but I have been liking [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_f]Greta[/name_f] lately, too?)
[name_f]Georgia[/name_f]/[name_f]Georgina[/name_f]/[name_f]Giorgia[/name_f] (I don’t know why I love [name_f]Giorgia[/name_f] so much, but I do! Probably not practical, but anyhow.)
[name_f]Greta[/name_f]
[name_f]Hania[/name_f]
[name_f]Irene[/name_f]
[name_f]Julia[/name_f]
Kailei
[name_f]Madelaine[/name_f]
[name_f]Magdalen[/name_f]
[name_f]Masha[/name_f]
[name_f]Michalina[/name_f]/[name_f]Michelina[/name_f]
[name_f]Mira[/name_f]/[name_f]Mira[/name_f]-[name_f]Jane[/name_f]
Mirai
[name_f]Oona[/name_f]
[name_f]Tirzah[/name_f]
[name_f]Vienna[/name_f]

I’m hoping that’s it, but it’s gotten to be large enough that I can’t remember them all at once, so I’m probably forgetting some. Thanks in advance for all your help, berries!

[name_u]Ash[/name_u]

P.S. If it’s helpful, the names currently on my list are [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f], [name_f]Adele[/name_f], [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] “[name_f]Eva[/name_f]”, [name_f]Violet[/name_f], [name_f]Grace[/name_f], [name_f]Claire[/name_f], [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], [name_f]Audrey[/name_f], [name_f]Eleni[/name_f], [name_f]Zoe[/name_f], [name_f]Tessa[/name_f], [name_f]Arianne[/name_f], [name_f]Olivia[/name_f], [name_f]Hazel[/name_f], [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f], [name_f]Daisy[/name_f], [name_f]Ayla[/name_f], [name_f]Luella[/name_f], [name_f]Maris[/name_f], and [name_u]Tali[/name_u], if that gives you a general idea of the names I love.

Aava/[name_f]Aviva[/name_f] - Not sure how to pronounce Aava, but [name_f]Aviva[/name_f] is pretty. It reminds me of birds, Avian, but that’s not a bad association.
[name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] - I like this name. It’s pretty and has great nickname options, Cici, Cecy, [name_f]Lia[/name_f], Cilia. I really like Cici for a young child, and [name_f]Lia[/name_f] when she’s older.
[name_f]Felicity[/name_f] (nn Cici or [name_u]Izzy[/name_u], probably. I’ve had my heart set on [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_f]Emmanuelle[/name_f] for a while, but I have been liking [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_f]Greta[/name_f] lately, too?) - both nicknames work well. The only [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] I knew went by [name_f]Flick[/name_f], which is cool. [name_f]Emmanuelle[/name_f] is a good middle name, but I’m not a fan of [name_f]Greta[/name_f]. It sounds very harsh to me.
[name_f]Georgia[/name_f]/[name_f]Georgina[/name_f]/[name_f]Giorgia[/name_f] (I don’t know why I love [name_f]Giorgia[/name_f] so much, but I do! Probably not practical, but anyhow.) - this is one of those names that I don’t like for no real reason. Sorry. I just feel like [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] is an annoying, needy child who pushes past other kids in the classroom or park to get what she wants.
[name_f]Greta[/name_f] - too harsh of a name for me. While it brings to mind [name_m]Hansel[/name_m] and [name_f]Gretel[/name_f], it mainly makes me think of the evil old witch, not the innocent child.
[name_f]Hania[/name_f] - this is cute. Not a name I have heard before. Makes me think of blonde pigtails and playing in the field. I guess kinda like [name_f]Heidi[/name_f].
[name_f]Irene[/name_f] - sounds very middle aged to me. Also reminds me of [name_f]Irene[/name_f] Addler
[name_f]Julia[/name_f] - both [name_f]Julia[/name_f] and [name_u]Julie[/name_u] were very common where I live about 50 years ago, so it reminds me of middle aged women.
Kailei - not sure if this is pronounced like [name_f]Kylie[/name_f] or [name_f]Kayleigh[/name_f]. Either way, could cause some spelling and pronunciation issues, depending doing on where you live.
[name_f]Madelaine[/name_f] - a nice name, though reminds me of [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] McCann. Also magdalena cakes.
[name_f]Magdalen[/name_f] - same as above
[name_f]Masha[/name_f] - sweet, but but feels like a nickname
[name_f]Michalina[/name_f]/[name_f]Michelina[/name_f] - I’m not familiar with this name, but I feel like it could grow on me.
[name_f]Mira[/name_f]/[name_f]Mira[/name_f]-[name_f]Jane[/name_f] - I like [name_f]Mira[/name_f]. It’s nice. She feels smart and considerate. I picture I hardworking teenager who is always there for her friends. I’m not really a fan of hyphenated first names.
Mirai - not my style, but I can imagine a lot of people on nameberry liking this one
[name_f]Oona[/name_f] - too unusual for me. I don’t like the look of the double O. The sound is okay
[name_f]Tirzah[/name_f] - this is interesting. I think I’ve seen it before in nameberry, but it’s quite uncommon. I like the sound and look of this one.
[name_f]Vienna[/name_f] - very pretty name, but tied to the cut for me. And viennetta icecream

I feel like I know you comfortably enough to gauge whether or not I see you using some names so here we go :stuck_out_tongue:

Since I’m on mobile, typing large amounts of text is a little tricky on here, but I can elaborate further later on if you’d like!

I’ve sorted them into categories;

100% Can See As [name_u]Ash[/name_u]’s [name_u]Future[/name_u] LO;

[name_f]Felicity[/name_f]
[name_f]Julia[/name_f]
[name_f]Madelaine[/name_f]
[name_f]Mira[/name_f]/[name_f]Mira[/name_f]-[name_f]Jane[/name_f]
Mirai
[name_f]Vienna[/name_f]

Potential Fits (It works but not as well as the others);

[name_f]Aviva[/name_f]
[name_f]Cecilia[/name_f]
Aava/[name_f]Aviva[/name_f]
[name_f]Cecilia[/name_f]
[name_f]Georgia[/name_f]/[name_f]Giorgia[/name_f]
[name_f]Greta[/name_f]
[name_f]Irene[/name_f]
[name_f]Magdalen[/name_f]

Can’t See You Using It;
Aava
[name_f]Georgina[/name_f]
[name_f]Hania[/name_f]
Kailei
[name_f]Masha[/name_f]
[name_f]Michalina[/name_f]/[name_f]Michelina[/name_f]
[name_f]Oona[/name_f]
[name_f]Tirzah[/name_f]

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] that helps!

I can definitely see the potential of you using; [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f], [name_f]Felicity[/name_f], [name_f]Georgia[/name_f], [name_f]Georgina[/name_f], [name_f]Greta[/name_f], [name_f]Irene[/name_f], [name_f]Julia[/name_f], [name_f]Madelaine[/name_f], and [name_f]Mira[/name_f]. Maybe [name_f]Vienna[/name_f].

My personal favorites are [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] and [name_f]Madelaine[/name_f]. [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] could grow on me. I wish it had a better meaning. I don’t always care but this one bothers me. I find [name_f]Mira[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] charming.

Aava/[name_f]Aviva[/name_f] - I’m afraid Aava will be mistaken for [name_f]Ava[/name_f], and [name_f]Aviva[/name_f] is lovely.
[name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] - Personally, I can’t get over the meaning of [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f], but if you can, it would be a lovely choice. My favorite variation is [name_f]Cicely[/name_f], but [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] is pretty too.
[name_f]Felicity[/name_f] (nn Cici or [name_u]Izzy[/name_u], probably. I’ve had my heart set on [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_f]Emmanuelle[/name_f] for a while, but I have been liking [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_f]Greta[/name_f] lately, too?) - [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] is a bit bland for my taste, but I still think it’s a very sweet-sounding name. I really like [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_f]Greta[/name_f] “[name_u]Izzy[/name_u]”, and have you considered Fliss? I just read a book with a [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] “Fliss”, and I thought it was a great nickname option.
[name_f]Georgia[/name_f]/[name_f]Georgina[/name_f]/[name_f]Giorgia[/name_f] (I don’t know why I love [name_f]Giorgia[/name_f] so much, but I do! Probably not practical, but anyhow.) - I really like [name_f]Georgia[/name_f]. I can’t use it because it’s just too American for someone with no ties to the USA whatsoever, but I love it for somebody else’s child. [name_f]Georgina[/name_f] seems unnecessarily frilly to me.
[name_f]Greta[/name_f] - [name_f]Greta[/name_f] is sweet, but then I’d assume her parents were [name_m]German[/name_m] or maybe Lithuanian? I don’t know, it’s just dificult for me to picture it on someone out of European context.
[name_f]Hania[/name_f] - I’ve never heard it before and I’m afraid I don’t really like it. However, I assume it’s Biblical, and I know your faith is very important to you, so why not honor it with a Biblical name like [name_f]Hania[/name_f]? All in all, it’s a yes from me.
[name_f]Irene[/name_f] - I have negative personal associations with [name_f]Irene[/name_f], but there is nothing objectively wrong with it. I like the idea for using it as a middle for some longer name, say, [name_f]Tatiana[/name_f] [name_f]Irene[/name_f]?
[name_f]Julia[/name_f] - Not a fan, but it does seem to fit your style.
Kailei - I think it’s too complicated, sorry. Is it pronounced like [name_f]Kylie[/name_f]? Frankly speaking, I believe that you have much more interesting options on your list.
[name_f]Madelaine[/name_f] - Not my style, but I could grow on me, and I can definitely picture you with a little [name_f]Madelaine[/name_f].
[name_f]Magdalen[/name_f] - I adore [name_f]Magdalen[/name_f] (and [name_f]Magda[/name_f] and [name_f]Magdalena[/name_f]), it’s gorgeous.
[name_f]Masha[/name_f] - I would prefer [name_f]Maria[/name_f] “[name_f]Masha[/name_f]”, I just not used to [name_f]Masha[/name_f] being a full name, I suppose. All the Mashas I’ve met were actually Marias.
[name_f]Michalina[/name_f]/[name_f]Michelina[/name_f] - Not bad, but it seems kind of dated? For some reason, I can only picture it on a girl wearing 80s clothing and frosty eyeshadow. I like Mikhalina, though.
[name_f]Mira[/name_f]/[name_f]Mira[/name_f]-[name_f]Jane[/name_f] - It seems very [name_u]Ash[/name_u], so why not?
Mirai - I prefer [name_f]Mira[/name_f].
[name_f]Oona[/name_f] - I like it a lot, both [name_f]Oona[/name_f] and [name_f]Una[/name_f] spellings. Very
[name_f]Tirzah[/name_f] - I want to like it but it makes me think of animals, as Tiere is [name_m]German[/name_m] for animals. It’s not a bad name, though.
[name_f]Vienna[/name_f] - I like [name_f]Vienna[/name_f], it’s a beautiful city and a lovely name.

My personal favorites:
[name_f]Georgia[/name_f]
[name_f]Magdalen[/name_f]
[name_f]Oona[/name_f]
[name_f]Vienna[/name_f]

My favorites for you:
[name_f]Felicity[/name_f]
[name_f]Julia[/name_f]
[name_f]Hania[/name_f]
[name_f]Magdalen[/name_f]
[name_f]Mira[/name_f]

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.

Here are my thoughts:

Aava/[name_f]Aviva[/name_f]-Is Aava just said like [name_f]Ava[/name_f]? or ‘[name_m]Ah[/name_m]-vuh’? Either way it’s confusing. I like [name_f]Aviva[/name_f]! So pretty. [name_u]Unique[/name_u], yet not overly complicated. She sounds like a nice girl w/a little flair. Especially w/the spunky nn of [name_f]Vivie[/name_f].

[name_f]Cecilia[/name_f]-This is fine. I like it, but it doesn’t sparkle.

[name_f]Felicity[/name_f]-I love [name_f]Felicity[/name_f]! It’s on my top list these days. It’s so whimsical, yet classic at the same time. Not a huge fan of Cici, as it’s over done and just sort of too cutesy. I like [name_u]Izzy[/name_u], but it’s a stretch. [name_m]How[/name_m] about Fliss?

[name_f]Georgia[/name_f]/[name_f]Georgina[/name_f]/[name_f]Giorgia[/name_f] -Hm. I kind of like the [name_f]Giorgia[/name_f] spelling better too. Would be more likely to use it if you had Italian heritage though. [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] is fine, & the nn [name_u]Georgie[/name_u] is adorable. [name_f]Gigi[/name_f] is also nice. I like [name_f]Georgina[/name_f] best of the three. It’s a little fancier, and way less common. I like [name_f]Georgiana[/name_f] even more though.

[name_f]Greta[/name_f]-I love it! On my top five list. [name_m]How[/name_m] could you not love a [name_f]Greta[/name_f]? She’s down to earth w/a little spunk too. I’m obsessed w/the nn [name_f]Gerty[/name_f].

[name_f]Hania[/name_f]-This is a little confusing. Kind of sounds like hernia.

[name_f]Irene[/name_f]-This has a really creepy personal association for me. It sounds kind of screechy too.

[name_f]Julia[/name_f]-This is fine. While we’re talking about Italian spellings, I like [name_f]Giulia[/name_f] so much more. Then you could do the nn [name_f]Gigi[/name_f] instead of [name_u]Julie[/name_u].

Kailei-This is confusing too. It appears to be an Hawaiian name, but it just blends into all of the trendy ‘K’ names these days.

[name_f]Madelaine[/name_f]-I love this, but prefer [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] or [name_f]Madeline[/name_f]. [name_f]Madelaine[/name_f] looks like it should be said Mad-uh-lane. That’s not right, is it?

[name_f]Magdalen[/name_f]-This has a super strong association. Not a bad one, just something to note. I think that [name_f]Magdalena[/name_f] sounds much prettier.

[name_f]Masha[/name_f]-That just reminds me of mashed potatoes.

[name_f]Michalina[/name_f]/[name_f]Michelina[/name_f]-A little weird. Reminds me of the Michelin man.

[name_f]Mira[/name_f]/[name_f]Mira[/name_f]-[name_f]Jane[/name_f]-I like [name_f]Mira[/name_f] as a nn for [name_f]Miriam[/name_f]/[name_f]Mirabel[/name_f]/Miriella/[name_f]Mirabella[/name_f]/[name_f]Miranda[/name_f]. I guess it’s okay as a full name. I in general don’t care for hyphenated names, but [name_f]Mira[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] as a fn/mn combo is lovely.

Mirai-Not sure about this. Not familiar with it.

[name_f]Oona[/name_f]-This is kind of cool.

[name_f]Tirzah[/name_f]-I just hear the weird ‘tears’.

[name_f]Vienna[/name_f]-It’s okay. Not my favorite. A little over dramatic maybe.

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps.

Aava/[name_f]Aviva[/name_f] -i like [name_f]Aviva[/name_f], lively, bright and funky. Modern but with history

[name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] - adore the flow and flair of [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f]! It’s lovely

[name_f]Felicity[/name_f]- [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] is a fave of mine. [name_m]Light[/name_m], girly, frilly but also full of joy. [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_f]Greta[/name_f] is brilliant-it adds something rugged to the name. Also nn [name_u]Izzy[/name_u] is great

[name_f]Hania[/name_f] -is this han-ee-uh or Han-eye-uh? I’m not sure on either tbh, it feels a tad awkward

[name_f]Irene[/name_f] -[name_f]Irene[/name_f], with it’s various pronunciations, has really grown on me! It’s sharp and succinct, vintage but also fresh feeling

[name_f]Julia[/name_f] -charming, a little dated but also full of life

Kailei - is this [name_u]Kay[/name_u]-lee, [name_m]Ky[/name_m]-lee, [name_m]Ky[/name_m]-lay, [name_u]Kay[/name_u]-[name_m]Lay[/name_m]?It has an appealing look

[name_f]Madelaine[/name_f] -love the flow of this - familiar but with a bit of extra flair

[name_f]Magdalen[/name_f] - I enjoy the sounds but I prefer the look of [name_f]Magdalene[/name_f]

[name_f]Masha[/name_f] -love this as a nn!

[name_f]Michalina[/name_f]/[name_f]Michelina[/name_f] - not a big fan.

[name_f]Mira[/name_f]/[name_f]Mira[/name_f]-[name_f]Jane[/name_f] -love both! I feel [name_f]Mira[/name_f] is more you but [name_f]Mira[/name_f]-[name_f]Jane[/name_f] is stunning

Mirai -intriguing, I quite like it

[name_f]Oona[/name_f] -love this and I enjoy this spelling too! [name_f]Una[/name_f] is more my style but [name_f]Oona[/name_f] has flair

[name_f]Tirzah[/name_f] -kind of like it, but I’m not 100% on the sounds. I’ll have to think on it

[name_f]Vienna[/name_f] -sleek and pretty. I enjoy it

[name_f]Georgia[/name_f] -this is my favourite of the ones you listed. [name_f]Georgina[/name_f] is a little fussy for me yet I like [name_f]Georgiana[/name_f] (I’m aware that makes no sense).

[name_f]Greta[/name_f] -rugged yet sweet, warm feeling and homely?

I think [name_f]Greta[/name_f], [name_f]Georgia[/name_f], [name_f]Felicity[/name_f], [name_f]Mira[/name_f]/[name_f]Mira[/name_f]-[name_f]Jane[/name_f], [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f], [name_f]Magdalen[/name_f] and [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] fit well with your list!

Some quick combo ideas
[name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_f]Oona[/name_f], [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] [name_f]Magdalen[/name_f], [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] ‘[name_f]Masha[/name_f]’, [name_f]Mira[/name_f]-[name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_f]Cecily[/name_f], [name_f]Greta[/name_f] [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f], [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_f]Vienna[/name_f], [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] [name_f]Irene[/name_f]

Aava/[name_f]Aviva[/name_f] - [name_f]Aviva[/name_f] is so pretty! But here in the UK it’s the name of an insurance company so unfortunately that’s all I think of when I hear it :frowning: I’ve not heard Aava before - is it [name_f]Ava[/name_f]? or [name_m]Ah[/name_m]-va? I’m not a fan of the way it appears, I’m afraid.

[name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] - I went through a phase where I loved this but I’m going off her again. There is something attractive about her, and Ceci is an adorable nickname, but I don’t love her.

[name_f]Felicity[/name_f] - I’ve never liked [name_f]Felicity[/name_f]. I don’t know why, but it’s always made me cringe. I’m not a fan of either of your combo suggestions, but [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] would be nice.

[name_f]Georgia[/name_f]/[name_f]Georgina[/name_f]/[name_f]Giorgia[/name_f] - Slightly prefer [name_f]Georgina[/name_f], but [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] is also very sweet. I don’t really see the appeal of [name_f]Giorgia[/name_f] and think it would open up to a lot of confusion.

[name_f]Greta[/name_f] - Not my style, a bit something-or-nothing really.

[name_f]Hania[/name_f]- I don’t like this. It looks made up and I don’t really get it.

[name_f]Irene[/name_f] - Too outdated. [name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Iona[/name_f]?

[name_f]Julia[/name_f] - Very mumsy. I would be surprised to see it on a little one these days.

Kailei - Is this [name_f]Kayley[/name_f]? [name_f]Kylie[/name_f]? I don’t see the reason for the confusing spelling.

[name_f]Madelaine[/name_f] - Not a fan. I’ve never liked [name_f]Madeline[/name_f], and this is just a bit fancier. I do like [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f] though, but I guess that’s more trendy.

[name_f]Masha[/name_f] - Definitely not. I just see mash.

[name_f]Michalina[/name_f]/[name_f]Michelina[/name_f] - I don’t see any appeal in either of these.

[name_f]Mira[/name_f]/[name_f]Mira[/name_f]-[name_f]Jane[/name_f] - [name_f]Mira[/name_f] is cute. I don’t really like double barrelled names, but [name_f]Mira[/name_f]-[name_f]Jane[/name_f] is okay.

Mirai - Another one that’s a bit confusing written down.

[name_f]Oona[/name_f] - I would personally prefer [name_f]Una[/name_f].

[name_f]Tirzah[/name_f] - The z in this looks a little harsh to me.

[name_f]Vienna[/name_f] - This is sweet. My #1 is [name_f]Sienna[/name_f], so this definitely has some appeal to me at least.

Thanks, everyone!

[name_m]Just[/name_m] a few clarifications on pronunciations/origins:

Aava - this is ah-ah-vah, which is probably too complicated for American ears, but I am such a sucker for Finnish names!
Kailei - a Hawaiian name said like kye-[name_m]LAY[/name_m].
[name_f]Hania[/name_f] - this is a Polish diminutive of [name_f]Hannah[/name_f], a bit like [name_f]Anya[/name_f] or [name_f]Anja[/name_f] for [name_f]Anna[/name_f].
[name_f]Masha[/name_f] - while yes, this is a diminutive of [name_f]Maria[/name_f], it’s also a feminization of [name_m]Moshe[/name_m]/[name_m]Moses[/name_m] in Hebrew (I’m not 100% on that, but I did read it somewhere) in its own right. With my middle name being [name_f]Marie[/name_f], it seems weird to use [name_f]Maria[/name_f], and I can see [name_f]Masha[/name_f] standing on its own due to its Hebrew origins, too? But I can see why some would find it nicknamey. But if [name_u]Misha[/name_u] and [name_u]Sasha[/name_u] can stand on their own, why not [name_f]Masha[/name_f]?

[name_u]Haley[/name_u] and [name_u]Jean[/name_u] - you crack me up! The ones I see me using are totally different from the ones you see me using, and you both seem to agree, for the most part! I see me most likely using [name_f]Georgia[/name_f], [name_f]Magdalen[/name_f], [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f], [name_f]Hania[/name_f], [name_f]Masha[/name_f], one of the [name_f]Mira[/name_f] names, [name_f]Tirzah[/name_f], maybe [name_f]Julia[/name_f] or [name_f]Oona[/name_f]. I love seeing the way you see me, lovelies!

@[name_u]Jean[/name_u] - eh, I hear that a lot, but I actually love it! [name_m]Jesus[/name_m] loved to heal the blind, [name_m]Jesus[/name_m] had the most beautiful and optimistic view on handicaps of everyone in His time and culture, and He defined His ministry by walking among the outcasts and healing the brokenhearted. [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] just reminds me of the goodness and kindness of [name_m]Jesus[/name_m]. So I have no issue with the meaning of blind–it just reminds me of the faith I love so much. Plus, I love the idea of being blind to prejudice, blind to hatred, blind to evil–not in the sense that you ignore that it exists, but to ignore its power over me! I want to love and care like there’s no need to even take it into consideration, see the good in all people, and love them all.

@moonstone - [name_f]Hania[/name_f] is a step away from being a religious name–a Polish diminutive of [name_f]Hannah[/name_f]–but I appreciate the thought behind approving [name_f]Hania[/name_f]! :stuck_out_tongue: It’s one of my favorite Polish names, and one that seems infinitely more usable than Krzyzstof (sp?), [name_f]Krystyna[/name_f], [name_f]Katarzyna[/name_f], or [name_m]Eliasz[/name_m]. And I agree that [name_f]Irene[/name_f] works best with a long and delicate name! I fell in love with [name_f]Irene[/name_f] Maialen [name_f]Sofia[/name_f], but don’t know that I’m ready to put [name_f]Irene[/name_f] up front yet. I’ve been considering [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Irene[/name_f] or [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Irene[/name_f] [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f]? I love the [name_m]French[/name_m] (ee-REHN) and Spanish (ee-reh-neh) pronunciations of [name_f]Irene[/name_f]–so much prettier than the English form! And sadly, I am NOT a fan of most common nns for [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] (Fliss, [name_f]Flick[/name_f], Lissy, etc.). Fizzy always seemed interesting on [name_m]Louis[/name_m] [name_m]Tomlinson[/name_m]'s sister, so I figured [name_u]Izzy[/name_u] could work just as well? And I just love Cici period…

@michellem - I [name_f]DO[/name_f] have a little bit of Italian ancestry, but not nearly so much as a few other nationalities, like English/Scottish/Irish and [name_m]German[/name_m]. Not enough that I feel like I can claim it to honor my [name_f]Nonna[/name_f] [name_f]Maria[/name_f] or anything, le sigh. And lol! [name_f]Michalina[/name_f]/[name_f]Michelina[/name_f] (one’s Polish, the other’s Italian) are said like mee-keh-[name_u]LEE[/name_u]-nah.

@greyblue - [name_f]Hania[/name_f] is like [name_f]Anja[/name_f]/[name_f]Anya[/name_f] with an “H” on the front. :slight_smile: And [name_f]Greta[/name_f] [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] is cute! Not sure I could give up [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Poppy[/name_f], but I do like it. I’d actually considered [name_f]Greta[/name_f] [name_f]Emmanuelle[/name_f].

Still processing, in general, but I appreciate all the thoughts and advice! A lot of these will probably be middle names–[name_f]Tirzah[/name_f], [name_f]Oona[/name_f], Mirai, Aava/[name_f]Aviva[/name_f], maybe even [name_f]Magdalen[/name_f]–although some I would consider up front, too.

Of your list, my favorites are:

[name_f]Aviva[/name_f]
[name_f]Cecilia[/name_f]
[name_f]Felicity[/name_f] ([name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_f]Emmanuelle[/name_f])
[name_f]Irene[/name_f]
[name_f]Julia[/name_f]
[name_f]Madelaine[/name_f]
[name_f]Mira[/name_f]/[name_f]Mira[/name_f]-[name_f]Jane[/name_f]

Can I also suggest [name_u]Mischa[/name_u]? It seems like a good alternative choice for [name_f]Masha[/name_f].

Thanks for the suggestion! I appreciate the effort. Unfortunately, [name_u]Misha[/name_u] is uber masculine to me, almost like naming my daughter [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] or [name_m]Henry[/name_m]. I’ve never seen the appeal of [name_u]Misha[/name_u] on a girl, even though it’s popular enough. I love the Russian and Hebrew origins with [name_f]Masha[/name_f], how it’s tied to my own name (it seems to be the perfect combination of [name_u]Ashley[/name_u] and [name_f]Marie[/name_f]!), and how it reminds me of my grandmother’s time in [name_f]Russia[/name_f], which she loved. There’s so many special things about [name_f]Masha[/name_f], for me, and [name_u]Misha[/name_u] doesn’t hold a candle to it. I appreciate your heart and your desire to help me out. :stuck_out_tongue: I’m always up for new suggestions; [name_u]Misha[/name_u] just happens to be one I’m not into at all, unfortunately!

Aava/[name_f]Aviva[/name_f]: Is Aava pronounced like [name_f]Ava[/name_f]? I think I would go with the simpler spelling. [name_f]Aviva[/name_f] is lovely though
[name_f]Cecilia[/name_f]: I think this name sounds beautiful. I normally don’t care too much about meanings, but don’t love this one’s meaning
[name_f]Felicity[/name_f] (nn Cici or [name_u]Izzy[/name_u], probably. I’ve had my heart set on [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_f]Emmanuelle[/name_f] for a while, but I have been liking [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_f]Greta[/name_f] lately, too?): feels very dated to me because I very strongly associate the name with the American Girl doll, but I know it’s been getting popular and it does go well with your other names. [name_u]Izzy[/name_u] is a bit of a stretch but Cici is nice. [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_f]Emmanuelle[/name_f] is gorgeous.
[name_f]Georgia[/name_f]/[name_f]Georgina[/name_f]/[name_f]Giorgia[/name_f] (I don’t know why I love [name_f]Giorgia[/name_f] so much, but I do! Probably not practical, but anyhow.): I find [name_f]Georgina[/name_f] too frilly for my tastes and it’s a bit frilly compared to your list too imo. [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] is beautiful, but I do think [name_f]Giorgia[/name_f] is usable too!
[name_f]Greta[/name_f]: harsh sounding to my ears but I knew one that makes this name a little nicer to me.
[name_f]Hania[/name_f]: not sure how this is pronounced…
[name_f]Irene[/name_f]: beautiful though I prefer [name_f]Irena[/name_f]
[name_f]Julia[/name_f]: cute
Kailei: not sure how it’s pronounced… I also don’t feel that it matches your list that well
[name_f]Madelaine[/name_f]: is this pronounced differently than [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f]? I’m imagining mad [name_f]Elaine[/name_f], which is not a great pronunciation imo.
[name_f]Magdalen[/name_f]: beautiful!!! (Also I love this spelling much more than [name_f]Magdalene[/name_f] )
[name_f]Masha[/name_f]: looks like mashed potatoes to me sorry
[name_f]Michalina[/name_f]/[name_f]Michelina[/name_f]: frilly to me and doesn’t match your list that well
[name_f]Mira[/name_f]/[name_f]Mira[/name_f]-[name_f]Jane[/name_f]: I prefer just [name_f]Mira[/name_f], which is lovely
Mirai: is this by any chance inspired by Mirai Nagasu? [name_u]Love[/name_u] her and love the name! I don’t find it that visually appealing tbh but looove the way it’s said
[name_f]Oona[/name_f]: The Oo makes it a little blobby? (sorry) looking, I prefer the spelling [name_f]Una[/name_f]
[name_f]Tirzah[/name_f]: sounds gorgeous though I don’t love the way it looks
[name_f]Vienna[/name_f]: looooooooove!

I can definitely see you using [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f], [name_f]Felicity[/name_f], [name_f]Georgia[/name_f], [name_f]Julia[/name_f], [name_f]Madelaine[/name_f] and maybe [name_f]Aviva[/name_f]. I don’t think [name_f]Hania[/name_f], [name_f]Irene[/name_f], Kailei, [name_f]Masha[/name_f], Mirai, [name_f]Oona[/name_f] and [name_f]Tirzah[/name_f] ‘fit’ with your style. I’m uncertain with the rest, but I think I’d also add [name_f]Michalina[/name_f]/[name_f]Michelina[/name_f] with the “does not fit” list.

My favourites are [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f], [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] and [name_f]Georgia[/name_f]. [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_f]Greta[/name_f] is also super cute, but so is [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_f]Emmanuelle[/name_f] and I could see the latter being used by yourself over the former.

@eireann - Thank you! I can see why you wouldn’t think [name_f]Tirzah[/name_f] and the others aren’t really me–most of those would be middles, if anything, so. [name_f]Hania[/name_f], [name_f]Masha[/name_f], and [name_f]Tirzah[/name_f] are the only ones I may consider up front? [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] is a special family name, though, and [name_f]Tirzah[/name_f] comes from two of my very favorite stories. [name_f]Masha[/name_f] I’ve inexplicably fallen for, but realistically would probably only use as a nn. As [name_f]Marie[/name_f] is my own middle, I have always been hesitant about [name_f]Maria[/name_f], and I’ve considered [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] nn [name_f]Masha[/name_f], but it DOES seem like a pretty huge stretch! And yes, lol, I agree that [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_f]Emmanuelle[/name_f] is more me! I rejected it initially because I couldn’t find a family name I liked with it… I think [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_f]Emmanuelle[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]/[name_f]Kate[/name_f] were the top contenders, but I don’t really like ANYTHING after Emmaneulle? I did love [name_f]Emmanuelle[/name_f] [name_f]Georgina[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f] at one point, but I think [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_f]Emmanuelle[/name_f] [name_f]Georgina[/name_f] is a bit much. Maybe even [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_f]Emmanuelle[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f], but neither of those is as direct an honor as [name_f]Jane[/name_f] or [name_f]Kate[/name_f] would be, and [name_f]Iris[/name_f] is the only other roundabout honor.

@scater - haha, Aava is a Finnish name! Each “A” is pronounced. So it’s a bit like ah-ah-vah. And lol! It’s BECAUSE of the American girl doll that it feels delightfully vintage to me; dated would be [name_f]Arlene[/name_f], [name_f]Karen[/name_f], [name_f]Melanie[/name_f], or even [name_f]Samantha[/name_f], at this point. And [name_f]Hania[/name_f] is like [name_f]Anya[/name_f] with an “H” on the front. Theoretically, it’s like… [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] is to [name_f]Hania[/name_f] in Polish as [name_f]Anya[/name_f] is to [name_f]Anna[/name_f] in Russian? If that makes sense. Kailei is like kai-[name_m]LAY[/name_m]; I really love Hawaiian names for someone who really has no tie to the culture. I’d love to use Auli’i, Kailei, Kekoa/[name_m]Koa[/name_m], Iokua, [name_f]Anela[/name_f], etc., but feel like I’d get a bunch of side-eyes for doing so, haha! Which is why I usually try to tame it by going for something like [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] Kailei or [name_f]Violet[/name_f] Auli’i [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f], but I’d love to have a little Kailei [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] or a Auli’i [name_f]Olivia[/name_f]! And lol, I’m not too into the Olympics, which is why I never would’ve tied it to that Mirai, but I kept coming across Mirai, Miray, Ismerai when I was doing South American themed signatures for my footballer theme, and thought they might’ve been from some of the native peoples in South [name_u]America[/name_u], only to discover Mirai is Japanese and Miray is Turkish! I think Ismerai was a variant of Ismeria, a [name_u]Marian[/name_u] name, but anyhow. The damage has been done, and I’m in love! I don’t know what to do with her, though. I was thinking [name_f]Claire[/name_f] Mirai [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]/[name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f], but I’m leaning more toward [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Tirzah[/name_f] something at this point, so. And lol! I prefer [name_f]Oona[/name_f] because it makes me think of bubbles! I don’t blame you for having more negative impressions though lol!

Side note, what does everyone think of [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] Mirai? I’ve been thinking about adding [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] back, but am not so crazy about my former combo. I was thinking maybe [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] Mirai [name_f]Jane[/name_f], [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] Mirai [name_f]Helene[/name_f], [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] Mirai [name_f]Elise[/name_f], [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] Mirai [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f], or [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] Mirai [name_f]Noelle[/name_f]? Thanks, lovelies!

[name_f]Madelaine[/name_f], [name_f]Magdalen[/name_f], [name_f]Oona[/name_f] and [name_f]Vienna[/name_f] are ones to keep

Maybe consider the spelling variations of [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f], [name_f]Magdalena[/name_f] and [name_f]Una[/name_f]?
