[name_m]Hi[/name_m], looking for some opinions. My husband lost a family member when she was 16 (many years ago) due to a tragic accident. He was close to her. It means everything to him to honor her by giving our baby girl her name (for middle name). Her name was [name_f]Concetta[/name_f]. We are settled on [name_f]Nora[/name_f] for first name. I just think it sounds awful together. Like I said, this means so much to him. Honest opinions? Thanks!!
I agree with you that it doesn’t sound the best, but it’s really important to your husband to honor that person, so that trumps sound any day. IF it really bothers you, perhaps a short second middle name to separate [name_f]Nora[/name_f] and [name_f]Concetta[/name_f]? That would help the sound a bit.
I was thinking of that…but do people do that? Three names?
What about [name_u]Kaye[/name_u]?
[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Concetta[/name_f] with the nickname [name_f]Nora[/name_f]? Better flow, I think. Putting in a first middle name and making [name_f]Concetta[/name_f] the second one could also work. Good luck!
Thoughts on [name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_u]Kaye[/name_u] [name_f]Concetta[/name_f]?
Anyone else?
I think [name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Concetta[/name_f] works, especially with the meaning behind it.
I am not a huge fan of [name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_u]Kay[/name_u] [name_f]Concetta[/name_f] because the [name_u]Kay[/name_u] [name_u]Con[/name_u]- sounds repetitive. Hopefully that makes sense… it’s the repeated consonant. Pretty names though! Here are a few more double middle combo ideas ~
[name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] [name_f]Concetta[/name_f]
[name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_f]Concetta[/name_f]
[name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Jade[/name_f] [name_f]Concetta[/name_f]
[name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Belle[/name_f] [name_f]Concetta[/name_f]
[name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u] [name_f]Concetta[/name_f]
[name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] [name_f]Concetta[/name_f]
[name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Hope[/name_f] [name_f]Concetta[/name_f]
[name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Joy[/name_f] [name_f]Concetta[/name_f]
[name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Elle[/name_f] [name_f]Concetta[/name_f]
[name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Concetta[/name_f]
Thank you!
Anyone else??
I second “[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Concetta[/name_f], nn [name_f]Nora[/name_f],” or [name_f]Mae[/name_f] or [name_f]Fae[/name_f] as alternatives to [name_u]Kaye[/name_u] as the middle middle. [name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] [name_f]Concetta[/name_f], [name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Fae[/name_f] [name_f]Concetta[/name_f], or [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Concetta[/name_f] all sound better to my ear than [name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Concetta[/name_f] or [name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_u]Kaye[/name_u] [name_f]Concetta[/name_f]. Is your full name [name_f]Katherine[/name_f]? I think [name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] [name_f]Concetta[/name_f] is lovely.
For me the problem isn’t so much the flow as that [name_f]Concetta[/name_f] sounds very Italian/Latin and [name_f]Nora[/name_f] is a different style. I think you could add a second middle to break the two up a bit, or consider something other than [name_f]Nora[/name_f]. I do like [name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] [name_f]Concetta[/name_f] from pp.
[name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Aveline[/name_f] [name_f]Concetta[/name_f]
[name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] [name_f]Concetta[/name_f]
[name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Gabrielle[/name_f] [name_f]Concetta[/name_f]
[name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Irene[/name_f] [name_f]Concetta[/name_f]
[name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_f]Concetta[/name_f]
[name_f]Leonora[/name_f] [name_f]Concetta[/name_f] nn [name_f]Nora[/name_f]
[name_f]Adele[/name_f] [name_f]Concetta[/name_f]
[name_f]Juliana[/name_f] [name_f]Concetta[/name_f]
[name_f]Lena[/name_f] [name_f]Concetta[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Concetta[/name_f]
[name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Concetta[/name_f]
I think the suggestion of [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Concetta[/name_f] nn [name_f]Nora[/name_f] is perfect! I also agree with some of the previous posters that [name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_u]Kay[/name_u] [name_f]Concetta[/name_f] sounds a little heavy with the hard C/K sounds. But I think [name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] [name_f]Concetta[/name_f] is a lovely suggestion.
[name_f]Concetta[/name_f] / Concepta is a very catholic name. I live in [name_f]Ireland[/name_f] and [name_f]Nora[/name_f] Concepta would be a normal enough combination amongst old ladies!
However [name_f]Nora[/name_f] would be a diminutive of Hanora or [name_f]Honora[/name_f]
[name_f]Honora[/name_f] [name_f]Concetta[/name_f] works well.
Otherwise would you consider calling your child [name_u]Connie[/name_u]? I think it’s cute and it’s a diminutive of [name_f]Concetta[/name_f].
Either way, nobody really ever uses their middle name so it doesn’t make much difference. The fact that the name means a lot is far more important.
