Help - need nicknames for Paradice

We have a new (amazing) foster daughter who’s name is [name_f]Paradice[/name_f]. It looks like her case will be either a long term or maybe even go to adoption! We are not fans of her given name and since she is going to be here for a long time (and hopefully forever) we would like to find some great nickname options.

So any ideas for nicknames derived from [name_f]Paradice[/name_f]? If not, any ideas for generic nicknames that work for any little girl?

Thanks so much!!

[name_f]Pari[/name_f]/[name_u]Peri[/name_u]
[name_m]Rad[/name_m]
Dizzy (take off of -dice syllable)

What about [name_u]Dai[/name_u] (not quite sure how one would spell it)? as in princess [name_f]Diana[/name_f]'s nickname ([name_f]ParaDIce[/name_f])

I second [name_u]Peri[/name_u] and [name_f]Di[/name_f]. Congrats on hopefully finding a new family member!

[name_u]Adi[/name_u]?
congratulations

Dicey, like the girl in the book Dicey’s Song.

Congratulations! I like [name_u]Perry[/name_u] the most for her - whichever spelling you think is best. If you want to go a little farther from her given name, I think that [name_f]Posy[/name_f] or even [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] can work for a lot of P names, even if they aren’t close to the actual name. [name_f]Addie[/name_f] is a stretch, but there is that -ad in the middle of the name. [name_m]Even[/name_m] [name_f]Patty[/name_f] might do - [name_u]Paddy[/name_u] makes more sense with the D in [name_f]Paradice[/name_f] but it feels so boyish.

Congratulations!

I think these could work:
[name_f]Pari[/name_f]
[name_f]Cece[/name_f]
[name_u]Ara[/name_u]
[name_u]Ari[/name_u]
[name_f]Pacey[/name_f]
[name_f]Pia[/name_f]
[name_f]Pixie[/name_f] (maybe as a cutesy nn at home)
Parice
[name_f]Didi[/name_f]

[name_f]Pari[/name_f] or [name_f]Addie[/name_f].

[name_f]Aria[/name_f]
[name_f]Cecily[/name_f]
[name_f]Di[/name_f]

Thats really good news! Congrats to all of you!

I love the suggestions of [name_f]Perri[/name_f] (what ever spelling you like) but it has been a huge girl’s nickname crush of mine for years.

Of course, you could use [name_m]Pip/name_m, [name_f]Posey[/name_f], [name_f]Pixie[/name_f], [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] or any P nickname. Or you could just give her an endearment name - [name_u]Sunny[/name_u], [name_f]Dolly[/name_f], Kitten…

[name_f]Pacey[/name_f], [name_m]Parry[/name_m], or Dicey. That said, you might want to discuss with the child’s social worker or CASA whether a nickname would be appropriate.

Dicey
[name_f]Posey[/name_f]
[name_f]Poppy[/name_f]

how old is she? old enough to voice her opinion?
[name_f]Do[/name_f] you know/ does she have a middle name?

also
[name_f]Pippa[/name_f]

[name_f]Pari[/name_f], or [name_f]Perri[/name_f]
Deese (Rhymes with [name_u]Reese[/name_u])
Rary
Dicey
[name_u]Ari[/name_u]

These are a little bit of a stretch, but could work:
[name_u]Rory[/name_u]
[name_f]Addie[/name_f]
[name_f]Poppy[/name_f]
[name_f]Pippa[/name_f]

I hope this helps! And congratulations:grin:!!

[name_m]How[/name_m] old is she? Depending on her age, she might have a say on what she likes to be called.

[name_m]Pip[/name_m], [name_f]Pippa[/name_f], [name_f]Daisy[/name_f], [name_f]Dixie[/name_f] are my suggestions.

[name_f]Paradice[/name_f], nn: Sweet Pea {or} Sweet P.
