We can’t seem to agree on a name for a second boy (should we have one). Our sons name is [name_m]Liam[/name_m]. His middle name is [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] (family name). Our last name is Irish and two syllables.
In semi order of my preference:
[name_u]Finn[/name_u] (not my husbands favorite, unfortunately)
[name_m]Graham[/name_m] (worried about cracker jokes. Also we are in the US, so it’s gram, not gray-Um)
[name_u]Everett[/name_u] (again, not my husbands first choice)
[name_m]Declan[/name_m] (our dog is dexter “dex” I can’t decide if that’s a problem or not)
[name_m]Calvin[/name_m] (not a fan of the connection to the theologian or the meaning)
[name_m]Julian[/name_m] (what comes to mind when you hear [name_m]Julian[/name_m]?)
[name_m]Oliver[/name_m] ([name_m]Liam[/name_m]’s almost name, feels like a left over)
What names you do like best from this list and if you have any other suggestions that would be great.
I love [name_u]Finn[/name_u] and [name_m]Oliver[/name_m]! [name_m]Graham[/name_m] is great, but I understand the cracker worry. [name_m]Callum[/name_m] is another name that I think could work well!
I have always loved [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] and [name_u]Finn[/name_u]. I think some other possibilities are [name_m]Lucas[/name_m] [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m], but that does start with an L… similar to [name_m]Liam[/name_m]. I don’t like [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] and [name_m]Julian[/name_m] that much but that is just my opinion. I think that [name_m]Declan[/name_m] is a bit too similar to [name_u]Dexter[/name_u] which could be confusing for both the baby and the dog. In the end it is your opinion and all of the names are cute in their own ways:)
My favorite for you would be [name_m]Declan[/name_m]. I think it would sound awesome with [name_m]Liam[/name_m]. Also like [name_m]Graham[/name_m], I personally don’t care about the graham cracker connection but that’s just me.
What about using [name_u]Finn[/name_u] as a nickname for [name_u]Finley[/name_u]? There’s also [name_m]Griffin[/name_m] as a way to get to [name_u]Finn[/name_u].
I like [name_m]Graham[/name_m] but have the same reservations about it as you do because of the cracker.
I really like [name_u]Everett[/name_u]. Would your husband like it better if you used the nickname [name_m]Rhett[/name_m]? Or what about [name_u]Emmett[/name_u]?
I’m not a big fan of [name_m]Declan[/name_m] but I see the appeal of it. It is similar to [name_u]Dexter[/name_u] but I don’t think it should be a deal breaker. What about [name_m]Damian[/name_m]?
I like [name_m]Calvin[/name_m]. Other [name_u]Cal[/name_u] names are [name_m]Caledon[/name_m], [name_m]Caleb[/name_m], and [name_m]Calhoun[/name_m]. I’ll throw [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] out there too.
[name_m]Julian[/name_m] is different than your other names but I think it’s a cool name and could work. The only problem is the last four letters of [name_m]Julian[/name_m] almost spell [name_m]Liam[/name_m].
I met a little [name_m]Graham[/name_m] who called [name_m]Graham[/name_m] Crackers “MY crackers”, which was so adorable I now see the [name_m]Graham[/name_m] crackers thing as a plus.
I like [name_m]Oliver[/name_m], [name_m]Declan[/name_m], and [name_m]Calvin[/name_m]! [name_f]Do[/name_f] people still regularly discuss Calvinism and the theologian? My first association is [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] and [name_m]Hobbes[/name_m], which is a very positive association for me. Never thought of Calvinism until you mentioned it and I still don’t think its a strong association.
Ok the “my crackers” thing is absolutely adorable. I think you are right about [name_m]Calvin[/name_m], [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] and [name_m]Hobbes[/name_m] will probably be everyone’s first thought.
My favorites are [name_u]Finn[/name_u] and [name_m]Oliver[/name_m]. I don’t think [name_m]Graham[/name_m] crackers is a big deal at all, and I didn’t think of Calvinism either.
