[name_m]Hi[/name_m], I’m 26 weeks pregnant, expecting a baby girl in late [name_u]November[/name_u]! I’m new to Nameberry but I’ve quickly learned ‘Unisex’ names are not favored here… I’m going to try my luck anyway:) We’re having a hard time narrowing our list down to a top 3. Please, tell us what you think and share any combination ideas you have!
FN/MN Combinations we like:
[name_u]Auden[/name_u] [name_f]Romilly[/name_f]- We love this but our last name begins with M. so initials ARM… We are open to a second middle if we can find one that fits nicely. Fingers Crossed We really adore this combo.
[name_u]Emery[/name_u] [name_u]Sage[/name_u]- Okay with both of us but not very exciting.
[name_u]Fifer[/name_u] [name_f]Romilly[/name_f]- We really like!
[name_u]Leighton[/name_u] [name_f]Romilly[/name_f]- [name_u]Leighton[/name_u] is his choice, I’m not crazy about it but I like it.
[name_f]Romilly[/name_f] [name_u]Blaire[/name_u]- All of our combos with [name_f]Romilly[/name_f] as a first name are just okay to us. lol We’re just reeeeally trying to make it work.
[name_f]Romilly[/name_f] [name_u]Leighton[/name_u]- I like it better this way.
I love [name_f]Romilly[/name_f]! I have plans to use this on a daughter if I ever have one. [name_f]Romilly[/name_f] [name_u]Sage[/name_u] and [name_f]Romilly[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u] are my favourites. (I will also disclose that I’m someone who does not like boy’s names on girls, so that may cloud my choices.)
I, too, [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Romilly[/name_f] or [name_u]Romy[/name_u]. Think it’s so cute and unique.
[name_f]My[/name_f] Top Three:
[name_f]Romilly[/name_f] [name_u]Leighton[/name_u] (both names are names I like, and the pulling of ‘L’ from [name_f]Romilly[/name_f] makes them look very good together. I like repeated letters
[name_u]Emery[/name_u] [name_u]Sage[/name_u] (I like the feel of this name as I like [name_f]Romilly[/name_f], [the cool -y ending, the cute nickname [name_f]Em[/name_f]] but [name_u]Emery[/name_u] boards just get to me. Still a nice combo)
[name_u]Harper[/name_u] [name_f]Romilly[/name_f] (again, the repeated letters I like. You’re very good at combos!)
[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_u]Auden[/name_u] [name_u]Emery[/name_u], instead of [name_u]Auden[/name_u] [name_f]Romilly[/name_f]? Like I said, [name_u]Emery[/name_u] and [name_f]Romilly[/name_f] remind me of each other here, and so that would help the ‘ARM’ issue.
[name_u]Auden[/name_u] [name_u]Emery[/name_u], as someone suggested, sounds very good to me. I was also going to suggest [name_u]Auden[/name_u] [name_u]Winter[/name_u], [name_u]Auden[/name_u] [name_u]Harper[/name_u]. I love the name [name_u]Auden[/name_u].
[name_u]Fifer[/name_u] [name_f]Romilly[/name_f] is quirky and really good together. I like [name_u]Fifer[/name_u] except that it sort of sounds like “fight for…” and also [name_u]Piper[/name_u]. I usually try to stay away from names that strongly resemble other more popular names. It seems a lifelong nuisance to correct people to say your name, not the other name.
[name_f]Romilly[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u] sounds really good. I think it’s my favorite of all.
I really don’t mind unisex names and I love your choices!
[name_f]My[/name_f] favourites from your options:
[name_u]Auden[/name_u] [name_f]Romilly[/name_f] - I love love love [name_u]Auden[/name_u] because of the poet, so this gets a big yes from me. Plus I think its a beautiful sounding name and the combination works really well [name_f]IMO[/name_f].
[name_f]Romilly[/name_f] [name_u]Sage[/name_u]/[name_u]Winter[/name_u] - I really like both of these options, I think [name_f]Romilly[/name_f] would work beautifully as a first name with either of these nature names backing it up!
[name_u]Emery[/name_u] [name_u]Sage[/name_u] - Very pretty choice, I do prefer [name_f]Romilly[/name_f] or [name_u]Auden[/name_u] to [name_u]Emery[/name_u] but only by a tiny bit.
Other possible combinations:
[name_u]Auden[/name_u] [name_u]Winter[/name_u]
[name_f]Romilly[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_u]Sage[/name_u] - not sure if you’re open to two MN or not!
[name_f]Romilly[/name_f] [name_u]Harper[/name_u] [name_u]Sage[/name_u]
[name_u]Auden[/name_u] [name_u]Emery[/name_u]
You’ve got a really great group of names to work with and I think almost any combination would make for a lovely little girls’ name! Good luck!
Wow! Thanks everyone, your feedback is greatly appreciated and a lot warmer than I expected lol! I actually really like [name_u]Auden[/name_u] [name_u]Emery[/name_u], I don’t know why I didn’t think to put the two together:)
I do love [name_u]Auden[/name_u] [name_f]Romilly[/name_f] and [name_f]Romilly[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u]. I wouldn’t worry about ARM at all. Because [name_u]Auden[/name_u] is clearly unisex I wouldn’t pair it with [name_u]Emery[/name_u] which is also clearly unisex. [name_f]Romilly[/name_f], at least in my mind, is more if not all, girl.
[name_u]Auden[/name_u] [name_f]Romilly[/name_f] sounds great! Like a previous poster said, I personally wouldn’t pair 2 unisex names together so I like [name_u]Auden[/name_u] [name_f]Romilly[/name_f] a little better than [name_u]Auden[/name_u] [name_u]Emery[/name_u], but both are nice.
[name_f]Romilly[/name_f] as a first name sounds pretty to me as well. But if you are “trying to make it work” I would say, maybe it doesn’t work! Lol. A name should come more naturally and not be forced.
It seems you both really love [name_f]Romilly[/name_f] and that’s great because I think it off-puts your unisex names a bit.
I wouldn’t worry about the initials AT ALL. Whenever people ask for initials, it is first and middle, usually not all three. Plus, it doesn’t spell anything horrible like SEX or BAD or something. If you love the name, go for it! I love it
Suggestions for second middle, just in case it really does still bother you (I would stick with one syllable):
[name_u]Auden[/name_u] [name_f]Romilly[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_u]Auden[/name_u] [name_f]Romilly[/name_f] [name_u]Blair[/name_u] - I really like this one, it flows off the tongue perfectly
[name_u]Auden[/name_u] [name_f]Romilly[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f]
[name_u]Auden[/name_u] [name_f]Romilly[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_f]Romilly[/name_f] is my favorite in your list. I think all your middle choices work. I would personally go a bit more feminine for the middle. [name_u]Harper[/name_u] would be my second pick.
Thanks for the second middle suggestions. We really like the idea of using another name with [name_u]Auden[/name_u] [name_f]Romilly[/name_f] and I agree that single syllable names might work best. Of course my favorites are [name_u]Blair[/name_u] and [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]… love those unisex names for some reason:)
These would be my favorite in your list; obviously a fan of [name_f]Romilly[/name_f] as well:
[name_u]Harper[/name_u] [name_f]Romilly[/name_f]- I this has a good ring to it. I love both names.
[name_u]Leighton[/name_u] [name_f]Romilly[/name_f]- I prefer [name_u]Harper[/name_u] over [name_u]Leighton[/name_u] but I like this combo as well.
[name_f]Romilly[/name_f] [name_u]Blaire[/name_u] - my favorite out of the 4 names. Everything about this name I love. [name_m]Both[/name_m] names, them together, the way they sound together.
[name_f]Romilly[/name_f] [name_u]Sage[/name_u] - This is a close 2nd about [name_f]Romilly[/name_f] [name_u]Blaire[/name_u].
I like [name_u]Fifer[/name_u] [name_f]Romilly[/name_f] the best, although [name_f]Romilly[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u] is a close second to me. I just find [name_u]Fifer[/name_u] to be so quirky and adorable, but it isn’t to cutesy to be an adult’s name. [name_f]Romilly[/name_f] is a wonderful middle name for [name_u]Fifer[/name_u], as [name_u]Fifer[/name_u] is more unisex and [name_f]Romilly[/name_f] is a bit more feminine. They balance each other out very well, too, because [name_u]Fifer[/name_u] is two syllables and [name_f]Romilly[/name_f] is three. It’s very fun to say, too. If it were me I would stop looking! [name_u]Fifer[/name_u] [name_f]Romilly[/name_f] is a winner in my book
