So our last name is Mission, as in Mission Impossible.
My husband and I have started to think of baby names and it has been so hard to agree on anything. The last name Mission is definitely an interesting one and when you put the names together it always sounds so goofy.
I love the name [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] for a girl, nickname [name_f]Trixie[/name_f] I think it is adorable. But when you say [name_f]Trixie[/name_f] Mission it almost sounds like a stripper name or something.
I’m open to hearing names for both genders since we don’t even know what the little nugget is yet.
Oh, I love [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]. If you’re worried about it sounding “too stripper” (and I can hear what you mean…sort of), maybe you could save it for the middle?
Wow! Someone else who likes [name_f]Trixie[/name_f]! I don’t see the stripper name issue, maybe because I have a really good association with it, but so many others seem to. I think once people meet an adorable little girl, or a bubbly woman who goes by [name_f]Trixie[/name_f] the stripper image is easily forgotten.
In terms of [name_f]Trixie[/name_f] and your surname, I’d assume written down and on applications etc. she’d cam use her full name, [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f], rather than [name_f]Trixie[/name_f], so that shouldn’t cause a problem. Maybe you could keep [name_f]Trixie[/name_f] as a verbal nn. I absolutely adore [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] as well as [name_f]Trixie[/name_f], if you can’t tell, so I think you’re onto a winner. But I’d also suggest:
I like your last name. I wouldn’t use an o ending name because then it sounds like omission. eg [name_u]Theo[/name_u] = The omission. Actually e ending names like [name_f]Trixie[/name_f] create emission (tricks emission?), which is not a deal breaker necessarily but something to pay attention to maybe. [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] Mission has permission in there and [name_f]Leona[/name_f] or [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] or [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] create ‘on a mission,’ but I actually think those are pretty cute! Maybe more important are the initials… ie, avoiding O/E first names so you don’t get O. Mission/E. Mission. Though again, not a deal breaker.
I would still use [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]. [name_m]Just[/name_m] use her full name. Use [name_f]Trixie[/name_f] as a pet name for just the family. Bits names based on [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]:
