Okie dokie so here’s the dealio. We are having our third (and last) child in [name_u]August[/name_u] and we came up with these names month ago, but still haven’t decided! Here are our choices and the reasons for the names:
First Names:
Ender- Ender is a Turkish name that means “unique”, which we love. Also, it’s from the book “Ender’s Game”, which was one of my favorites as a teen. Lastly, Ender is a pretty modern and unique name, but it’s still known and we like that balance.
[name_m]Peter[/name_m]- [name_m]Peter[/name_m] is the name of my neighbor growing up. He was a big role model in my life and passed away last year. If we were to name our child [name_m]Peter[/name_m], he would probably go by “[name_m]Pete[/name_m]”. One of the reasons we don’t like this name, though, is that it is quite common.
Middle Names:
[name_m]Louie[/name_m]- [name_m]Louie[/name_m] is a meaningful name ("warrior), which we like. Also, we just like how it sounds, honestly.
[name_m]Heath[/name_m]- [name_m]Heath[/name_m] [name_m]Ledger[/name_m] is one of my favorite actors ever. Brokeback Mountain was a very important part of my young adulthood, as it was collectively my family’s favorite movie. Also, my husband and I became friends in high school because of our love for The Dark [name_m]Knight[/name_m].
Another vote for [name_m]Peter[/name_m] [name_m]Heath[/name_m]. I like [name_m]Heath[/name_m] as a middle name but Ender sounds sort of violent to me? Like I’m going to end you? Maybe that’s just me I don’t know. [name_m]Percival[/name_m] [name_m]Heath[/name_m] could be another option
My dad’s name is [name_m]Peter[/name_m]. I’ve always liked it, especially because it means “rock”, and he has always been my rock who I could depend and rely on. I would also say that whilst it is a familiar name, it is not too commonly used by this generation.
I agree with the previous poster, I prefer Ender with your other kids’ names. [name_m]Peter[/name_m] seems a bit plain next to [name_m]Rohmer[/name_m] and [name_f]Kaya[/name_f]. Also, I think it’s too similar to [name_m]Rohmer[/name_m], since they end in the same sound if you yelled out “[name_m]Rohmer[/name_m]/[name_m]Peter[/name_m]!” the wrong child could reply. Another reason why I dislike [name_m]Peter[/name_m] is that the first thing that comes to mind when I hear [name_m]Pete[/name_m]/[name_m]Petey[/name_m] is the word “armpit”. My favorite Ender combo is Ender [name_m]Louie[/name_m] though Ender [name_m]Heath[/name_m] is great too
With [name_f]Kaya[/name_f] and [name_m]Rohmer[/name_m], [name_m]Peter[/name_m] is a bit bland. Ender [name_m]Louie[/name_m] or Ender [name_m]Heath[/name_m] are great
Ender [name_m]Heath[/name_m]. I like [name_m]Peter[/name_m],it’s my husband’s name. But it seems so traditional next to your other kids. I don’t usually care about sib sets as each person is an individual and I think should be named in consideration of what will serve them the best throughout life not which name will look best next to their siblings on a holiday card… but [name_m]Peter[/name_m] does seem out of place next to [name_f]Kaya[/name_f] and [name_m]Rohmer[/name_m]. And you have two options you love so might as well let the flow with other names in the family factor in.
I also like Ender because he’s your third and last baby and the end of your family, the name can symbolize that he completes you all.
I really love [name_m]Peter[/name_m], don’t think it gets enough love at all. But with your other children’s names being so unique I think I would go with Ender. I go between really liking the name and feeling that it’s kind of weird due to the fact that it seems like it means “one who ends things” or something. Which I guess it did in Ender’s Game, not really sure if that’s a negative or a positive though. Also thought it was funny (and a bit strange) that in the book [name_m]Peter[/name_m] is Ender’s diabolical brother…
I like the combo Ender [name_m]Louie[/name_m] [name_m]Heath[/name_m] best.
