I’m expecting a boy/girl twinset. Our girl will be [name_f]Juno[/name_f] [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] but we’re conflicted on the name for our son. For the middle we’ve settled on [name_u]Ezra[/name_u] or [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] (depending on the first). I’ve got my heart set on [name_m]Phineas[/name_m] [name_u]Elliot[/name_u], but everyone we’ve mentioned it to has responded negatively because of the show- also the reason my husband isn’t sold on it. Our main trouble has been finding a name to match the charming, spunky feel of [name_f]Juno[/name_f] and so far it’s been the only name that seems really up to the task- plus I’ve always loved it because of A Separate [name_u]Peace[/name_u]. We’ve considered but aren’t sure about [name_u]Atlas[/name_u] [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] (my husband’s favorite) and [name_m]Cassian[/name_m] [name_u]Ezra[/name_u]. I don’t really see what all the fuss is about, the show character is very likeable and the name seems to be becoming more common, especially after [name_m]Justin[/name_m] Timberlake chose it for his son, so is this really a deal-breaker?
I’d love to hear your verdicts on [name_m]Phineas[/name_m] [name_u]Elliot[/name_u]- and while you’re here, some more suggestions would be very much appreciated.
[name_m]Phineas[/name_m] is nice! I prefer [name_m]Finnian[/name_m] [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] though. [name_m]Cassian[/name_m] [name_u]Ezra[/name_u] is really nice as well!
Maybe Ezra as a first name?
I agree that [name_m]Phineas[/name_m] has the same spark as [name_f]Juno[/name_f]. I don’t know why the show would be a concern. As you said, it’s a positive character. I also think the generation that grew up watching it isn’t quite in the parent stage yet, and it will seem vintage by the time your twins are watching TV.
Some others that might strike the same note:
Felix
[name_m]Barnaby[/name_m]
[name_m]Otto[/name_m]
[name_m]Otis[/name_m]
[name_m]Kiefer[/name_m]
[name_m]Hugh[/name_m]
[name_m]Archie[/name_m]
[name_u]Arlo[/name_u]
[name_m]Orson[/name_m]
[name_m]Rupert[/name_m]
Oh I love [name_m]Phineas[/name_m]! I never really watched the show so it didn’t even occur to me. If that’s the only issue I would push back but if your husband doesn’t like it then what about [name_m]Finnian[/name_m]? [name_u]Or[/name_u] [name_m]Finnick[/name_m]? I also like [name_u]Atlas[/name_u]! I wonder about [name_u]Ezra[/name_u] or [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] as first too? I think [name_f]Juno[/name_f] and [name_u]Ezra[/name_u] or [name_f]Juno[/name_f] and [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] would work really well. Other suggestions:
Phineas [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] is so sweet! [name_m]Don[/name_m]’t listen to them, if you love it, you should use it. [name_u]Atlas[/name_u] [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] is beautiful too, and [name_f]Juno[/name_f] and [name_u]Atlas[/name_u] go amazing together!
How do you feel about [name_u]Flynn[/name_u]? [name_f]Juno[/name_f] and [name_u]Flynn[/name_u] are just so adorable?
There is also the lovely [name_m]Finnian[/name_m]/Finn.
I also love [name_m]Phineas[/name_m] for the same reason. I loved A Separate [name_u]Peace[/name_u] and can hardly think of a better character to name a child after.
One consideration - [name_m]Phineas[/name_m] and [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] both have 3 syllables and with the same stress pattern. I hope your last name isn’t also 3 syllables.
Phineas is great! I see no reason not to use it just because of the show. I have to admit I love [name_f]Juno[/name_f] and [name_u]Atlas[/name_u] together though.
Yes, A Separate [name_u]Peace[/name_u]!!! I read that in high school last century (it was probably 1999), & fell in love w/the name [name_m]Phineas[/name_m]/Finney as well. I still love it, & think that [name_m]Phineas[/name_m] [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] is perfect w/Juno [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]. I wouldn’t worry about what people think. Your friends & family will like any name that’s attached to a sweet little baby. I do really love [name_u]Atlas[/name_u] too, & it’s extra perfect w/Juno. You can’t go wrong either way. Not sure why, but I can’t get into [name_m]Cassian[/name_m]. I like [name_m]Cassius[/name_m], [name_m]Caspar[/name_m] & [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] though.
Here are a few more ideas to go w/Juno that you may like:
Juno [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] is brilliant! I think [name_m]Phineas[/name_m] [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] is fantastic as well and goes well with [name_f]Juno[/name_f], although I think I just prefer [name_u]Atlas[/name_u] [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] - generally and with [name_f]Juno[/name_f] [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]. [name_f]Juno[/name_f] and [name_m]Caspian[/name_m]
[name_f]Juno[/name_f] and [name_m]Xander[/name_m]
[name_f]Juno[/name_f] and [name_m]Alastair[/name_m]
[name_f]Juno[/name_f] and [name_m]Baxter[/name_m]
[name_f]Juno[/name_f] and [name_m]Otis[/name_m]
I believe [name_f]Julia[/name_f] [name_m]Roberts[/name_m] also has a [name_m]Phineas[/name_m] but spelled it [name_m]Phinnaeus[/name_m]. You could maybe spell it like that to get away from all these other associations?
Every name is going to have associations. I would just go with what you love!
Atlas isn’t my style and getting popular. I would personally think [name_u]Atlas[/name_u] with [name_f]Juno[/name_f] is a little mythology heavy but to each their own!
Cassius is kinda cool! [name_m]Cassiel[/name_m] might be an alternative suggestion?
Love your middle name choices (I have an [name_u]Elliott[/name_u]!).
Juno and Bash ([name_m]Sebastian[/name_m])
[name_f]Juno[/name_f] and [name_m]Henry[/name_m]
[name_f]Juno[/name_f] and [name_u]Cal[/name_u] ([name_m]Calvin[/name_m])
[name_f]Juno[/name_f] and [name_m]Boden[/name_m]
[name_f]Juno[/name_f] and [name_u]Bodhi[/name_u]
[name_f]Juno[/name_f] and [name_m]Bowen[/name_m]
I really like [name_m]Phineas[/name_m]! Forget what the rest of your friends or family says about it, the opinion that matters is your husband. If he doesn’t truly love it, then it unfortunately has to go…
