We have a DD, [name]Seraphina[/name] [name]Audrey[/name], and are expecting another LO anytime now. We are adopting and the child will likely be biracial or African American. I am naturally drawn to Italian names because that is my heritage, but I feel it’s important to honor their birth ancestry as well. DD is Hispanic so it worked out since my favorite Italian name also suited her heritage, but I feel a little stuck coming up with a compatible name for this little one. Please let me know of these names would fit as a sibling to [name]Seraphina[/name] and considering it could be a child of any race. Here are our top contenders:
-
[name]Cosima[/name] [name]Lucille[/name]
-
[name]India[/name] [name]June[/name]
-
[name]Louisa[/name] [name]Marigold[/name]
-
[name]Francesca[/name] [name]Claire[/name]
If its a boy, his name will be [name]Theodore[/name] [name]Noble[/name] of that helps describe my taste a little better.
Sorry for the typos! I forgot to mention that [name]Seraphina[/name] goes by [name]Fifi[/name] quite a bit.
Ohhh this is tough! The only one I can rule out is [name]Cosima[/name] [name]Lucille[/name]- I just don’t find the sound as pleasing as the others. My first instinct was [name]India[/name] [name]June[/name] but after really reading them I so do like [name]Louisa[/name] [name]Marigold[/name] and [name]Francesca[/name] [name]Claire[/name]. Since I can’t choose just based on name(and love them all) I’ll just pick what I think is closest in style to [name]Seraphina[/name] [name]Audrey[/name]. And… by the tiniest margin the winner is [name]Louisa[/name] [name]Marigold[/name]. I’m picturing addressing them “[name]Sera[/name] and [name]Lou[/name]” which just makes me melt. Any other name would work wonderfully, though- including the boy’s option! Great job naming. And Congrats

**Whoops, I just saw your added details! [name]Fifi[/name] and [name]Lou[/name] would be sweet as well
Thanks! [name]Louisa[/name] [name]Marigold[/name] is my favorite but DH loves [name]India[/name] and [name]Cosima[/name]. I’m secretly hoping we end up with multiples because this decision is exhausting!
I have to say, I think [name]Cosima[/name] is stunning. I might want something edgier than [name]Lucille[/name] for a mn:
[name]Cosima[/name] [name]Luce[/name]
[name]Cosima[/name] [name]Lucina[/name]
[name]Cosima[/name] [name]Lourdes[/name]
[name]Cosima[/name] [name]Luz[/name]
My next choice would be [name]Louisa[/name] [name]Marigold[/name]. Sweet!
I should have mentioned that [name]Lucille[/name] is a family name. Her name is actually [name]Lucy[/name] but somewhere along the way it turned into [name]Lucille[/name] hah. They’ve been hard names to incorporate as MNs though with my firsts.
[name]Seraph[/name]ina & India are rather close.
[name]Louisa[/name] [name]Marigold[/name] is very beautiful! I would go with that.
