HELP naming twins!

We are expecting twins in [name_u]January[/name_u] and we are working on our name lists.

I had an untrasound and one baby is definitely a boy and the other was uncooperative but they think that it is a girl. I have a list for boys and girls. Could some berries help with making a twin sibset? We are open to new names to add to our lists too! [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t be shy!

Boys
[name_m]Connor[/name_m]
[name_m]Jackson[/name_m] (husband likes it but it is so popular)
[name_m]Harrison[/name_m]
[name_u]Rory[/name_u]

Girls
[name_f]Lillian[/name_f]
[name_u]Robin[/name_u]
[name_u]Cheyenne[/name_u]
[name_u]River[/name_u]

I also am having a debate with myself as far as middle names… [name_m]Both[/name_m] my husband’s and my grandfathers passed away the month these babies were conceived after years of trying. [name_m]Both[/name_m] of them were very influential in our lives and we would like to honor them. Their names were [name_m]Edward[/name_m] and [name_u]James[/name_u]. [name_f]My[/name_f] dilemma is if one twin is a girl would it be weird to give her a very traditionally masculine middle name? I know a lot of you don’t like giving girls masculine names but i didn’t know if it would be as bad as a middle. Thoughts?

[name_u]Jaime[/name_u] might be a good middle name option for a little girl. Best wishes!

DD/DS: [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] & [name_u]Cheyenne[/name_u] would be my favorite. Or [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] & [name_u]River[/name_u]. I know [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] is popular but I love that name as well!

I think [name_m]Harrison[/name_m] and [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] would be adorable and you could call them [name_m]Harry[/name_m] & [name_f]Lily[/name_f] ;). I also like [name_m]Connor[/name_m] and [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] (it would be my second choice if I ranked them).

As for middles, I think [name_u]James[/name_u] would be fine for a girl. It’s a unisex name and [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] [name_u]James[/name_u] is really cute. It’s kind of spunky and helps tone down the femininity of [name_f]Lillian[/name_f]. [name_m]Harrison[/name_m] [name_m]Edward[/name_m] is also a very nice combo. It has vintage/classic feel.

Congratulations!

I love [name_u]Rory[/name_u] and [name_u]Cheyenne[/name_u] from your list (no one ever uses [name_u]Cheyenne[/name_u], I feel!)

Other suggestions:
[name_m]Colin[/name_m] & [name_f]Dawn[/name_f]
[name_u]Hudson[/name_u] & [name_u]Dakota[/name_u]
[name_u]Finn[/name_u] & [name_u]Raven[/name_u]

I think [name_u]James[/name_u] works as a girls middle name perfectly fine, and [name_m]Edward[/name_m] is a beautiful middle for a baby boy

Good luck! Please let us know what you choose!

I love the suggestion of [name_m]Harrison[/name_m] and [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] together. [name_m]How[/name_m] about using [name_f]Jane[/name_f] as a middle name, to honor [name_u]James[/name_u]?
[name_m]Harrison[/name_m] [name_m]Edward[/name_m] and [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f].

I absolutely adore masculine names for girls. There are sooooooooooo many and almost any name works feminine, it’s fine.

I really like [name_m]Connor[/name_m] [name_m]Edward[/name_m] and [name_m]Harrison[/name_m] [name_m]Edward[/name_m] and [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] [name_u]James[/name_u] or [name_u]Cheyenne[/name_u] [name_u]James[/name_u]. I think [name_m]Harrison[/name_m] [name_m]Edward[/name_m] and [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] [name_u]James[/name_u] are very nice together. [name_u]Cheyenne[/name_u] and [name_m]Connor[/name_m] work well together, too!

I named my son (middle name) after my grandfather. Grandpa passed away the day before my son was born and I have never regretted honoring my grandfather. [name_f]My[/name_f] son is 24 and it still makes me happy that he has my grandfather’s name.

[name_u]Rory[/name_u] and [name_m]Jack[/name_m]
[name_m]Jack[/name_m] and [name_f]Lillian[/name_f]
[name_f]Lillian[/name_f] and [name_u]Wren[/name_u]

Of the two middle names, I would use [name_m]Edward[/name_m] for a boy and [name_u]James[/name_u] for a girl.

[name_f]My[/name_f] favorites combos from your list are:

b/g: [name_m]Harrison[/name_m] [name_m]Edward[/name_m] and [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] [name_u]James[/name_u]
B/b: [name_m]Connor[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] and [name_u]Rory[/name_u] [name_m]Edward[/name_m]

I think it would be fine to use [name_u]James[/name_u] as a middle name for a girl, as long as the first name is clearly feminine. [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] [name_u]James[/name_u] is nice; [name_u]River[/name_u], [name_u]Cheyenne[/name_u] and [name_u]Robin[/name_u] are unisex names that are still very much used on boys, so if they had the middle name [name_u]James[/name_u] I would immediately assume their parents deliberately chose it to clearly emphasize that they are men ([name_u]River[/name_u] [name_u]James[/name_u] vs. [name_u]River[/name_u] [name_f]Lillian[/name_f]).

I like [name_m]Connor[/name_m] and [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] a lot, followed by [name_m]Harrison[/name_m] and [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] ([name_m]Harry[/name_m] and [name_f]Lily[/name_f] would be lovely).

Yup, I totally agree [name_u]James[/name_u] would work great with [name_f]Lillian[/name_f], but not as much with your other girl options.

[name_u]Love[/name_u] the combo [name_m]Harrison[/name_m] & [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] that everyone is voting for.

[name_m]Connor[/name_m] & [name_u]Rory[/name_u] is also nice.

Suggestions:
[name_m]Harrison[/name_m] [name_m]Connor[/name_m] [name_m]Edward[/name_m] & [name_u]Cheyenne[/name_u] [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_u]James[/name_u]
[name_m]Harrison[/name_m] [name_m]Edward[/name_m] & [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] [name_u]James[/name_u]
[name_m]Harrison[/name_m] [name_m]Edward[/name_m] & [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_u]James[/name_u]

[name_f]Jane[/name_f] is the feminine variation of [name_u]James[/name_u]. So I’d use that to honor your grandfather!

I like [name_m]Harrison[/name_m] & [name_f]Lily[/name_f]. ([name_f]Lilian[/name_f] is nice but i have a “thing” with names ending the same way…in this case the “n”)

[name_m]Harrison[/name_m] [name_m]Edward[/name_m] & [name_f]Lily[/name_f]/[name_f]Lilian[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] = lovely!

This is how I would match these for boy/ girl twins : top two are my favorites-
[name_u]River[/name_u] & [name_m]Connor[/name_m]
[name_f]Lillian[/name_f] & [name_m]Harrison[/name_m]
[name_u]Robin[/name_u] & [name_u]Rory[/name_u]
[name_f]Cheyanne[/name_f] & [name_m]Jackson[/name_m]

For boy/boy I would go with
[name_m]Connor[/name_m] & [name_u]Rory[/name_u] from your picks

And I believe [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is the feminine version of [name_m]John[/name_m] and while there are many forms of both names the most feminine versions of [name_u]James[/name_u] would be [name_u]Jamie[/name_u] & maybe [name_u]Jameson[/name_u].

I also agree that
[name_f]Lillian[/name_f] [name_u]James[/name_u] is a lovely name and I would think you’d have no trouble with it.

(Sorry I’m posting these as separate posts  I have little ones to chase so every thought is going in on its own)
So anyway I love the idea of naming your twins with their grandfathers names. Here are all the options I have for you that I’m thinking of.
[name_u]James[/name_u] [name_m]Edward[/name_m] for the boy
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f] [name_u]River[/name_u] for a girl
Adorable and keeps both names firmly masculine
If you have 2 boys and you could
[name_m]Harrison[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u]
[name_m]Connor[/name_m] [name_m]Edward[/name_m]
Again great combinations and keeps them both masculine
For boy girl twins
[name_m]Harrison[/name_m] [name_m]Edward[/name_m]
[name_f]Lillian[/name_f] [name_u]James[/name_u]
Really cute and it was quite common for girls to receive masculine names here and there throughout history. In Greece girls just got their fathers names feminized actually its fine don’t over think it. Definitly stick with your most feminine name with her if you do that
Congratulations

Thanks so much for all of the great ideas!! I will let you all know what we choose in the end but thankfully we have plenty of time until they are due to be here and need official names

I love your other suggestions! [name_f]My[/name_f] husband’s name is [name_u]Dakota[/name_u] and our dog is named [name_m]Fynn[/name_m] (pronounced the same as [name_u]Finn[/name_u])! You really hit my tastes right on the head with those suggestions!!

I like James as a middle name for a girl, but if it bothers you more “girly” alternatives would be Jay or Jade.

If it’s two boys, I’d go with Connor James and Rory Edward, and for a boy and a girl, Rory Edward and Lillian James.
