Help needed! Due in 2 weeks and keep finding things wrong with our names.

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] All,

Yikes, I am getting a bit crazy! We keep landing on names and then we find something wrong with them. We are expecting our second daughter two weeks from today and certainly did not have this much trouble with the first. Please help me clear my mind, maybe with some new suggestions or reassurance for some of our original likes.

My daughter is [name_f]Susanna[/name_f]. She is often “[name_f]Zuzu[/name_f].” We like the history of the name, meaning and unpopularity. I am not as concerned with popularity this time around, but don’t want an [name_f]Isabella[/name_f], [name_f]Sophia[/name_f], [name_f]Olivia[/name_f], etc.

Up until yesterday, we were settled on [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Isabel[/name_f]. [name_f]Margot[/name_f] is one of my favorite names and honors a [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f]. [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] honors my grandmother [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. However, I have one [name_f]Margo[/name_f] in my life that I cannot get out of my head, and it is not a good connotation. I can’t seem to separate the thoughts of that person from my baby daughter. [name_m]Hence[/name_m], we need to move on…which is sad!

I would still like to honor [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] in either the first or middle spot. Also, the meaning of the name is important to me…I like names with water meanings or “strength, peace, flower meanings, etc…” really anything positive…

Other names we have considered:

[name_f]Willa[/name_f] (husband thinks this is not complete enough, and I don’t love [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f])
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] (still a contender)
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] (still a contender, but I can’t get over the feeling it is boring)
[name_f]Paloma[/name_f] (still a contender, though something is keeping me from committing)
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] (husband does not like this one because of “Friends”)
[name_f]Marin[/name_f] (too matchy with last name)
[name_f]Marina[/name_f] (eh…)
[name_f]Mae[/name_f] (husband thinks this is too short)
[name_f]Marguerite[/name_f] (decided I don’t want to directly honor this person)

[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_f]Claire[/name_f], [name_f]Clara[/name_f] all sound awful with my last name, FYI. Any other ideas?

Please help!

Best,

[name_f]Annie[/name_f]

[name_f]Susanna[/name_f] and …

[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] [name_f]Libby[/name_f] = [name_f]Zuzu[/name_f] and [name_f]Bea[/name_f]
[name_f]Florence[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] = [name_f]Zuzu[/name_f] and [name_f]Flossie[/name_f] or [name_f]Zuzu[/name_f] and [name_f]Flo[/name_f]
[name_f]Frances[/name_f] [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] = [name_f]Zuzu[/name_f] and [name_u]Fran[/name_u], [name_f]Zuzu[/name_f] and [name_f]Cissy[/name_f], or [name_f]Zuzu[/name_f] and [name_f]Fanny[/name_f]

More ideas came right after I pressed send:
[name_f]Susanna[/name_f] and
[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] = [name_f]Zuzu[/name_f] and [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]
[name_f]Heidi[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] or [name_f]Heidi[/name_f] [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] = [name_f]Zuzu[/name_f] and [name_f]Heidi[/name_f]
[name_f]Dorae[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] = [name_f]Zuzu[/name_f] and Dodi
[name_f]Zoe[/name_f] [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] = [name_f]Zuzu[/name_f] and [name_f]Zoe[/name_f]

Well… [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is “boring” so what about [name_f]Elsbeth[/name_f]? The meaning is the same, but the sound is completely different.
[name_f]Marina[/name_f] is a pretty common name in [name_m]Brasil[/name_m] (note the “S”), whoever there is this book, [name_u]Red[/name_u] [name_f]Queen[/name_f], where the protagonist it’s called [name_f]Mareena[/name_f]. Cool spelling and nicer pronounce (I think…).
[name_u]Marian[/name_u], [name_u]Marion[/name_u] are nice, through both mean “bitter”.
Instead of [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f], you could use [name_f]Margreth[/name_f] or Marguerie or even [name_f]Marjorie[/name_f].
But [name_f]Paloma[/name_f] still wins! It’s an awesome name and you, two, should totally give it to your daughter!

Maybe when she is born you will forget the connotations of the person you know and only think of your baby as [name_f]Margot[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] is lovely.

[name_f]Do[/name_f] you like [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]? Sussanah [name_u]Lake[/name_u] and [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] [name_f]Margot[/name_f]?

I love both [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] and [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f] with [name_f]Susannah[/name_f]!

[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Susanna[/name_f] and [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]!

[name_f]Susannah[/name_f] and…

[name_f]Frances[/name_f]
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]
[name_f]Penelope[/name_f]
[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]
[name_f]Appoline[/name_f]
[name_f]Daphne[/name_f]
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f]
[name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Ivy[/name_f]
[name_f]Georgia[/name_f]
[name_f]Harriet[/name_f]
[name_f]Juliet[/name_f]
[name_f]Lavender[/name_f]
[name_f]Magdalene[/name_f]
[name_f]Philippa[/name_f]
[name_f]Pomeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Temperance[/name_f]
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]

I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Isabel[/name_f]. My favorite name is [name_f]Miriam[/name_f] [name_f]Isobel[/name_f], so I get the appeal.
[name_m]How[/name_m] about using [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] as a middle to honour [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f] (meaning: daisy)? It would be nice after lake.

[name_f]Paloma[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] [name_f]Isabel[/name_f]
[name_f]Paloma[/name_f] [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] [name_f]Margot[/name_f]
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]

susanna and paloma (zuzu and lola)
susanna and eliza (zuzu and lily)

[name_f]Greta[/name_f] and [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] are options to honor [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f]

[name_f]Isobelle[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] ([name_f]Isobelle[/name_f] is the german variation of [name_f]Isabel[/name_f])
[name_f]Pearl[/name_f] [name_f]Isobelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Greta[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabella[/name_f]
[name_f]Greta[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f]

I love [name_f]Eliza[/name_f]! It’s a beautiful name and a great honor name for [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f].

I love [name_f]Eliza[/name_f], [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and [name_f]Marina[/name_f]! I also love [name_f]Isabel[/name_f]!

Have you considered [name_f]Elizabelle[/name_f]?
Since your daughter has a nature middle name, maybe [name_u]River[/name_u] or [name_u]Skye[/name_u] or [name_u]Skylar[/name_u] as a middle name?
What about [name_f]Margaret[/name_f], [name_u]Marley[/name_u]?
[name_f]Willow[/name_f] instead of [name_f]Willa[/name_f]?

[name_f]Laurel[/name_f] (I love the meaning, and that the first letter “L” is repeated later on, like the “S” in [name_f]Susanna[/name_f].)
[name_f]Naomi[/name_f]
[name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] (a less popular Biblical name like [name_f]Susanna[/name_f], with a bit of magic, I think.)
[name_f]Miranda[/name_f]
[name_f]Margaret[/name_f]
[name_f]Judith[/name_f] ([name_f]Zuzu[/name_f] and [name_f]Judee[/name_f] would be cute together, imo!)
[name_f]Elizabella[/name_f]
[name_f]Elisabet[/name_f]
[name_f]Helena[/name_f]
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f]
[name_f]Martha[/name_f] (I think this would be pretty with [name_f]Susanna[/name_f])
[name_f]Marsha[/name_f] (prettier, perhaps)
[name_f]Lorelei[/name_f]
[name_f]Morgana[/name_f]
[name_f]Isobel[/name_f]
[name_f]Elaine[/name_f] (can be used to honour [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f])

Some combos off the top of my head, just for fun:

[name_f]Susanna[/name_f] [name_u]Lake[/name_u] and [name_f]Laurel[/name_f] [name_u]Dove[/name_u]
[name_f]Susanna[/name_f] [name_u]Lake[/name_u] and [name_f]Naomi[/name_f] [name_f]Ysabel[/name_f]
[name_f]Susanna[/name_f] [name_u]Lake[/name_u] and [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] [name_f]Meadow[/name_f]
[name_f]Susanna[/name_f] [name_u]Lake[/name_u] and [name_f]Miranda[/name_f] [name_f]Isobel[/name_f]
[name_f]Susanna[/name_f] [name_u]Lake[/name_u] and [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f]
[name_f]Susanna[/name_f] [name_u]Lake[/name_u] and [name_f]Judith[/name_f] [name_f]Laurel[/name_f]
[name_f]Susanna[/name_f] [name_u]Lake[/name_u] and [name_f]Elisabet[/name_f] [name_f]Marsha[/name_f]
[name_f]Susanna[/name_f] [name_u]Lake[/name_u] and [name_f]Helena[/name_f] [name_u]Dove[/name_u]
[name_f]Susanna[/name_f] [name_u]Lake[/name_u] and [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_u]Bay[/name_u]
[name_f]Susanna[/name_f] [name_u]Lake[/name_u] and [name_f]Martha[/name_f] [name_f]Laurel[/name_f]
[name_f]Susanna[/name_f] [name_u]Lake[/name_u] and [name_f]Marsha[/name_f] [name_f]Meadow[/name_f]
[name_f]Susanna[/name_f] [name_u]Lake[/name_u] and [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f] [name_u]Bay[/name_u]
[name_f]Susanna[/name_f] [name_u]Lake[/name_u] and [name_f]Morgana[/name_f] [name_f]Belle[/name_f]
[name_f]Susanna[/name_f] [name_u]Lake[/name_u] and [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] [name_u]Vesper[/name_u]
[name_f]Susanna[/name_f] [name_u]Lake[/name_u] and [name_f]Elaine[/name_f] [name_u]Sky[/name_u]

Wow, I love this suggestion of [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] in the middle! It would be a fantastic follow-up to [name_u]Lake[/name_u] as a middle, but also honors a [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f].

[name_m]Just[/name_m] a few combos:

[name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] - not sure how this works with the ln
[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] - Borrowing this from your list. I don’t think [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] is incomplete at all.
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]
[name_f]Lisette[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] / [name_f]Liesel[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] - variations of [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]
[name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]

What about [name_f]Margot[/name_f] in the middle? [name_f]Lisette[/name_f] [name_f]Margot[/name_f], [name_f]Elisa[/name_f] [name_f]Margot[/name_f], something like that?
[name_f]Virginia[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]

I think you should stick with [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Isabel[/name_f]. Once you’re daughter is born you’ll completely forget about that other person. Your daughter is going to be such a great person and the bad connection will completely fade away once you see how amazing your daughter is. The good will out way the bad in my opinion, so I would keep it [name_f]Margot[/name_f].

I agree with previous posters: [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] is the name you’re looking for. The second you see your daughter, she’ll become the only [name_f]Margot[/name_f] in the world to you.

I agree with pp’s that you should choose [name_f]Margot[/name_f]!

I vote for [name_f]Eliza[/name_f]

And here are some longer “mae” names:

[name_f]Maelys[/name_f]
[name_f]Maeby[/name_f]
[name_f]Maelle[/name_f]
Maelynn
Maisie
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f]
Maeline

I think [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] is beautiful.

Instead of [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f]/[name_f]Mae[/name_f]/[name_f]Margot[/name_f]: [name_f]Maisie[/name_f], [name_f]Mamie[/name_f], [name_f]Margaret[/name_f], [name_f]Marjorie[/name_f]/[name_f]Margery[/name_f]
Instead of [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f]/[name_f]Willa[/name_f]: [name_f]Willow[/name_f]
Instead of [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]/[name_f]Eliza[/name_f]: [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Elise[/name_f], [name_f]Elspeth[/name_f]

[name_f]Paloma[/name_f] is gorgeous.

Hmm…

[name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Margretta[/name_f]

I do like the suggestion of [name_u]Marian[/name_u]. I know one [name_u]Marian[/name_u] close in age to me and always liked the name. [name_u]Marian[/name_u] [name_f]Isabel[/name_f].
