I need some nickname help… Please 
We are considering the name [name]Mathis[/name] and are big on nicknames. For the life of us we cannot come up with one for [name]Mathis[/name] and we don’t like the nn’s [name]Matt[/name]/[name]Matty[/name]/etc. Anyone have any suggestions???

About 2 years ago I made a post about ‘alternative’ international nicknames.
Here were nicknames for the international equivalents of “[name]Matthew[/name]”:
[name]Mads[/name] – Danish
[name]Mats[/name] – Scandinavian
Ties – Dutch
I like the suggestion of [name]Mads[/name]
I had a friend named [name]Matthew[/name] who went by Mato, and another friend named [name]Matthias[/name] who went by Tas, a bit of a stretch for [name]Matthis[/name] but I think it could still work. Of course you could go completely off the charts and nickname him something like ace, scout, lucky etc. it doesn’t always have to be tied to the proper name. Actually you could almost get the nn [name]Ace[/name] out of [name]Matthis[/name].
These are all a stretch by [name]Theo[/name], [name]Ty[/name], and [name]Max[/name] all seem like they capture something if you can tell a story to go along with it (if anyone ever asks…not that I think that comes up too often).
First thing I thought of was [name]Theo[/name]!
