[name_f]My[/name_f] DH and I have decided on [name_m]Jones[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] if we have a boy, but have not decided on a girl name yet. There are many names I love but my husband doesn’t [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] any of them. I want to make sure the name sounds good with sister [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]. We would prefer the middle name to be [name_f]Paige[/name_f].
Our top picks:
[name_f]Isla[/name_f]
[name_f]Juliet[/name_f] (too similar sounding to [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]?)
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f]
[name_u]Gwynn[/name_u] (friend also likes this name :/)
[name_f]Vera[/name_f]
[name_f]Isla[/name_f] has the same spunky, modern vibe as [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]- and the fact that you’ve used it in your username means you probably like it quite a bit? [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] is spunky too and both classic and modern, works with [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f].
[name_f]Juliet[/name_f] is dramatic and romantic like [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f], and they’re not that similar- “et” like in “bet” in [name_f]Juliet[/name_f], “it” like “bit” in [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]. I love both- see my signature. (And [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] O’[name_f]Hara[/name_f], despite all her flaws, is one of my favourite characters. [name_f]Juliet[/name_f], not so much, though I love the name.)
[name_u]Gwynn[/name_u] sounds a bit odd, like it should be short for [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f], or like [name_u]Wynn[/name_u] with a G at the front. [name_f]Vera[/name_f] is sweet but a bit too old-fashioned next to [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]. I’d go with something that has a more modern feel. Quirky and peppy work well with [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] to me.
I love [name_f]Isla[/name_f] with [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]! But I really love all your names, although I do agree that [name_u]Gwynn[/name_u] seems like it should be short for something.
