Help Naming Young Teen

I need some help naming my main character’s best friend. The main character is named Alioth, she has pale skin with freckles, red-brown hair, is pretty short, and she’s very quiet and sweet. Her best friend is fairly average in height, maybe a little taller than normal, has dark skin, long black hair that’s usually in a messy bun, and big brown eyes. She appears feisty and bold, but that’s often just a mask. She only truly lets her guard down around Alioth ([name_u]Ali[/name_u]). She originally was named Elisabelle with the nickname [name_f]Belle[/name_f], but I’m afraid that since Alioth is such an uncommon name I should stick to slightly more common names for the other characters. I like the name [name_f]Roe[/name_f] for her, maybe as a nickname for [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] or something else, but it would probably be associated with [name_u]Rue[/name_u] from the Hunger Games. I also imagine my character as looking similar to [name_u]Rue[/name_u]. Any suggestions for names would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone!:smiley:

I like [name_f]Roe[/name_f]. Maybe spell it [name_f]Ro[/name_f], I don’t associate it with the Hunger Games. [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] is good.

I second [name_f]Ro[/name_f]. [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] would be good. Other names:

Also, if your main character has the only uncommon name in your story, it can sound out of place and even a bit [name_f]Mary[/name_f] Sueish. So, don’t shy away from uncommon names just because you have one character with an unusual name, just try to find a balance.
