[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone - I am searching for a name for my fourth daughter due later this summer. Her sisters’ names are [name_f]Karenna[/name_f] (Kah-ren-uh), [name_f]Eliana[/name_f], and [name_f]Milena[/name_f] (Mi-lay-na). This forum was very helpful in naming my third so I’m hopeful that the same will be true this time around!
I am looking for a name that would go well with the other three. Ideally I would like to have an -na ending again (since I recently realized they all end in “-na”) but there are not too many names left that don’t sound too much like one of the other three. The “-ina” names would work ([name_f]Valentina[/name_f], [name_f]Clementina[/name_f], etc.) but we have not so far found one we both love.
I really like [name_f]Alina[/name_f]. Some have said it is too similar to [name_f]Eliana[/name_f] or [name_f]Milena[/name_f]. I don’t see it, but if others would think that, I would not like it.
We also really like [name_f]Petra[/name_f]. It doesn’t have that flowy-ness the others do or end in “-na” but I think it fits with them. I sometimes think the name may be a little harsh but this girl will be the baby of the family so that eases my concerns a little.
I have considered [name_f]Gianna[/name_f] but don’t love the correct pronounciation ([name_f]Jannah[/name_f]) and it is becoming trendy.
I found the name [name_f]Andrina[/name_f] which I may like. My husband thinks it sounds like a a cleaning product.
Names we previously considered and did not use include [name_f]Katalina[/name_f], [name_f]Evelina[/name_f], [name_f]Antonella[/name_f], [name_f]Josefina[/name_f], and Nikoletta.
I would love thoughts on any of these names (particularly top choices [name_f]Petra[/name_f] and [name_f]Alina[/name_f]) or other suggestions! Thank you!
I love [name_f]Petra[/name_f], but she might feel left out having such a different name. What about [name_f]Petrina[/name_f]?
alina is too similar to your other names.
suggestions:
[name_f]Arianna[/name_f]
[name_f]Abriana[/name_f]
[name_f]Adalina[/name_f]
[name_f]Aiyanna[/name_f]
[name_f]Alastrina[/name_f]
[name_f]Iliana[/name_f]
[name_f]Selina[/name_f]
[name_f]Serafina[/name_f]
[name_f]Damiana[/name_f]
[name_f]Pomona[/name_f]
[name_f]Regina[/name_f]
[name_f]Ravenna[/name_f]
[name_f]Mariana[/name_f]
[name_f]Julianna[/name_f]
[name_f]Natalina[/name_f]
In my opinion, [name_f]Eliana[/name_f] and [name_f]Alina[/name_f] are definitely a bit too similar in pronunciation- my sister had two friends with those names and the [name_f]Elina[/name_f] had to go by [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] simply to avoid the confusion!
It might be best to avoid K, E, and M names simply because then two girls would have the same letter and the other two wouldn’t, which to me seems kind of unfair for some reason?
[name_f]Josefina[/name_f] is very nice, although maybe a bit more popular than the other names you’re considering.
Names with -na I can think of are:
[name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f]
Vivienna
[name_f]Angelina[/name_f]
[name_f]Marina[/name_f] (it begins with M but if you don’t mind that that’s fine)
[name_f]Regina[/name_f]
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps!
I really like [name_f]Audrina[/name_f] from your list. Very pretty and goes well with the other two.
Id also like to add [name_f]Orianna[/name_f] (im a big fan of O names right now), [name_f]Sabina[/name_f] and second [name_f]Selina[/name_f].
Other na names …
Catelina
Serephina
[name_f]Adrianna[/name_f]
[name_f]Breanna[/name_f]
[name_f]Sabrina[/name_f]
It can get very hard to find a fourth name to “fit” once you already have three children, especially when they are of the same sex. That being said, I think you should focus more on this name ending in A, rather than -na; there are only so many names that end in -na, and probably a lot of them are going to sound similar to at least one of your girls.
I think [name_f]Alina[/name_f] is too close to [name_f]Eliana[/name_f] and [name_f]Milena[/name_f]. I’m not surprised you like it, because it sounds so similar. Try saying them all together quickly - for me, it was a tongue-twister. I think you should cut that one out.
I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Petra[/name_f]. I think it sounds great with your girls. It is a bit less musical than their names, but I also think it’s a punchy name, which seems fitting for the baby to have a spirited name.
I think [name_f]Antonella[/name_f] would be my next choice for you. It’s energetic but still has the musical flow you like. I like Nikoletta as well, for the same reasons.
I’ll throw out some other -a/-na ending names as suggestions:
[name_f]Alexandrina[/name_f]
[name_f]Marina[/name_f]
[name_f]Verena[/name_f]
[name_f]Serafina[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosalina[/name_f]
[name_f]Julia[/name_f]/[name_f]Juliana[/name_f]/[name_f]Julietta[/name_f]
[name_f]Anika[/name_f]
Nikolina
[name_f]Tatiana[/name_f]
[name_f]Polina[/name_f]
[name_f]Natalia[/name_f]
[name_f]Natasha[/name_f]
[name_f]Sonia[/name_f]/[name_f]Sonya[/name_f]
[name_f]Sofia[/name_f]
I agree with maybe just going with an -a ending name since another -na one might be hard to find. Suggestions:
[name_f]Anastasia[/name_f]
[name_f]Aurelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Amalia[/name_f]
[name_f]Calista[/name_f]
[name_f]Catrina[/name_f]
[name_f]Luciana[/name_f]
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Odessa[/name_f]
[name_f]Helena[/name_f]
[name_f]Johanna[/name_f]
[name_f]Cecelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Vanessa[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosalia[/name_f]
[name_f]Zinnia[/name_f]
[name_f]Luella[/name_f]
[name_f]Linnea[/name_f]
[name_f]Talia[/name_f]/[name_f]Thalia[/name_f]
[name_f]Paloma[/name_f]
[name_f]Fenella[/name_f]
[name_f]Polina[/name_f]
[name_f]Theodora[/name_f]
[name_f]Christiana[/name_f]
[name_f]Araminta[/name_f]
[name_f]Vienna[/name_f]
[name_f]Winona[/name_f]
[name_f]Cassandra[/name_f]
[name_f]Noella[/name_f]
[name_f]Justina[/name_f]
[name_f]Jordana[/name_f]
[name_f]Leona[/name_f]
[name_f]Leonora[/name_f]
[name_f]Lavinia[/name_f]
[name_f]Mattea[/name_f]
[name_f]Bianca[/name_f]
Oh I think [name_f]Varina[/name_f] or [name_f]Verina[/name_f] (pronounced [name_f]Ver[/name_f]-ee-na) would be perfect. I have a friend who named her daughter this and it is beautiful. She goes by [name_f]Vreni[/name_f] as a nickname.
I like [name_f]Petra[/name_f], but she might feel left out. I’m not sure. The -a ending might be enough.
I suggest:
[name_f]Karenna[/name_f], [name_f]Eliana[/name_f], [name_f]Milena[/name_f], and
[name_f]Lana[/name_f]
[name_f]Mena[/name_f]/[name_f]Mina[/name_f]/[name_f]Minna[/name_f]
[name_f]Ravenna[/name_f]
[name_f]Reyna[/name_f]/[name_f]Rayna[/name_f]/[name_f]Raina[/name_f]
Loraina
[name_f]Rosalina[/name_f]
[name_f]Serena[/name_f]/[name_f]Sirena[/name_f]
[name_f]Lena[/name_f]/[name_f]Lina[/name_f]/[name_f]Lenna[/name_f] ([name_m]Len[/name_m]-na)
[name_f]Sienna[/name_f]
[name_f]Selena[/name_f]/[name_f]Celina[/name_f]
[name_f]Lona[/name_f]
[name_f]Adelina[/name_f]
[name_f]Seraphina[/name_f]
[name_f]Evangelina[/name_f]
[name_f]Evelina[/name_f]
[name_f]Martina[/name_f]
[name_f]Marlena[/name_f]
[name_f]Delphina[/name_f]/[name_f]Delfina[/name_f]
[name_u]Dana[/name_u]/[name_f]Dayna[/name_f]/[name_f]Daina[/name_f]
[name_f]Andrina[/name_f]
[name_f]Audrina[/name_f]
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f]
[name_f]Genna[/name_f]/[name_f]Jenna[/name_f]
[name_f]Hanna[/name_f]
[name_f]Iona[/name_f]
[name_f]Ilona[/name_f]
Jacquelina
[name_f]Jolina[/name_f]
[name_f]Janna[/name_f]/[name_f]Jana[/name_f]
Jaina
[name_f]Mona[/name_f]
[name_f]Kenna[/name_f]
[name_f]Luna[/name_f]
[name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f]
[name_f]Philomena[/name_f]
With your girls names, my favourites are [name_f]Fiona[/name_f], [name_f]Hanna[/name_f], [name_f]Lana[/name_f], [name_f]Iona[/name_f], [name_f]Lena[/name_f], [name_f]Sienna[/name_f], [name_f]Celina[/name_f], [name_f]Adelina[/name_f], [name_f]Evelina[/name_f], and [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f].
I know a Jianna. It’s pronounced Jee-an-uh.
[name_f]Audrina[/name_f] is a beautiful name, much nicer than [name_f]Andrina[/name_f], imo.
I like the suggestion of [name_f]Verina[/name_f], although I prefer the spelling [name_f]Verena[/name_f].
[name_f]Audrina[/name_f]
[name_f]Verena[/name_f]
[name_f]Juliana[/name_f]
[name_f]Adriana[/name_f]
[name_f]Viviana[/name_f]
[name_f]Vienna[/name_f]
[name_f]Antonina[/name_f]
[name_f]Nicolina[/name_f]
I like [name_f]Evelina[/name_f] & [name_f]Josefina[/name_f] & [name_f]Petra[/name_f].
[name_f]Alina[/name_f] is definitely too close to [name_f]Eliana[/name_f] & [name_f]Milena[/name_f].
Another option might be [name_f]Paulina[/name_f]?
Also, how about a name ending in -ine. Same n, but different without the a - ie. [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] or [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]/[name_f]Eveline[/name_f]. [name_f]Karenna[/name_f], [name_f]Eliana[/name_f], [name_f]Milena[/name_f] & [name_f]Adeline[/name_f]. They sound perfect to me.
