I posted a thread a time ago asking for help naming my little girl and was overwhelmed with all of the lovely names suggested by fellow berries Isla is the name we’re mostly likely to use if anybody is interested!
My best friend [name_f]Jennifer[/name_f] has just found out she’s also pregnant with her first child and I am so happy for her! However, she is finding it hard to choose a name she and her partner both adore. She has already chosen a male name (she is honoring her deceased brother and using a family name on her partners side) but the female name is proving to be a bit of a problem.
Their last name is [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] and they want to use [name_u]Wren[/name_u] for a middle name to honor her sister in a quirky way (her sister is called [name_u]Robin[/name_u] and they wanted to use a bird name that would work as a middle, hence [name_u]Wren[/name_u], although [name_u]Robin[/name_u] is a lovely name). She is flexible on the placement of [name_u]Wren[/name_u] though, she just hasn’t found a way to make it work for a first name yet.
On their list so far is:
[name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u] [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] (the favourite so far)
[name_f]Georgia[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u] [name_u]Taylor[/name_u]
[name_f]Cara[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u] [name_u]Taylor[/name_u]
[name_f]Olivia[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u] [name_u]Taylor[/name_u]
[name_f]Isolde[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u] [name_u]Taylor[/name_u]
[name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u] [name_u]Taylor[/name_u]/[name_f]Norah[/name_f]
[name_f]Nova[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u] [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] (This is the name of my own daughter (Nova Leigh), but my friend also likes this name and it honestly wouldn’t bother me if she used it, even though she says she is unlikely to)
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u] [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] nn perry
[name_u]Ellis[/name_u] [name_u]Wren[/name_u] [name_u]Taylor[/name_u]
Eden Wren Taylor (rhyming factor?)
Eliza Wren Taylor
Isla Wren Taylor? (Just out of interest, although I’ve got this on my list too and my friend’s husband has vetoed it)
We have quite a similar naming style; my friend is a big fan of poetry, and anything with a bit of a story behind it/beautiful meaning. She loves anything a bit different, especially unisex names like [name_u]Wren[/name_u] paired with what I would describe as feminine names. [name_f]Jennifer[/name_f] is British and was wondering how well the names translate in the US, with accents and commonality?
If you have any opinions on [name_f]Jennifer[/name_f]'s current name choices or suggestions then please let us know what you think!
Thank you for reading!
[name_f]Lauren[/name_f] and [name_f]Jen[/name_f] xx
My favorite is [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u] [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] ! I think it’s darling. I don’t think you can go wrong with any of your choices. Although, [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u] is a little wordy for me.
My favorite is [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u] [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] because [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u] is on my list for a future child! I really think [name_u]Wren[/name_u] is sweet for her sister, and it works well with [name_u]Taylor[/name_u]. I would, however, advise her to use a three-syllable first name:
[name_f]Adela[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u] [name_u]Taylor[/name_u]
[name_u]Bellamy[/name_u] [name_u]Wren[/name_u] [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] - This is decidedly unisex, but works because of the feminine nickname potential.
[name_f]Camilla[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u] [name_u]Taylor[/name_u]
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u] [name_u]Taylor[/name_u]
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u] [name_u]Taylor[/name_u]
[name_f]Georgina[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u] [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] - Super [name_u]Brit[/name_u] chic. Plus, isn’t [name_f]Gigi[/name_f] fun?
[name_f]Jessamy[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u] [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] - Unusual name, stand-out, and interesting nickname options ([name_u]Jessy[/name_u], [name_f]Jessa[/name_f], [name_u]Jess[/name_u])!
[name_f]Leona[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u] [name_u]Taylor[/name_u]
[name_f]Morgana[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u] [name_u]Taylor[/name_u]
[name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u] [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] - She could still call her [name_u]Perry[/name_u]/[name_u]Peri[/name_u]/[name_f]Perrie[/name_f] if she likes…
[name_f]Shoshana[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u] [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] - A form of [name_f]Susannah[/name_f], and [name_f]Sosie[/name_f] is my favorite offbeat [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] nickname that works well here.
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u] [name_u]Taylor[/name_u]
[name_f]Nova[/name_f] is our top choice for our little girl in [name_u]March[/name_u]! We are thinking [name_f]Nova[/name_f] [name_f]Juliet[/name_f]. I have been sorta on the fence, so I’m really glad to see someone else that has used it as well. What have people’s reactions been to her name if you don’t mind me asking? I think it is absolutley beautiful and I know that is all that really matters.
I absolutely adore [name_f]Nova[/name_f] [name_f]Juliet[/name_f]! I chose [name_f]Nova[/name_f] [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] ([name_u]Leigh[/name_u] is my maiden name) and my parents reactions at first were ‘oh that’s an interesting name…’ but they soon got used to it and now can’t imagine their grandaughter being called anything else. Other people’s reactions have been very positive, I always get compliments on its originality and uniqueness and it’s also easy to spell. It’s also nice that when people ask what [name_f]Nova[/name_f] is my little girl can tell them her names special meaning. A favourite remark of mine is [name_f]Nova[/name_f]? Like supernova? We are yet to meet another [name_f]Nova[/name_f] which was important to me, as my name is [name_f]Lauren[/name_f] and I really disliked having such a common name.
I hope that was somewhat useful, and congratulations!!!
