Help! Need a girl name as sister to Kate, Jack, and Luke

Our girl is already here (4 weeks old) and we are totally stuck :open_mouth:! Siblings are [name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], and [name_m]Luke[/name_m] (those are given names, not shortened). We thought we had a ā€œshort list,ā€ but none of them are right. I like short, timeless names, but am discovering I donā€™t like names with less than three sounds ([name_f]Anne[/name_f] has two, whereas [name_f]Kate[/name_f] has three, even though both are one syllable, for example). To give you an idea of our failed shortlist, some examples are [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] (too soft sounding??), [name_f]Emma[/name_f] (too popular?), [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] or [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] (too frilly?), [name_u]Reese[/name_u] or [name_f]Elle[/name_f] (too modern?), [name_f]Claire[/name_f] (donā€™t like the ā€œrā€ ending). [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Jane[/name_f], [name_f]Eve[/name_f] are out. Help!!!

[name_f]Ruth[/name_f]
[name_f]Dawn[/name_f]
[name_f]Faith[/name_f]
[name_f]Grace[/name_f]
[name_u]Skye[/name_u]
[name_f]Paige[/name_f]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f]
[name_f]Beth[/name_f]

I think [name_f]Emma[/name_f] would really match well. Iā€™m not sure about official statistics or anything but I feel like I know more little Jacks and [name_m]Lukes[/name_m] than Emmas. If itā€™s really out, then maybe [name_f]Pearl[/name_f], [name_f]Maia[/name_f] or [name_f]Elsa[/name_f]/[name_f]Elsie[/name_f]?

[name_f]Cora[/name_f]
[name_f]Gwen[/name_f]
[name_f]Nora[/name_f]
[name_f]Erin[/name_f]
[name_f]Liza[/name_f]
[name_f]Cleo[/name_f]
[name_f]Erika[/name_f]

[name_f]Meg[/name_f] was the first name that popped into my head when I read your list

[name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Luke[/name_m], & [name_f]Meg[/name_f]

Your current 3 all have a ā€œkā€ in them, maybe your missing that sound to bring them all together? Iā€™m drawing a blank mostly but [name_f]Cora[/name_f], [name_f]Cleo[/name_f], [name_f]Kara[/name_f], [name_f]Chloe[/name_f], [name_u]Mika[/name_u], [name_f]Lark[/name_f], [name_f]Camille[/name_f], [name_f]Erika[/name_f]/[name_f]Erica[/name_f]?

[name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Luke[/name_m], & [name_f]Kara[/name_f]
[name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Luke[/name_m], & [name_f]Chloe[/name_f]
[name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Luke[/name_m], & [name_f]Camille[/name_f]

The ā€œjustā€ [name_f]Kate[/name_f] I know has sisters [name_f]Nora[/name_f] & [name_f]Maeve[/name_f].

[name_f]Ally[/name_f]
[name_f]Maya[/name_f]
[name_f]Ivy[/name_f]
[name_u]Mika[/name_u]
[name_f]Kara[/name_f]
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f]
[name_u]Abby[/name_u]
[name_f]Ava[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]

The first thing I noticed was that all the names so far are four letters long. Here are some name ideas for your sib-set with four lettered names.

[name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Luke[/name_m] andā€¦

[name_f]Emmi[/name_f] ([name_f]Emmy[/name_f])
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] ([name_f]Anni[/name_f], maybe [name_f]Annelie[/name_f], though that breaks the four letter criteria)
[name_f]Amie[/name_f] ([name_f]Amy[/name_f], [name_f]Aimee[/name_f] though not 4 letters)
[name_f]Sera[/name_f] ([name_f]Sara[/name_f])
[name_f]Mary[/name_f] (one of my favorite combinations is [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] or [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Gwen[/name_f])
[name_f]Gwen[/name_f]
[name_f]Lise[/name_f] (a name derived from the classic [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f])
[name_u]Lisa[/name_u] "
[name_f]Lori[/name_f]
[name_f]Lora[/name_f]
[name_f]Nora[/name_f]
[name_f]Cora[/name_f]
[name_f]Cara[/name_f]
[name_f]Dora[/name_f]
[name_u]Dara[/name_u]

Though Iā€™m not keen on repeating a first initial, but they would continue the pattern of all the names containing the letter K so far.
[name_u]Kari[/name_u]
[name_f]Keri[/name_f]
[name_f]Kara[/name_f], [name_f]Kera[/name_f]
[name_f]Kira[/name_f], [name_f]Kyra[/name_f]
Kily, [name_f]Kyli[/name_f]
[name_f]Kyla[/name_f]

I was the last poster and I canā€™t stop thinking about your name selection for #4.

The way I see it you like short classic names. So far the names have been all four letters, one syllable and have all contained a K. Chances of finding another name to match that pattern are slim. I think you have to accept the fact that last name is going to have to be a happy medium and somehow blend well with the other names.

Something else to think about is the fact that [name_f]Kate[/name_f] has a long A sound and the boys names have soft, short vowel sounds. It might be nice to find a name that balances the group with another long vowel sound. Also, though another one syllable name would be ideal, I actually like a two syllable name as the fourth name of the group.

[name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_f]Amy[/name_f] ([name_f]Aimee[/name_f], [name_f]Amie[/name_f])
[name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_f]Ally[/name_f] ([name_u]Allie[/name_u], [name_u]Ali[/name_u])
[name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_u]Abby[/name_u] ([name_u]Abbie[/name_u])
[name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_f]Rachel[/name_f]
[name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Luck[/name_m] and [name_f]Annie[/name_f] ([name_f]Anna[/name_f])
[name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_f]Carly[/name_f], [name_f]Carrie[/name_f] ([name_f]Caroline[/name_f])
[name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_f]Suki[/name_f], [name_f]Suzi[/name_f] ([name_f]Suzanne[/name_f], [name_f]Susanne[/name_f])
[name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_f]Isla[/name_f]
[name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_f]Nora[/name_f]
[name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_f]Nan[/name_f], [name_f]Nancy[/name_f]
[name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_f]Mary[/name_f]
[name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_f]Marin[/name_f] ([name_f]Maren[/name_f])
[name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] ([name_f]Ella[/name_f])
[name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_f]Elise[/name_f]
[name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_f]Eliza[/name_f]

Good luck with your decision. I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] your naming style.

I reread your initial post. I am so surprised you took [name_f]Claire[/name_f] off your list. I think it would make a wonderful name to complete your sibling set.

[name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_f]Claire[/name_f]

I like the way all the names are all short and sweet and the same style-wise. They donā€™t repeat the same initial letter. I think the vowel sounds in [name_f]Claire[/name_f] balance out the long A in [name_f]Kate[/name_f]. You mentioned that you did not like the R sound at the end. You could use the name [name_f]Clara[/name_f], though that is usually pronounced with a shorter A sound, but can be pronounced [name_u]CLAIR[/name_u] - a.

[name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Luke[/name_m], [name_f]Clara[/name_f]

I think you should put [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] back on your list as well. I like it spelled this way. [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] can be pronounced with more of an [name_f]AIR[/name_f] first syllable, You mentioned in your post that you thought it was too soft sounding. I like this spelling. I think it is more traditional.

[name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]

Another name I thought of that ā€œfeelsā€ like it belongs with your sibling set is [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]. Though not as widely used, it has the same old fashioned, traditional, no nonsense style as the names you have already selected. Additionally, it has long vowel sounds to balance the long A in [name_f]Kate[/name_f].

[name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]

[name_f]Bella[/name_f] is really a nice name for a girl. You can try also [name_f]Joanna[/name_f], [name_f]Catherine[/name_f], [name_f]Faye[/name_f], [name_f]Carmella[/name_f] or [name_f]Summer[/name_f]. :stuck_out_tongue:

Iā€™m very curious to know if you have narrowed down your list or come any closer to making a decision. When you do, please let us know. I canā€™t stop thinking about name possibilities.

Here is a summary of my ideas in order of preference, with some new additionsā€¦

[name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_f]Amy[/name_f]
[name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_f]Claire[/name_f]
[name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]
[name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] ([name_f]Sari[/name_f], [name_f]Sally[/name_f])
[name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_f]Anna[/name_f] ([name_f]Annie[/name_f]) Could use [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] or [name_f]Johanna[/name_f] or [name_f]Joanna[/name_f] or [name_f]Joanne[/name_f]
[name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_f]Ella[/name_f] ([name_f]Ellie[/name_f])
[name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_f]Emma[/name_f] ([name_f]Emmi[/name_f])
[name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_f]Nora[/name_f]
[name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_f]Meg[/name_f]
[name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_f]Mary[/name_f] (could use [name_f]Maire[/name_f], Irish spelling)
[name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and Mairin (Irish for [name_f]Maureen[/name_f], little [name_f]Mary[/name_f])
[name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_f]Rachel[/name_f]
[name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_f]Sybil[/name_f] (Sybi)
[name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_f]Elise[/name_f] (Lisi)
[name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_f]Susanne[/name_f] ([name_f]Susi[/name_f])
Not sure if these are your style
[name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_f]Suki[/name_f]
[name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_u]Nikki[/name_u]
[name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_u]Mika[/name_u]
[name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_u]Haley[/name_u] ([name_f]Hailey[/name_f] [name_f]Hayley[/name_f])
[name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_u]Hadley[/name_u]

My favourite is Kate, Jack, Luke and Emma. Your first three kids all have one syllable names so here are names that continue this pattern.
Kate, Jack, Luke andā€¦
Eve
Faith
Grace*
Hope
Jane
Joy
Mae
Maeve
Neve
Paige*
Raine
Tess*

And then hereā€™s is 2 or more syllable names:
Adele
Alice
Anna
Arden
Bronte
Carys
Chloe
Cora
Elise
Eliza
Ellen
Elodie
Iris
Isabel
Ivy*
Juliet
Lacey
Leah
Margo*
Matilda
Maya*
Mia
Molly
Nora
Nova*
Poppy
Ruby
Sophie
Veda
Zoe*

Hope this helps

I would personally put [name_f]Emma[/name_f] with [name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_m]Jack[/name_m] and [name_m]Luke[/name_m] but if [name_f]Emma[/name_f] is too popular maybe [name_f]Emmaline[/name_f] (a bit long compared to [name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_m]Jack[/name_m] and [name_m]Luke[/name_m] too), or [name_f]Anna[/name_f], [name_f]Isla[/name_f] or [name_f]Ada[/name_f]. If [name_f]Elle[/name_f] is too modern maybe [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] or [name_f]Ella[/name_f].

[name_f]Nicole[/name_f] might sound nice with [name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], and [name_m]Luke[/name_m] (though, as a [name_f]Nicole[/name_f], my opinion is biased). It has the same ā€˜kuhā€™ sound as her siblings, and isnā€™t totally popular anymore (it had its rise and fall in the 90s).

I like the [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] suggestion. Also [name_f]Lily[/name_f], which is short and lovely.

Maybe [name_f]Carrie[/name_f]? I know you donā€™t like the ā€œrā€ sound in [name_f]Claire[/name_f], but could it work here? If not [name_f]Carrie[/name_f] then [name_f]Cara[/name_f] (I saw itā€™s already been suggested)? Or [name_u]Casey[/name_u] (avoids the ā€œrā€ sound)?

[name_u]Alex[/name_u]: not too long, not too frilly, not too popular, and has a strong sound.

[name_f]Zoe[/name_f]: three letters but two syllables, not totally popular, and has three sounds (I think? Ze-oh-ee).

[name_f]Jade[/name_f]: three sounds (je-A-de), one syllable, evokes the beautiful image of a gemstone, and is not too frilly, long, nor popular.

[name_u]Ray[/name_u]: short, packs a punch, not too popular, monosyllabic,

[name_f]Fay[/name_f]: it might be gaining popularity but it is a classic. Iā€™m not sure if itā€™s too soft, but she could make a nice sister to [name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], and [name_m]Luke[/name_m].

[name_f]Pam[/name_f]: classic, definitely not common today, monosyllabic, short, simple, pretty.

[name_u]Max[/name_u]: might be considered a masculine name but it could be adorable on a girl. Like [name_u]Alex[/name_u], but shorter.

[name_f]May[/name_f]: more feminine than [name_u]Max[/name_u] (also possibly more popular).

[name_u]Drew[/name_u]: like [name_u]Max[/name_u], it might be considered more masculine, but it has been used on girls (like [name_u]Drew[/name_u] Barrymore) so itā€™s not unheard of.

[name_f]Meg[/name_f]: monosyllabic, simple, not popular, classic, and super cute.

I hope this is helpful! I tried to stick to your criteria as best as I could. Good luck

[name_f]Kate[/name_f] - Strong and solid, I like that you noticed they all have three sounds, that strong vowel makes them
[name_f]Kate[/name_f] starts with a K which is a solid theme in your naming, short, strong, single syllable & K,
[name_m]Jack[/name_m]
[name_m]Luke[/name_m]
There doesnā€™t seem to be a hard and fast rule regarding where the Mims placed though the boys carry it at the end, I notice also that the beginning letters are also very solid. All are typically nuns but hold their ownā€¦

My suggestions will be [name_u]Blake[/name_u], [name_u]Brooke[/name_u], [name_u]Beck[/name_u] & possibly [name_u]Mika[/name_u], as Iā€™m assuming youā€™d like them to all maintain having their first initial. [name_u]Beck[/name_u] I would think has three sounds and is typically a nn for [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f], [name_u]Brooke[/name_u] has the three sounds but possibly not the nn status, [name_u]Blake[/name_u] might have four sounds? I think three but ? Not sure if I like this on a girl, but its worth mentioning. and [name_u]Mika[/name_u], I love this name, its not really single syllable but I wanted to mention it as I think it fits well in other ways. My top pick would be [name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Luke[/name_m] & [name_u]Beck[/name_u] I think, or [name_u]Brooke[/name_u] as my second choice, I like that theyā€™re all short like that too so I would choose those as my top suggestions. Congrats on baby, hope you can choose something soon

I have a [name_f]Kate[/name_f] (given, not nickname) also. Her middle name is [name_f]Amaya[/name_f], after a late friend of mine and my daughter exclusively goes by [name_f]Maya[/name_f] by choice. Naturally, [name_f]Maya[/name_f] seems like a good fit to me.

I agree with the suggestion of [name_u]Eden[/name_u]. [name_f]Iris[/name_f] would be a great ā€œtimelessā€ name, too. What about [name_f]Nina[/name_f]?

Also [name_f]Beth[/name_f], [name_f]Maeve[/name_f], [name_f]Ruth[/name_f], [name_f]Etta[/name_f].

Iā€™m not too satisfied with my previous suggestions, so I thought Iā€™d come back with (hopefully) better ones. I tried to suggest names that werenā€™t already mentioned in this thread and I wanted to stick with K names because I do like that trend you have going on.

Kate, Jack, Luke, & Kris: reminds me of Kate without being too similar. I think it has three sounds (kuh-rih-ss). Has the same K as her siblings, but with a different sound (more kur rather than kuh). Itā€™s not too popular or frilly. If you would prefer a more feminine name, Krista could be a beautiful alternative to Kris. The -ta ending adds a little bit of strength to the softer Kris.

Kate, Jack, Luke, & Kenna: has the same hard K sound as her siblings, and has more than three sounds (Iā€™m hearing keh-n-ah but it might be kuh-eh-n-ah). I really like how it sounds with your other childrenā€™s names and I feel like it can be timeless.

Kate, Jack, Luke, & Khloe: Iā€™ve seen Cloe suggested but, in my opinion, Khloe visually suits her siblings better. Has four sounds (kuh-l-oh-ee) is a classic, skips the ā€œrā€ that ruled Claire out, and (as far as I know) is not too popular. You could go with Kloe for a less frilly appearance, though Khloe is more traditional.

Kate, Jack, Luke, & Clea: has three sounds (Iā€™m hearing kuh-lee-ah / kuh-lay-ah, but it could be kuh-l-ee-ah). Iā€™d suggest Klea, but Clea is more traditional and looks fine written out. Itā€™s definitely not modern or frilly.

Kate, Jack, Luke, & Kaya: not totally traditional but feels like it could be a classic. Super feminine, a bit different from Kate, Jack and Luke, though she somehow fits in with them. Three sounds (kuh-ai-yah).

Kate, Jack, Luke & Kim: Iā€™m hearing two sounds (kih-m, but it could be kuh-ih-m). I personally donā€™t like that itā€™s only three letters while her siblings each have four, but she sounds nicely with them. I didnā€™t purposefully suggest Kardashian-related names but if you can set that association aside, Kim could work with your other kids. Short and sweet, simple, and not too weak.

I like a previous posterā€™s suggestion Brooke. Very pretty!

Good luck!!
