I have 2 daughters [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] and [name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Susana[/name_f]. [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] goes by both [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Millie[/name_f]. Both middle names are very special to my husband and I as they are people who have passed away that we were close to.
We are going to try to get pregnant soon so I of course am thinking of names! If it’s a boy we love [name_m]Miles[/name_m] and [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m].
My husband’s family speaks Spanish and he grew up speaking Spanish. Our [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] is called [name_m]Ah[/name_m]-[name_u]MEL[/name_u]-ee-ah by our Spanish speaking family and with [name_f]Nora[/name_f] they roll the r. I think they sound beautiful both ways so it makes me love them even more.
Girls we cannot agree on barely anything!
Both like:
[name_f]Lucia[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] nn [name_f]Rosie[/name_f]
I love:
[name_f]Hannah[/name_f]
[name_f]Hazel[/name_f]
[name_u]Eloise[/name_u]
Husband has suggested:
[name_f]Sarah[/name_f]
[name_u]Vida[/name_u]
Any suggestions that go well with [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] ([name_f]Millie[/name_f]) and [name_f]Nora[/name_f]. I think we both are starting to love [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] but we have a close friend with a [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lucy[/name_f].
[name_f]Lucia[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] is gorgeous!!! you could call her [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] and your in-laws could call her [name_f]Rosa[/name_f]! Unless you had another honor name for the middle again?
[name_f]Luciana[/name_f] nn [name_f]Ana[/name_f] is another option!
Or [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] nn [name_f]Celia[/name_f]
Or just [name_f]Celia[/name_f]
Or go with [name_f]Eloisa[/name_f] nn [name_u]Eloise[/name_u]/[name_f]Ellie[/name_f]
Personally I don’t think [name_u]Vida[/name_u] goes well as a first with [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] & [name_f]Nora[/name_f], and I think the ones you already agree on are great! But again, they’d be beautiful middles as well!
Also I think [name_m]Miles[/name_m] [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] is a good match to your girls’ names if you paired them together as first and middle! In-laws could call him [name_m]Milo[/name_m]. Or I had a Mexican-American boss once who named her son a name I can’t remember how to spell (Eleionai?) and used the nickname Nai (if that’s not a stretch for you from [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m])!
(My husband’s family is from South [name_u]America[/name_u] so I’m always on the lookout for Spanish nicknames that I’d like to use someday!)
I love [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] and [name_u]Eloise[/name_u]! [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] nn [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] is also really like, and it’s probably my favourite next to [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Nora[/name_f]. [name_f]Millie[/name_f], [name_f]Nora[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] is adorable. [name_f]Hannah[/name_f], [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] and [name_u]Vida[/name_u] are also lovely names that work week with [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Nora[/name_f]. Considering that [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] is a very popular name, [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] would be fine even if you know a [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]. But if you’re really worried about it, [name_f]Lulu[/name_f] and [name_u]Lou[/name_u] could be other great nickname options.
Other suggestions:
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] nn [name_f]Cora[/name_f]
[name_f]Cora[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] nn [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]/[name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] nn [name_f]Bea[/name_f]
[name_f]Georgia[/name_f] nn [name_u]Georgie[/name_u]
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] nn [name_f]Tillie[/name_f]/[name_f]Tilly[/name_f]
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] or [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] nn [name_f]Vivi[/name_f]
[name_f]Olivia[/name_f] nn [name_f]Liv[/name_f] or [name_f]Livvy[/name_f]
If you’re both starting to love [name_f]Lucia[/name_f], then I reckon go with it. [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] is gorgeous. Yes it’s a similar name to your friend’s little girl… but similar names come up all the time. You’ll find a way around it when they’re together.
Otherwise, I second the suggestion of [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f]… similar sounds to [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] and goes great with [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Nora[/name_f].
I love both [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f], but for you I think [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] wins! The close friend association will dissipate soon after the child is born, so I wouldn’t worry about that too much. [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] is a great option though, and makes a great backup in case she doesn’t come out looking like a [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] :). Both go well with your other girls’ names! [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] would be a fabulous combo.
Another vote for [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]. It’s so beautiful (with an American or Spanish accent). [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] is similar and I like both the American lu-WEEZ-uh and Spanish lu-EES-uh pronunciations.
[name_m]Miles[/name_m] [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] (or [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] [name_m]Miles[/name_m]) is a great combo. [name_m]Miles[/name_m] wouldn’t translate to Spanish so well, so I might go with [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] [name_m]Miles[/name_m] if you spend a ton of time with that side of the family. But he could just be “mijo” among family.
I think both [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] and [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] both go so well with [name_f]Nora[/name_f] and [name_f]Amelia[/name_f].
I would suggest [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] and perhaps [name_f]Valeria[/name_f], but I think [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] (or [name_f]Rosalia[/name_f]) is better than both.
Yes! I love [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] with your older girls. I also think [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] is a great recommendation as well.
I have a sweet spot for [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] but I kind of like the idea of all of your girls names ending in a, so that bumps [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] ahead for me.
I also agree with this about the ‘a’ ending for your girls! I only gave a couple suggestions for names that don’t end in ‘a’ because once something looks like a pattern to me I hate to break it! Patterns are wonderful
Thanks everyone!! Loving all your advice and suggestions. I love the nickname [name_u]Lou[/name_u] or [name_f]Lulu[/name_f] as well so I have a spot for [name_f]Louise[/name_f] or [name_u]Eloise[/name_u]. My husband not so much…
I think [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] are definitely our top contenders. Now to talk about middle names. Both our other girls’ middle names are very special to us so we feel like our next child should have a special middle name as well.
