HELP!

Please be nice in responses

I am having a boy [name_u]December[/name_u] 3 and am having so much trouble deciding on a first name. We are pretty certain of the middle name, [name_m]Bartlett[/name_m] (as it’s a family name) and the last, [name_m]Brown[/name_m], (for obvious reasons) but not the first.

As of last week, we really really liked [name_m]Benedict[/name_m] [name_m]Bartlett[/name_m] [name_m]Brown[/name_m] but upon telling my mother in law, she informed of us the infamous [name_m]Benedict[/name_m] [name_m]Arnold[/name_m]. :frowning: …([name_m]Benedict[/name_m] actually has a Latin meaning of “blessing” which is why we chose it).

Some other first name options we had considered were [name_m]William[/name_m] and [name_u]James[/name_u].

Or…if blessed with a second son, we had wanted to name him [name_m]Robert[/name_m] [name_m]Livingston[/name_m] [name_m]Brown[/name_m]…so should we just go with this name instead?

Oh what to do!!?

I think it would be fine to use [name_m]Benedict[/name_m]. Far more people are going to think of a famous actor rather than [name_m]Benedict[/name_m] [name_m]Arnold[/name_m]. Still, I do think using [name_m]William[/name_m] or [name_u]James[/name_u] would give his whole name a much better flow. Personally I prefer [name_u]James[/name_u], so I would recommend using that. But I think [name_m]William[/name_m] and [name_m]Robert[/name_m] would go together better as siblings.

While [name_m]Benedict[/name_m] and [name_m]Bartlett[/name_m] are nice, maybe not together. [name_m]Benedict[/name_m] [name_m]Bartlett[/name_m] [name_m]Brown[/name_m] is a lot of the letter B for one name. [name_m]Benedict[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m] or [name_m]Benedict[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] might flow better. Or maybe even [name_m]Benedict[/name_m] [name_m]Livingston[/name_m] for baby number one, and for the next boy could be [name_m]Robert[/name_m] [name_m]Bartlett[/name_m] [name_m]Brown[/name_m].

I love your taste! [name_m]Bartlett[/name_m] is actually a nice name. Would you consider using it as a first with [name_m]Bart[/name_m] as a nickname? otherwise, [name_m]Robert[/name_m] [name_m]Livingston[/name_m] [name_m]Brown[/name_m] is so elegant and classic. I think it’s a great choice.

Here are some suggestions to pair with [name_m]Bartlett[/name_m]:
[name_m]Bryan[/name_m]
[name_m]Thayer[/name_m]
[name_m]Griffin[/name_m]
[name_u]Spencer[/name_u]
[name_m]Warren[/name_m]
[name_m]Cedric[/name_m]
[name_m]Gerard[/name_m] “[name_u]Gerry[/name_u]”
[name_m]Harrison[/name_m]
[name_m]Bryson[/name_m]

What an elegant naming style you have

All great suggestions above and I dont think you will go wrong with any of your choices. My thought was that a shorter first name might be nice with [name_m]Bartlett[/name_m] in the middle; perhaps [name_m]David[/name_m] [name_m]Bartlett[/name_m] [name_m]Brown[/name_m].

[name_m]David[/name_m] means ‘beloved’, a meaning similar to what you liked about [name_m]Benedict[/name_m].

Best wishes with your search
