[name_m]Hi[/name_m] All,
Yikes, I am getting a bit crazy! We keep landing on names and then we find something wrong with them. We are expecting our second daughter two weeks from today and certainly did not have this much trouble with the first. Please help me clear my mind, maybe with some new suggestions or reassurance for some of our original likes.
My daughter is [name_f]Susanna[/name_f]. She is often “[name_f]Zuzu[/name_f].” We like the history of the name, meaning and unpopularity. I am not as concerned with popularity this time around, but don’t want an [name_f]Isabella[/name_f], [name_f]Sophia[/name_f], [name_f]Olivia[/name_f], etc.
Up until yesterday, we were settled on [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Isabel[/name_f]. [name_f]Margot[/name_f] is one of my favorite names and honors a [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f]. [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] honors my grandmother [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. However, I have one [name_f]Margo[/name_f] in my life that I cannot get out of my head, and it is not a good connotation. I can’t seem to separate the thoughts of that person from my baby daughter. [name_m]Hence[/name_m], we need to move on…which is sad!
I would still like to honor [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] in either the first or middle spot. Also, the meaning of the name is important to me…I like names with water meanings or “strength, peace, flower meanings, etc…” really anything positive…
Other names we have considered:
[name_f]Willa[/name_f] (husband thinks this is not complete enough, and I don’t love [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f])
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] (still a contender)
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] (still a contender, but I can’t get over the feeling it is boring)
[name_f]Paloma[/name_f] (still a contender, though something is keeping me from committing)
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] (husband does not like this one because of “Friends”)
[name_f]Marin[/name_f] (too matchy with last name)
[name_f]Marina[/name_f] (eh…)
[name_f]Mae[/name_f] (husband thinks this is too short)
[name_f]Marguerite[/name_f] (decided I don’t want to directly honor this person)
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_f]Claire[/name_f], [name_f]Clara[/name_f] all sound awful with my last name, FYI. Any other ideas?
Please help!
Best,
[name_f]Annie[/name_f]
