We are expecting a baby BOY to join big sisters [name_f]Jenna[/name_f] [name_f]Lorraine[/name_f] and [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] this summer and are having a difficult time finding just the right name for him. We plan to use the middle name Waitt, which is a family name, If that doesn’t fit the first name we choose, the alternative would be [name_m]Allen[/name_m], which is another family name. So far we have:
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m] (nn [name_u]Teddy[/name_u], [name_m]Ted[/name_m]) which we both like but aren’t sold on
[name_m]Jackson[/name_m] (nn [name_m]Jack[/name_m] or Jacks) which I love the idea of because it is a family surname, though it is a bit too popular for my taste these days, and my husband seems to dislike “[name_m]Jack[/name_m]” as a nn
[name_m]Archer[/name_m] (nn [name_m]Archie[/name_m], [name_m]Arch[/name_m]?) I think this is a bit off the beaten path for my husband but I’m really liking [name_m]Archie[/name_m]…

I think [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_m]Allen[/name_m] would be fabulous, or [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] Waitt!
[name_m]Archer[/name_m] is handsome but [name_m]Archie[/name_m] is super trendy in the UK so I’m not keen. [name_m]Callum[/name_m], [name_m]Henry[/name_m] and [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] aren’t my style and I’m with your husband in not liking the nickname [name_m]Jack[/name_m].
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m] and [name_m]Henry[/name_m] are my favorites from your list. I have always liked the french spelling [name_m]Henri[/name_m], which might set the name apart for you. [name_m]Henry[/name_m] could also be gotten out of the longer Henrich. [name_f]My[/name_f] other suggestion would be [name_m]Lewis[/name_m], which is classic and so sweet.
If you’re concerned about popularity, I wouldn’t go with [name_m]Henry[/name_m] or [name_m]Jackson[/name_m]. [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] doesn’t really make sense if your husband is not okay with the nickname [name_m]Jack[/name_m], either.
[name_f]My[/name_f] favorite is [name_m]Theodore[/name_m], second favorite is [name_m]Archer[/name_m]. I like the above suggestion of [name_m]Asher[/name_m], too.

I’m not sure it will convince my husband on [name_m]Archer[/name_m]/[name_m]Archie[/name_m], but I might try (we live in the US where [name_m]Archie[/name_m] is far less popular than it is in the UK)! I think you are all right about [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] and [name_m]Henry[/name_m]… and I had considered [name_m]Asher[/name_m] but for some reason it just doesn’t grab me. I forgot to mention [name_u]Emmett[/name_u] as well, again one that I like and hubby doesn’t. I think [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] flows better with Waitt anyway, [name_u]Emmett[/name_u] Waitt seems sort of choppy to me.
