Help name twin B!

[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! We are expecting identical (mo/di) boys in [name_u]March[/name_u]!

They will go by [name_u]Alex[/name_u] and [name_m]Eli[/name_m], but it is important to us that they have longer, “formal” names to use if they choose to when they are older.

[name_u]Alex[/name_u] will obviously be [name_m]Alexander[/name_m], but we’ve been debating about [name_m]Eli[/name_m]. [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] and [name_u]Elias[/name_u] are not options

We have narrowed it down to [name_u]Elliot[/name_u]/[name_u]Eliot[/name_u] or [name_u]Ellis[/name_u]. As far as the spelling goes, we prefer the look of [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] but both love the T.S. [name_u]Eliot[/name_u] connection if we were to spell it with one L.

So, which do you prefer? Big brother is [name_u]Owen[/name_u] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]. The twins’ middle names will be [name_m]Allen[/name_m] and [name_u]Michael[/name_u] (who gets which is still TBD)

Thanks!

[name_u]Elliot[/name_u] would be my vote - it’s more intuitive as a spelling, but there can still be that connection to TS [name_u]Eliot[/name_u]. Good luck!

[name_m]Alexander[/name_m] [name_u]Michael[/name_u] & [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] [name_m]Allen[/name_m] are handsome I think. Good luck and congrats!

[name_u]Elliot[/name_u] is my favorite spelling, and it feels the most balanced with [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] since it is the longest. [name_u]Eliot[/name_u] makes sense though, since you love the T.S. [name_u]Eliot[/name_u] connection and it actually has “[name_m]Eli[/name_m]” in it. So either one works.

I think for twins, 4 syllables ([name_m]Alexander[/name_m]) vs 2 syllables ([name_u]Ellis[/name_u]) feels a bit imbalanced.

Yes! The syllable thing is what’s bothering me and why I am strongly leaning towards [name_u]Elliot[/name_u]/[name_u]Eliot[/name_u]

I just noticed your signature. I also have an [name_u]Owen[/name_u], and I think [name_u]Spencer[/name_u] goes so well! Sounds like you’re set on [name_m]Alexander[/name_m], but if not, [name_u]Spencer[/name_u] and [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] or [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] is a great option.

No way DH would go for [name_m]Eliezer[/name_m]. We’re both pretty traditional!

I do love [name_u]Spencer[/name_u], but not as much as I love [name_u]Alex[/name_u] and [name_m]Eli[/name_m] DH said last night that he’s totally on board with [name_u]Elliot[/name_u]/[name_u]Eliot[/name_u], so [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] is out and we just have to decide on spelling. Yay progress!

I prefer the [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] spelling, but [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] is okay too. I think [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] [name_u]Michael[/name_u] and [name_u]Elliot/name_u [name_m]Allen[/name_m] work very well! Good luck with your two little munchkins! x

Next to [name_m]Alexander[/name_m], [name_u]Eliot[/name_u] looks a bit… “small”. Since you can add additional letters to it (without making it your own creative spelling) I would encourage you to do so. I love [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] but [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] is also very nice and the spelling I’d go for!

is a nice option.

I prefer the [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] spelling. [name_u]Eliot[/name_u] looks too short next to [name_m]Alexander[/name_m].

[name_m]Alexander[/name_m] [name_u]Michael[/name_u] and [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] [name_m]Allen[/name_m]?

I’d vote for [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] or [name_m]Elijah[/name_m]. I like the longer names to go with [name_m]Alexander[/name_m].
It just feels more balanced, otherwise I’d feel like [name_m]Eli[/name_m] got half a name.

I prefer the [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] spelling it just “looks better” to me.

I think [name_u]Owen[/name_u] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m], [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] [name_m]Allen[/name_m] and [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] [name_u]Michael[/name_u] would make a great set of brothers.
