I’ve made countless lists but haven’t found “the one”. I’m open to new suggestions, or combos made with some of the following names I like, or even nickname suggestions. I need guidance. =) Last name starts with a T, two syllables.
Names I’m drawn to:
[name]Luna[/name] - the only one that has been on the list the entire pregnancy, I associate the word lunatic though which is why I’m unsure
[name]Josephine[/name] - the way it is, or nn [name]JoJo[/name], [name]Josie[/name]
[name]Pandora[/name] - love this one but husband is the one unsure, any cute nns?
Saphina - any nns?
[name]Seraphina[/name] or [name]Serafina[/name] etc - I don’t like [name]Sara[/name] as a nn, is this unavoidable?
[name]Seraphine[/name] - really loving this, but again don’t like [name]Sara[/name] as nn
[name]Saoirse[/name] - both of us [name]LOVE[/name] but we’re afraid of problems with pronunciation and spelling and possibly baby hating it later in life
[name]Minka[/name] - love, hubby is just ok with it, any names I can use to get [name]Minka[/name] as nn except [name]Wilhelmina[/name]?
[name]Rosalie[/name] or Rosealine - only as middle name
[name]Arcadia[/name] - is it too close to the word arcade or does it sound like a car?
[name]Violet[/name] - like it but afraid it’s becoming too popular
[name]Sparrow[/name] - a bit of a gp
Lumi - any names to get this as a nn? I feel it’s not substantial enough to stand alone
[name]Athena[/name] - another gp
[name]Penelope[/name] - not fond of penny as a nn
[name]Guinevere[/name] or [name]Genevieve[/name] - pretty but unsure
[name]Luna[/name] - This is nice, and would love to see a little girl named this.
[name]Josephine[/name] - I like the nickname [name]Josie[/name], and there’s nothing wrong with [name]Josephine[/name], but it just rubs me the wrong way.
[name]Pandora[/name] - I don’t like this one, I think the reference is a little too obvious. Also, I just don’t think it sounds pretty. Nicknames…Panda? I can’t think of too many besides [name]Pan[/name] or [name]Dora[/name].
Saphina - I love the sound of this one, but I do prefer it spelled [name]Sapphira[/name]. You could get Saf, or [name]Sapphire[/name] out of it.
[name]Seraphina[/name] or [name]Serafina[/name] etc - I love [name]Seraphina[/name], it’s so pretty and has such a strong meaning to it. I think you can get away with not using [name]Sara[/name] as a nickname. I know plenty of people with long names that just go by their full first name. Another nickname is [name]Fina[/name] or [name]Finn[/name].
[name]Seraphine[/name] - Pretty, but prefer [name]Seraphina[/name].
[name]Saoirse[/name] - I can never remember how to pronounce this one, but there definitely will be a lot of pronunciation and spelling issues.
[name]Minka[/name] - It’s ok, I think better as a middle though.
[name]Rosalie[/name] or Rosealine - I like [name]Rosalie[/name] better, but I prefer [name]Rosalia[/name] overall. Pretty name either way.
[name]Arcadia[/name] - I always see Arcade in this name, also, it’s a city near where I live, so I personally wouldn’t use it.
[name]Violet[/name] - Pretty! Maybe you could spell it [name]Violette[/name] or go with a variation of [name]Violet[/name] if you want something a little less popular.
[name]Sparrow[/name] - Not my favorite bird name, but if its paired with the right first name, I think it could give a really cool, mysterious feel to it.
Lumi - I see this as a nickname for [name]Luna[/name].
[name]Athena[/name] - Nice name, but I wouldn’t use it. I see a strong, feminine girl who is really good at sports.
[name]Penelope[/name] - I actually really like [name]Penny[/name] as a nickname. The name [name]Penelope[/name] is nice enough, but I would rather see it on someone else.
[name]Guinevere[/name] or [name]Genevieve[/name] - [name]Love[/name], love, love [name]Genevieve[/name]! That name is on my top ten list! I really like the nickname [name]Evie[/name] with it.
[name]Luna[/name] - Short, sweet and lovely, the lunatic connection is not something I would be troubled by personally.
[name]Josephine[/name] - I like the nn [name]Posy[/name], not too into J names in general but [name]Josephine[/name] is sweet, partly because there are so many nn possibilities.
[name]Pandora[/name] - [name]Penny[/name], [name]Doe[/name], [name]Dora[/name], [name]Dot[/name] even, [name]Annie[/name], a wonderful name ^^
Saphina - [name]Don[/name]'t get where this is coming from, nn maybe [name]Fifi[/name] of [name]Fina[/name]. Would probably do [name]Sabina[/name] myself.
[name]Seraphina[/name]/[name]Seraphine[/name] - [name]Fifi[/name] again is a nice nickname, [name]Fina[/name], [name]Fia[/name], [name]Rafi[/name]?. I like [name]Seraphine[/name] more, but they’re both lovely
[name]Saoirse[/name] - I think any name you choose has the potential to be hated by your child. It’s not something you can avoid by picking the right name, because it all comes down to who your baby grows up to be. [name]Saoirse[/name] is a nice blend of feminine but not frilly and sounds like a fairytale princess or feisty pirate. People will get used to the spelling but it will probably be little bit troublesome. Not more than with Jhaisylyn though
[name]Minka[/name] - I love names ending in -ka! [name]Minka[/name] is very sweet. Minea, [name]Minerva[/name], Minver, Miniver and Mintara would be nice ways to get there.
[name]Rosalie[/name] - I too prefer [name]Rosalia[/name], or [name]Roseanna[/name].
[name]Arcadia[/name] - [name]Lovely[/name], I don’t have the same referances as you since I’m in Norway so no arcade or car for me. If you worry Aradia is also beautiful.
[name]Violet[/name] - [name]Lettie[/name] is my favourite nickname, it’s too popular for me personally. [name]Viola[/name] is also very nice, I also have a soft spot for [name]Violeta[/name].
[name]Sparrow[/name] - I like [name]Sparrow[/name]. Very sweet, especially as an unexpected middle.
Lumi - [name]Lumina[/name] is a way to get to Lumi (or [name]Minka[/name]!). They also have the elaboration Lumikki in Finland. [name]Lumina[/name] is a favourite of mine.
[name]Athena[/name] - I love [name]Athena[/name] but never actually enough to consider her for a future child. [name]Thea[/name] or [name]Ana[/name] might be nicknames.
[name]Penelope[/name] - is very fun. [name]Poppy[/name] is a popular nickname option, I think you could do [name]Lola[/name] as well. Or my favourite, [name]Nell[/name]
[name]Guinevere[/name]/[name]Genevieve[/name] - Never really liked any of these, probably the J sound in [name]Genevieve[/name] and the [name]Gui[/name]- part of [name]Guinevere[/name]. I’m somewhat picky like that. I like [name]Geneva[/name] or [name]Genoveva[/name] more (the [name]Neva[/name]/[name]Nova[/name] parts do the trick) and Gweneira as a [name]Guinevere[/name] alternative. I also came across Annevieve once, and I love that one!
My favourites on your list are [name]Pandora[/name], [name]Seraphine[/name], [name]Saoirse[/name], [name]Minka[/name], [name]Arcadia[/name], [name]Sparrow[/name] and Lumi.
[name]Pandora[/name] [name]Luna[/name]
[name]Seraphine[/name] Lumi
[name]Saoirse[/name] [name]Rosalie[/name]
[name]Minka[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] / Minea [name]Luna[/name]
[name]Arcadia[/name] [name]Violet[/name]
[name]Sparrow[/name] [name]Athena[/name] (or [name]Sparrow[/name] [name]Penelope[/name])
Lumi [name]Pandora[/name] / [name]Lumina[/name] [name]Sparrow[/name]
[name]Luna[/name] - The meaning “moon” is nice but I hear teasing potential “Looney Tunes” because your last name start with T
[name]Josephine[/name] - nn [name]JoJo[/name], [name]Josie[/name], [name]LOVE[/name] IT
[name]Pandora[/name] - Like the nn idea of [name]Penny[/name] that dearest gave you
Saphina - NMS
[name]Seraphina[/name] or [name]Serafina[/name] etc - can only think of [name]Fina[/name] as OK alternative to [name]Sara[/name]
[name]Seraphine[/name] - [name]Just[/name] use the full name and people will come up with their own nn
[name]Saoirse[/name] - No idea about pronunciation, you could put it it the middle
[name]Minka[/name] - [name]Millicent[/name], [name]Araminta[/name]
[name]Rosalie[/name] or Rosealine - prefer [name]Rosalie[/name] or more elaborate [name]Rosalinda[/name]
[name]Arcadia[/name] - Cannot shake arcade with this one
[name]Violet[/name] - would not use a T ending name with a T starting last name, [name]Violeta[/name] / [name]Violetta[/name] could work -[name]Yolanda[/name] has the same meaning and you could [name]JoJo[/name] as nn
[name]Sparrow[/name] - I think of pirate [name]Jack[/name] [name]Sparrow[/name]… sorry
Lumi - I like the suggestion of [name]Lumina[/name], but for [name]Light[/name] meaning I would go for [name]Lucia[/name]
[name]Athena[/name] - not into place names, but does sound sweet
[name]Penelope[/name] - nn [name]Pepper[/name] instead?
[name]Guinevere[/name] or [name]Genevieve[/name] - would go for nn [name]Gwen[/name]
Incredibly helpful! I’d love some more combos, from names on the list or even with a new name added to something listed. I feel like I’m finally getting somewhere now =) I was so afraid we’d be bringing her home from the hospital unnamed.
[name]Seraphina[/name] is my number one from your list.
[name]Seraphina[/name] Penenlope
[name]Seraphina[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]
[name]Seraphina[/name] [name]Violet[/name]
[name]Seraphina[/name] [name]Juliet[/name]
[name]Seraphina[/name] [name]Rose[/name]
