We are having a hard time deciding on names for our twin girls coming soon. Big sister is [name_f]Greta[/name_f]. Would love to hear what pairs you would pick from our list, or if you have new suggestions. Prefer a shorter name or a nickname if it’s longer.
[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] (I like [name_f]Addie[/name_f] but worried too popular)
[name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_u]Alma[/name_u] (worried it’s too Hispanic sounding which we are not)
[name_f]Annabel[/name_f]
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] (feels a little stale to me)
[name_f]Ella[/name_f] (don’t like popularity)
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] nn [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] or [name_f]Liza[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] (love it but so popular)
[name_f]Eve[/name_f]
[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] (feels like we would never use full name)
[name_f]Harriet[/name_f] nn [name_f]Hattie[/name_f] (not sure about [name_f]Hattie[/name_f] with our last name, sounds like Gaston)
[name_f]Johanna[/name_f] (dated?)
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] (but I don’t like Josie)
[name_u]June[/name_u]
[name_f]Liza[/name_f] (current front runner)
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
[name_f]Mae[/name_f] (used by a neighbor)
[name_f]Nina[/name_f]
[name_f]Nora[/name_f]
[name_f]Ramona[/name_f]
[name_f]Susannah[/name_f]
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] (don’t like popularity)
[name_u]Vivian[/name_u] (is it too fussy?)
[name_f]Willa[/name_f]
[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] (maybe nn [name_f]Della[/name_f], [name_f]Ada[/name_f], Daisy?)
[name_u]Alma[/name_u] (sounds sort of vintage and international to me)
[name_f]Eve[/name_f]
[name_f]Liza[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
[name_f]Ramona[/name_f]
[name_f]Willa[/name_f]
I’d make the pairs:
[name_f]Liza[/name_f] and [name_f]Eve[/name_f]
[name_f]Willa[/name_f] and [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
[name_f]Ramona[/name_f] and [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] (Romy and Della)
[name_u]Alma[/name_u] and [name_u]June[/name_u]
[name_f]Liza[/name_f] and [name_u]Alma[/name_u]
[name_f]My[/name_f] favorites for you:
[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] - perhaps [name_f]Della[/name_f] instead of [name_f]Addie[/name_f]
[name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Johanna[/name_f] - not dated!
[name_u]June[/name_u]
[name_f]Liza[/name_f] - really like this one for you!
[name_f]Nora[/name_f] - very popular though
[name_f]Ramona[/name_f]
[name_u]Vivian[/name_u] - don’t really know what you mean by fussy, I think it’s striking and charming
[name_f]Willa[/name_f]
Honestly naming twins feels like such a huge task and I think the gorgeous [name_f]Greta[/name_f] is a hard name to follow!
[name_f]Greta[/name_f] has a chic European flair so I would be tempted to follow on from this style with this in mind the names that feel like the most natural choices
[name_u]Alma[/name_u] ~ definitely not too Hispanic/Spanish for someone without this heritage to use. [name_u]Alma[/name_u] feels very universal and a lovely sister for [name_f]Greta[/name_f]. [name_u]Alma[/name_u] [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] would be gorgeous!
[name_f]Eve[/name_f] ~ very sweet biblical choice that has the ultimate LBD feel. I think [name_f]Eve[/name_f] is lovely with a similar vibe to [name_f]Greta[/name_f]. [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] feels very strong.
[name_u]June[/name_u] ~ I think [name_u]June[/name_u] is more on quaint [name_f]English[/name_f] cottage than Parisian cafe however I think she’s sweet with a universal flair. I really like [name_u]June[/name_u] [name_f]Inez[/name_f]!
[name_f]Nina[/name_f] ~ she’s a lovely ballerina name that feels so elegant. I feel she has that LBD feel that works very well with [name_f]Greta[/name_f]. [name_f]Nina[/name_f] [name_u]Austin[/name_u] would be very cool straight from a storybook.
[name_f]Nora[/name_f] ~ she feels like a natural little sister for [name_f]Greta[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Nora[/name_f] is bright, sparkly and international. [name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] would be sweet.
[name_f]Ramona[/name_f] ~ strong, bold and impactful. I think [name_f]Alice[/name_f] would make a lovely middle name. I love [name_f]Ramona[/name_f]!
[name_u]Vivian[/name_u] ~ definitely not too fussy she’s strong, distinguished and classy. I like the idea [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] very classy.
I realized that you have [name_f]Mae[/name_f] listed as a first or middle and wondered if you knew of the link to [name_f]Greta[/name_f] (both are a diminutive/form of Margaret.)
I wasn’t sure if you’d like to have that subtle tie between all the girls but it could go something like this if you used all [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] variations:
Reminds me of a little ditty my husband likes to sing to my little girlie (“baby girl, you are my pearl, baby girl, you are my pearl”)
[name_u]Or[/name_u] you could use [name_f]Mae[/name_f] as one twin’s middle & [name_f]Megan[/name_f] or Margo/Margo or [name_f]Peggy[/name_f], etc as the other’s middle!
Congratulations on your sweet girls [name_f]Greta[/name_f] is such a great choice!
[name_f]My[/name_f] favourite choices from your list are [name_f]Alice[/name_f] and [name_f]Nina[/name_f] and I think those two make an adorable little pair; they both match the spunky vintage energy of [name_f]Greta[/name_f].
The other standouts for me are [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] (not a personal favourite but it just matches [name_f]Greta[/name_f] to perfection for me), [name_f]Mae[/name_f] - just adorable and perfectly vintage, like [name_f]Greta[/name_f] - and [name_f]Susannah[/name_f]; I adore [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] and I think [name_f]Greta[/name_f] and [name_f]Susie[/name_f] or [name_f]Zuzu[/name_f] would be a perfect pair.
[name_f]Cora[/name_f], [name_f]Betsey[/name_f], [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] ‘Emmy’, [name_f]Lena[/name_f], [name_u]Louise[/name_u], [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] and [name_f]Ada[/name_f] all go great with [name_f]Greta[/name_f] for me
I think [name_f]Nina[/name_f] [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] would be a beautiful name!
[name_u]Vivian[/name_u] is not fussy at all.
I would not expect [name_u]Alma[/name_u] to be Hispanic neither. It actually feels very Scandinavian to me, not Hispanic at all.
[name_f]Johanna[/name_f] does not feel dated at all. Actually it feels very youthful, it is in my list as well.
If you don’t like [name_u]Josie[/name_u] for [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], there is always [name_u]Jo[/name_u] and [name_f]Effie[/name_f] and many other nicknames.
[name_f]My[/name_f] favourites of your list with [name_f]Greta[/name_f],
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] and [name_f]Sophie[/name_f]
[name_f]Nina[/name_f] and [name_f]Annabel[/name_f]
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] and [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] and [name_f]Johanna[/name_f]
