Both [name_u]Jude[/name_u] and [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] are great choices so you can’t go wrong with either. Something that came to mind for me is that [name_m]Butch[/name_m]€r is a somewhat harsh sounding name and I think [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] with a softer sound, balances it out. [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] [name_m]Butch[/name_m]€r sounds slightly better than [name_u]Jude[/name_u] [name_m]Butch[/name_m]€r to my ear but it wouldn’t be a deal breaker if you find that you prefer [name_u]Jude[/name_u].
I love both [name_u]Jude[/name_u] and [name_u]Cal[/name_u] so you can’t go wrong. I voted [name_u]Jude[/name_u] but I have a soft spot for Biblical names.
[name_m]Calvin[/name_m] is sweet and quirky, and I agree with pp that it seems to soften out the last name better. I like [name_u]Jude[/name_u] a lot too, but my vote definitely goes to [name_m]Calvin[/name_m]. As for the middle name, it depends on a ) whether using an honoring middle is very important and b ) could you keep the name you don’t use for a future child? (a.k.a do you plan on a third or not).
Either [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] [name_m]Robert[/name_m] or [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] [name_u]Jude[/name_u] sounds great to me.
