Help me!

We just found out we’re pregnant. We cannot find any boy names we really like or anything that sticks out. We don’t know what we’re having yet so boy and girl names would be great! Our last name is [name_m]Mansfield[/name_m]. Our daughters name is [name_f]Aubrie[/name_f].

Some names we like but aren’t set on are…

[name_f]Lilah[/name_f] and [name_u]Peyton[/name_u] for a girl

We kind of like [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] but can’t figure out a middle name and [name_m]Lucas[/name_m]. And my husband likes [name_m]Eli[/name_m]. I’m not a big fan but don’t want to rule it out.

My sister in law wanted to name her daughter [name_u]Peyton[/name_u] but had a miscarriage before she even found out the gender. I’ve always loved that name and wanted to name my daughter that. Would it be terrible to name her that now?! Thanks guys

I love all of the names on your list!

[name_m]Levi[/name_m] & [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] also came to mind as possible boy names for you. They seem to strike a nice balance between [name_m]Lucas[/name_m], [name_m]Oliver[/name_m], and [name_m]Eli[/name_m]. Also, we (NB) would be happy to help you with middles for [name_m]Oliver[/name_m]… you have plenty of time.

For girls, I would suggest [name_f]Liana[/name_f] and [name_u]Piper[/name_u]. Oh, that does sound like a tough situation with [name_u]Peyton[/name_u]. Would it be possible for you to discuss this with your [name_m]SIL[/name_m]? If you cannot use it, I think [name_f]Lilah[/name_f] [name_u]Peyton[/name_u] would be a lovely name.

Good luck with everything

[name_m]Clayton[/name_m] instead of [name_u]Peyton[/name_u]? And I also think you should talk to her about it
[name_u]Elliot[/name_u], [name_m]Luke[/name_m], [name_f]Lola[/name_f], [name_f]Lulu[/name_f], [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] could be some other choices
It’s fairly easy to find a middle for a popular name like [name_m]Oliver[/name_m], I’m sure us on nb could help you like the pp said

[name_m]Hi[/name_m],

We are in the same situation with boys name, we just cannot seem to find any that we like, that are usable (we have plenty that we cannot use for one reason or another). So, we plan on finding out the gender at my 19 week scan (I’m 13 weeks now), and if it is a boy, we have plenty of time to really knuckle down and find a good name. If it’s a girl, we have the opposite problem, of liking too many names, it’s hard to choose.

From your list, I like [name_m]Eli[/name_m] and [name_m]Lucas[/name_m] best for boys, but if you both agree on [name_m]Oliver[/name_m], then you should go for it. There are loads of great middle name options for it. I also agree with the previous posters, that it might be best to talk with your [name_m]SIL[/name_m] about the name [name_u]Peyton[/name_u].

Here are some MN suggestions for [name_m]Oliver[/name_m]:

[name_m]Oliver[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u]
[name_m]Oliver[/name_m] [name_m]Mark[/name_m]
[name_m]Oliver[/name_m] [name_m]Luke[/name_m]
[name_m]Oliver[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]
[name_m]Oliver[/name_m] [name_u]Reed[/name_u]
[name_m]Oliver[/name_m] [name_m]Heath[/name_m]
[name_m]Oliver[/name_m] [name_u]Cameron[/name_u]
[name_m]Oliver[/name_m] [name_m]Silas[/name_m]
[name_m]Oliver[/name_m] [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m]
[name_m]Oliver[/name_m] [name_u]Hudson[/name_u]
[name_m]Oliver[/name_m] [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]

I feel like [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] is one of those names that lends itself to many options for middle names, it seems to flow quite well with both long and short names, but try saying it out loud with your surname to see how it sounds, as it might be too much of mouthful with all three names together!

Good luck.
