Help naming after grandparents

We’re having a girl who could be named after any of these grandparents:
[name_m]Leonard[/name_m]
[name_m]Cecil[/name_m]
[name_m]William[/name_m]
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
[name_u]Joyce[/name_u]

and I am struggling! I have a very unusual name and definitely don’t want to give her a popular name (no matter how many cute nns exist for [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]). Our last name is 3 syllables and starts with H. So far the only names we’re considering are
[name_f]Cecily[/name_f]
[name_f]Leora[/name_f]

I’d love to hear some more suggestions!!

I’m partial to [name_f]Cecile[/name_f]. I might choose [name_f]Cecile[/name_f] [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f]. Best wishes!

Did you want combos, or just first name suggestions? From your options, some names that spring to mind are:
[name_f]Leona[/name_f]
[name_f]Leonora[/name_f]
Lenore
[name_f]Cecelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Willow[/name_f]
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f]
[name_f]Lizette[/name_f]
[name_f]Joy[/name_f]
[name_f]Gioia[/name_f] (means [name_f]Joy[/name_f] in Italian)

If you wanted some combos:
[name_f]Leora[/name_f] [name_f]Joy[/name_f]
[name_f]Leonora[/name_f] [name_f]Joy[/name_f]
[name_f]Willa[/name_f] [name_f]Cecile[/name_f]
[name_f]Cecily[/name_f] [name_f]Willow[/name_f]
[name_f]Cecily[/name_f] [name_f]Lenore[/name_f]
[name_f]Cecelia[/name_f] [name_f]Lizette[/name_f]
[name_f]Cecelia[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f]
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Willow[/name_f]

All of these are variations or mean the same thing
[name_m]Leonard[/name_m]- [name_f]Ariela[/name_f] , Dandelion , leandra , Zariel , leona

[name_m]Cecil[/name_m] - [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] , nydia , [name_f]Sheila[/name_f]

[name_m]William[/name_m] - wilma [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] willa willow [name_f]Twyla[/name_f] vilma [name_f]Willetta[/name_f] wilda wilona

[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]- [name_f]Alzbet[/name_f] [name_f]Elisabet[/name_f] elisabetta [name_f]Elisavet[/name_f] [name_f]Elspeth[/name_f] [name_f]Liesel[/name_f] [name_f]Lisette[/name_f]

[name_f]Cecelia[/name_f] is my first thought! [name_f]My[/name_f] favs for you are:

[name_f]Cecelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Celia[/name_f]
[name_f]Willa[/name_f]
[name_f]Lenore[/name_f]
[name_f]Leona[/name_f]
[name_f]Lorna[/name_f]
[name_f]Leonie[/name_f]
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f]

[name_f]Leonie[/name_f] is pretty. You can also say it the [name_m]French[/name_m] way and spell it with an accent, emphasising the ‘lé’ rather than the ‘on’

[name_m]Hi[/name_m]!

I second the suggestions of

[name_f]Cecily[/name_f]
[name_f]Leona[/name_f]
[name_f]Leonora[/name_f]

Unusual and feminine

Some I picked for the similarity in meaning, some for the sound, some for both.

[name_m]Leonard[/name_m]- [name_f]Leonie[/name_f], [name_f]Leonor[/name_f], [name_f]Leonora[/name_f], [name_u]Ariel[/name_u], [name_f]Leya[/name_f], [name_f]Leandra[/name_f], [name_f]Leontine[/name_f], [name_f]Aria[/name_f].

[name_m]Cecil[/name_m]- [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f], [name_f]Celia[/name_f], [name_f]Zilke[/name_f], [name_f]Celeste[/name_f] / [name_f]Celestia[/name_f] / [name_f]Celestina[/name_f] / [name_f]Celestial[/name_f], [name_f]Cerelia[/name_f], [name_u]Ceylon[/name_u], [name_f]Cerys[/name_f].

[name_m]William[/name_m]- [name_f]Willa[/name_f], [name_u]Billie[/name_u], [name_f]Twila[/name_f], [name_u]Abilene[/name_u] (a bit of a stretch though), [name_f]Rosamond[/name_f] / [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f], [name_u]Wylie[/name_u].

[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]- [name_f]Elspeth[/name_f], [name_f]Elza[/name_f] (also means ‘joy’, so it could honour [name_u]Joyce[/name_u] as well.), [name_f]Elsa[/name_f], [name_f]Eliza[/name_f], [name_f]Lilibet[/name_f], [name_f]Lilibeth[/name_f], [name_f]Elke[/name_f], [name_f]Eliana[/name_f], [name_f]Eliane[/name_f], [name_f]Elodie[/name_f], Zabeth, Azile, [name_f]Bette[/name_f], [name_f]Elsie[/name_f], [name_f]Bettina[/name_f], [name_f]Lisette[/name_f], [name_f]Ilsa[/name_f], [name_f]Ilse[/name_f], [name_f]Tibby[/name_f], [name_f]Isabeau[/name_f], [name_f]Isabetta[/name_f], [name_f]Elyse[/name_f].

[name_u]Joyce[/name_u]- [name_f]Jolie[/name_f], [name_f]Gioia[/name_f], [name_f]Allegra[/name_f], [name_f]Bayo[/name_f], [name_f]Leta[/name_f] / [name_f]Letitia[/name_f] (for [name_m]Leonard[/name_m] too).

I think [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] is lovely! Have you considered [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] [name_f]Willa[/name_f]? [name_f]Willa[/name_f] for [name_m]William[/name_m], and I think it goes beautifully with [name_f]Cecily[/name_f]! Another suggestion is [name_u]Joyce[/name_u] [name_f]Willa[/name_f] or [name_f]Willa[/name_f] [name_u]Joyce[/name_u]. [name_f]Leora[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is beautiful as well! As a variation of [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], there are adorable little diminutives like [name_f]Beth[/name_f] and [name_f]Bess[/name_f] and [name_f]Eliza[/name_f], and then there’s the names like [name_f]Elspeth[/name_f]. Can I also suggest [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_u]Joyce[/name_u]? I hope this was helpful in some way! Beautiful names. For [name_u]Joyce[/name_u] you could also do [name_f]Gioia[/name_f] or just [name_f]Joy[/name_f]. Maybe the [name_m]French[/name_m] word for joy, [name_f]Joie[/name_f] (pronounced "jwa).

To me, honouring is using the actual name or direct variation of it. [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] and [name_f]Leora[/name_f] are wonderful ideas.

[name_m]Leonard[/name_m] - [name_m]Leo[/name_m] (too popular?), [name_m]Leonardo[/name_m], [name_m]Leon[/name_m], [name_f]Leonarda[/name_f], [name_f]Leona[/name_f], [name_f]Leonie[/name_f], [name_f]Leontine[/name_f] // [name_f]Leonora[/name_f], [name_f]Leocadia[/name_f], [name_f]Leonor[/name_f], [name_m]Leopold[/name_m], Leopoldine , [name_m]Leander[/name_m], [name_m]Leonidas[/name_m] (similar names)
[name_m]Cecil[/name_m] - [name_f]Cecilie[/name_f], Cécile, [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f]
[name_m]William[/name_m] - [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f], [name_f]Williamina[/name_f], [name_m]Willem[/name_m], [name_m]Wilkie[/name_m], [name_m]Willis[/name_m], Wilmot, Wilkin, [name_m]Wilson[/name_m] // [name_m]Wilfred[/name_m], [name_m]Wilbur[/name_m], [name_m]Willard[/name_m], [name_m]Wilbert[/name_m], [name_u]Willoughby[/name_u], [name_f]Willow[/name_f]

[name_u]Joyce[/name_u] - [name_f]Joy[/name_f], Josse/Judoc (masculine form of this name), Jocosa // [name_f]Felicity[/name_f], [name_f]Allegra[/name_f], [name_m]Felix[/name_m] (same meaning)
