We’ve just recently found the sex of our baby, and he is indeed a boy. We’ve been looking at names and have a pretty spuratic list. We know we like classic names for both genders but there are some that are off limits- [name]James[/name], [name]Noah[/name], and [name]Jonah[/name].
So, here’s our list:
[name]Aiden[/name]
[name]Caleb[/name]
[name]Charles[/name]- [name]Charlie[/name]
[name]Elijah[/name]- [name]Eli[/name]
[name]Finn[/name]
[name]Harrison[/name]- [name]Harris[/name], [name]Harry[/name]
[name]Jack[/name]- We like [name]Jackson[/name] as well, but feel like it is just a trend passing and would probably call him [name]Jack[/name], anyway.
[name]William[/name]- [name]Will[/name]
[name]Nicholas[/name]- [name]Nick[/name]
[name]Samuel[/name]- [name]Sam[/name]
[name]Wesley[/name]- [name]Wes[/name]
If you couldn’t tell, we’re drawn to classic names that can easily turn to nicknames. As for middle names, we’re leaning toward [name]Lee[/name], [name]Scott[/name], and [name]Joseph[/name]. We live in [name]America[/name], so any names we use need to be easily pronounced in English.
[name]Finn[/name] - This name is handsome and I love the simplicity of it
[name]Aiden[/name] - I know this name is popular, but I can’t help but love it! And the meaning of little and fiery is awesome imo.
[name]Jack[/name] - Simple, masculine, and handsome. Nobody will ever mispronounce this name, plus this name grows well with a child.
[name]Wesley[/name] - love this name, reminds me of the [name]Princess[/name] [name]Bride[/name], plus nn [name]Wes[/name] is pretty cool
Elijiah with nn [name]Eli[/name] - [name]Eli[/name] is one of my favorite boy names, so obviously this one is great (well, to me anyways)
[name]Harrison[/name] - I like that you could use the nn [name]Harry[/name], plus [name]Harrison[/name] has a regal feel to it
You have an awesome list of names here! I know you said popularity doesn’t really bother you as long as you love the name, but keep in mind that your son might care. He will not be known simply as [name]Aiden[/name] ever. He will always be referred to as [name]Aiden[/name] and his last initial or perhaps his entire first and last name if there’s more than one [name]Aiden[/name] with the same last initial. As someone who has a very popular name and had to grow up being called by my first and last name, it’s very annoying. So I suggest taking that into consideration if you want to use a super popular name because it’ll be something HE’LL have to deal with for the rest of his life, not you because he’ll always just be YOUR [name]Aiden[/name]. I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Jack[/name] and [name]Caleb[/name] too, but I’d be concerned about their popularity too, depending on where you live.
[name]Finn[/name], [name]Wesley[/name] ([name]Wes[/name] is such a cool nickname) and [name]Harrison[/name] (nn [name]Harry[/name]) are all wonderful. I love [name]Eli[/name] but not overly fond of [name]Elijah[/name]. I prefer [name]Elliot[/name] or [name]Elias[/name] as the full name for nickname [name]Eli[/name], but that’s just me.
I really think you’ve got a great list of names and don’t need any “help,” but here’s some other ideas:
[name]Grant[/name]
[name]Lucas[/name] (nn [name]Luke[/name])
[name]Gavin[/name]
[name]Owen[/name]
[name]Landon[/name]
[name]John[/name] (nn [name]Jack[/name])
[name]Zachary[/name] (nn [name]Zach[/name])
Suggested combos:
[name]Harrison[/name] [name]Lee[/name]
[name]Wesley[/name] [name]Scott[/name]
[name]Finn[/name] [name]Joseph[/name]
[name]Jack[/name] [name]Joseph[/name] (JJ would be another cool nickname)
[name]Elijah[/name] [name]Scott[/name]
