We have a shortlist of boys names but can’t make a decision between them. We’re particularly keen to gauge opinion on the more unusual two names. Our list is:
Oryn - we both love this but is it too unusual? It seems to be a very rare name. Would pronounce [name_m]Orrin[/name_m]
[name_u]Jory[/name_u]
[name_u]Rory[/name_u]
[name_u]Aiden[/name_u]
Any thoughts? Our surname starts with a T so all should work.
I adore [name_u]Rory[/name_u]. Second favorite would be [name_u]Aidan[/name_u] (this spelling). I would spell [name_m]Orrin[/name_m] this way. I feel neutral about [name_u]Jory[/name_u].
I like [name_u]Rory[/name_u], then [name_u]Aiden[/name_u] and am just OK about [name_m]Orrin[/name_m] (Oryn) and not keen on [name_u]Jory[/name_u] (not turned off, just doesn’t appeal).
My favourite is [name_u]Rory[/name_u] followed by Oryn, and I don’t think it is too unusual at all. [name_u]Aiden[/name_u] has been much to popular for my taste and is getting to feel a bit dated. I haven’t heard [name_u]Jory[/name_u] before but I like it.
Oryn - I think it’s very unique and easy to pronounce. I actually have this on my shortlist but would spell it [name_m]Oren[/name_m].
[name_u]Jory[/name_u] - even though it’s only one letter away from [name_u]Rory[/name_u], it sounds too close to gory for me.
[name_u]Rory[/name_u] - Nice familiar name that isn’t very popular. It sounds more like a nickname to me but I like it!
[name_u]Aiden[/name_u] - Very, very popular name. I think you’d have to absolutely love this name or have some sort of family connection with it to use it. You will most likely run into lots of little boys with this name. [name_m]Adrian[/name_m] is a less popular option.
