Im expecting my second baby. Struggling with names. I found it so hard to name my son. His name is [name_u]Declan[/name_u] [name_u]John[/name_u].
Unsure if this baby will be a boy or girl.
I have a list of girls names as well as middle names some are family names.
Need some berry input. TIA.
Middle names
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] - grandmother
[name_f]Katarina[/name_f] - my best friend
[name_f]Jane[/name_f] - something about [name_f]Jane[/name_f] sweet, innocent, plain yet beautiful to me.
[name_f]Claire[/name_f] - same as [name_f]Jane[/name_f].
[name_f]Lavera[/name_f] - love the meaning
[name_f]Lyra[/name_f]
[name_f]Laverna[/name_f] - love the meaning.
[name_f]Emilia[/name_f] - my fatherās name is [name_m]Emil[/name_m], he passed away 16 years ago.
I think [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] sounds really pretty
I also like [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] [name_f]Emilia[/name_f], [name_f]Abigail[/name_f] [name_f]Katarina[/name_f], and [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f]
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps!
as a middle name, iād definitely go for alice; an honor name, and it goes pretty well with john in the middle spot! both classic, gorgeous, and timeless names.
with the first name declan, from your list, i would go for something with a consonant around the middle spot. the thought of daphne with declan is wonderful, but im not sure if im a fan of the repeating initals. for that reason, id probably use isolde from your list!
although, i also like lydia with declan a lot. but since im recommending you the middle name alice, id probably go with isolde as i think it has a better flow with alice.
so my order of preferences goes like this:
isolde alice
lydia alice
daphne alice
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] or [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] - [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] is my favorite with D.
[name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] [name_f]Emilia[/name_f]
[name_f]Sybil[/name_f] [name_f]Katarina[/name_f]
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] or [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] - even though Iām not a fan of the name myselfā¦ the name goes well with DÉclan.
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] - itās lovely with DĆ«clan, but unsure of the middle.
I also like [name_f]Daphne[/name_f], but not sure about sibling sharing the first letter. [name_f]Evadne[/name_f] would be very interesting and unexpected choice, I really like it.
[name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] - charming and stylish
[name_f]Saoirse[/name_f] - warm, pretty but rugged with a nice meaning
[name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] - glowing and pretty
[name_f]Imogen[/name_f] - strong, literary and charming
[name_f]Cressida[/name_f] - unexpected but beautiful and elegant
[name_f]Eilidh[/name_f] - sunny and sweet
[name_f]Isolde[/name_f] - sharp, mystical and cool
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] - classic and pretty
I love the idea of you using honor names. If you decide to use both, this is what I think sounds best If you only use one, I would use the name not in parentheses. You might want to save the other name for any future daughter.
[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f], [name_f]Saoirse[/name_f], [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] & [name_f]Isolde[/name_f]. These were all on my list. [name_f]Cressida[/name_f] is lovely too but a bit on the posh side imo, and I also like [name_f]Freya[/name_f] but Iād discount it based on popularity. Iād probably discount [name_f]Saoirse[/name_f] due to spelling issues (though this depends where you are). So that leaves [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f], [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] and [name_f]Isolde[/name_f]. Iām not going to worry about matchiness in terms of āfeelā because I think all 3 names have quite different vibes to [name_u]Declan[/name_u] but this is not necessarily a bad thing. So, because Iād have loved to have used it, Iām going to say [name_f]Isolde[/name_f] (was vetoed for me).
From your middles I like [name_f]Alice[/name_f] and [name_f]Jane[/name_f], but one definitely sounds better with [name_f]Isolde[/name_f], so my vote goes to -
Favourites Include:
[name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] - Obsessed my favourite name atm (I previously had [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] as its middle name but it didnāt flow as well with my other favourites so I changed it to [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] so based on this out of your options Iād probably go with [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] or [name_f]Alice[/name_f] as middle names)
[name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] - Very similiar to my other favourite name atm [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] but a lot more unique, I love the nn āRoryā so Iām definitely biased towards this one and the meaning of āthe golden oneā just sells it for me (Aurelia [name_f]Claire[/name_f] or [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] would be my choices out of your options)
[name_f]Imogen[/name_f] / [name_f]Freya[/name_f] - Both names are very popular in my country even though I personally have barely come across them but what stood out to me is that I have the combo [name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] on my list (or the other way round, but it works very well as a first name and [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] seems attractive to me)
[name_f]Daphne[/name_f] - I have on and off moments with this name because as much as I love the name it just doesnāt sound right in my 2nd language but the floral naturey vibes of this name fit right in with my taste (Daphne [name_f]Alice[/name_f] or [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] Jane)
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] - Definitely a grower on me recently and [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] could work well (I prefer it to [name_f]Katarina[/name_f] and the honour is still there) or [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] (Jane is just that classic that seems to work with most names)
[name_f]Abigail[/name_f] - [name_f]Abigail[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f], [name_f]Abigail[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] , [name_f]Abigail[/name_f] [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] and [name_f]Abigail[/name_f] [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] could all work, there is something about this name that makes me stare at it for a while everytime I see and it is popular but not too popular which makes it usable in my eyes.
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f] - [name_f]My[/name_f] friends name even though she goes by [name_f]Faye[/name_f] (a bit of a strechier one but Iām known for strechy nns so it doesnāt really suprise me) and I really like the simpleness of this classic name, [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] and [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] pair best to me
I especially love [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f], [name_f]Saoirse[/name_f], [name_f]Imogen[/name_f], [name_f]Freya[/name_f], [name_f]Lydia[/name_f], and Eilidhā¦
Thanks everyone for the comments and suggestions. This is really helpful.
We are definitely going with [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] or [name_f]Alice[/name_f] for a middle name if baby is girl.
DH loves [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f]. Although I love [name_f]Saoirse[/name_f].
So [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] or [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] ?
or [name_f]Saoirse[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] or [name_f]Saoirse[/name_f] [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] ?
