Help Picking Girl Name- Due in Less than 2 weeks!

My husband and I are due with our first child later this month. Not knowing the sex has been making it harder to narrow down names. Last name is one syllable and starts with W.

We have been tossing around a few names/combos:

[name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] or [name_f]Nola[/name_f]), [name_f]Edith[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Edie[/name_f], family name), [name_f]Althea[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Thea[/name_f]), [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] (nn [name_f]Junie[/name_f])

[name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] [name_f]Edith[/name_f]
[name_f]Edith[/name_f] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]
[name_f]Edith[/name_f] [name_u]Juniper[/name_u]
[name_f]Althea[/name_f] [name_u]Juniper[/name_u]
[name_f]Althea[/name_f] [name_f]Edith[/name_f]
[name_u]Juniper[/name_u] [name_f]Marie[/name_f]
[name_u]Juniper[/name_u] [name_f]Claire[/name_f]

We generally like something not in the top 100 with a fun nickname. We have loved [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] for years but are a bit worried about the HGTV [name_m]Chip[/name_m] and [name_f]Joana[/name_f] [name_m]Gaines[/name_m] association- not necessarily a bad one to us, just the popularity factor. I also love names like [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f], [name_f]Margot[/name_f], [name_f]Isla[/name_f], [name_f]Violet[/name_f], [name_f]Cora[/name_f]. Husband likes even more vintage names than I do and would gladly bring back an old school name. He doesn’t really suggest names but did suggest [name_f]Greta[/name_f] and [name_f]Ada[/name_f] both of which I do like but we both seem to prefer other names.

Open to any suggestions you think would fit our style at this point. Thanks in advance for any feedback!

It seems like [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] is your top choice. [name_m]Even[/name_m] though it has risen in popularity, there aren’t that many girls named [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]. I think it’s probably good that the name will be recognized more easily. (also, I have no idea who [name_m]Chip[/name_m] and [name_f]Joana[/name_f] [name_m]Gaines[/name_m] are). From your list I also like [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] and [name_f]Edith[/name_f] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]

Some other suggestions:
[name_f]Ethel[/name_f]
[name_f]Viola[/name_f]
[name_f]Claudia[/name_f]
[name_f]Lavender[/name_f]
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f]
[name_f]Lillian[/name_f]
[name_f]Posey[/name_f]
[name_f]Judith[/name_f]
[name_f]Esther[/name_f]
[name_f]Margaret[/name_f]
[name_f]Thalia[/name_f]

I love:
[name_f]Magnolia[/name_f][name_f]Edith[/name_f]
[name_f]Edith[/name_f]
[name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]
[name_f]Edith[/name_f][name_u]Juniper[/name_u]
[name_u]Juniper[/name_u]
[name_f]Claire[/name_f]

[name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] [name_f]Edith[/name_f] or [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] are probably my top two

A few other suggestions:

[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] nn [name_f]Ada[/name_f], [name_f]Della[/name_f], [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]
[name_f]Lavinia[/name_f] nn [name_f]Liv[/name_f], [name_f]Lana[/name_f], [name_u]Vinnie[/name_u], [name_f]Vivi[/name_f], [name_f]Nia[/name_f]
[name_f]Amalia[/name_f] nn [name_f]Molly[/name_f], [name_f]Mila[/name_f], [name_f]Marlo[/name_f]
[name_f]Florence[/name_f]/[name_f]Flora[/name_f] nn [name_f]Flo[/name_f], [name_f]Floss[/name_f], [name_f]Flora[/name_f]
[name_f]Olive[/name_f] nn [name_u]Ollie[/name_u], [name_f]Liv[/name_f]
[name_f]Ida[/name_f] (like [name_f]Ada[/name_f] and [name_f]Isla[/name_f]?)

[name_f]Edith[/name_f] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] is my favorite–gorgeous! [name_f]Edie[/name_f] is a cute nickname.

Thank you so much for your feedback! I agree it’s not a totally bad thing about a name becoming more recognizable.
I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] the names you suggested, especially [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] and [name_f]Lydia[/name_f]! My husband actually said he likes [name_f]Lydia[/name_f]!

Thank you! So helpful.

I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] nn [name_f]Ada[/name_f], [name_f]Della[/name_f], [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] and although I have heard the name before and seen it during this search it just wasn’t at the top of my radar for whatever reason. My husband likes it too and actually commented that [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] and [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] would make beautiful names for sisters someday. [name_u]Love[/name_u] that it has options for fun nicknames too!

We both do like [name_f]Ida[/name_f] but there are surprisingly a lot of little [name_f]Ida[/name_f]'s running around our town as it is a well loved/super cute street name in our hip little town. Which is actually really cool!

You have great options. I think my favorite is [name_f]Edith[/name_f] [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] but you really can’t go wrong.

[name_f]Dorothea[/name_f] nn [name_f]Thea[/name_f], [name_f]Dora[/name_f], or [name_f]Dot[/name_f]
[name_f]Eudora[/name_f] nn [name_f]Dot[/name_f] or [name_f]Dora[/name_f]
[name_f]Cornelia[/name_f] nn [name_u]Neely[/name_u]
[name_f]Imogen[/name_f] nn [name_f]Immy[/name_f] or [name_f]Ginny[/name_f]
[name_f]Harriet[/name_f] nn [name_f]Hattie[/name_f]

[name_f]Edith[/name_f] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] (or [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] [name_f]Edith[/name_f] if you’d prefer the family name in the middle) is an absolutely stunning combination. I like both ways equally, I just think they are lovely together.

Thank you! I love the suggestion of [name_f]Eudora[/name_f]. I’ve actually never heard the name before but it does have a beautiful ring to it and for being a less common name is not hard to say/spell! In my head it would pair really nicely with [name_f]Althea[/name_f] for a future sibling if we did end up going that route someday.

Thank you for the support/feedback! We go back and forth depending on the day on which order [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] [name_f]Edith[/name_f] or [name_f]Edith[/name_f] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] should go; good to know we’re not the only ones. We probably will be making a last minute decision. I’m loving all the love for [name_f]Edith[/name_f] on this post. In real life [name_f]Edith[/name_f] doesn’t seem to get the best responses; although in my head a little [name_f]Edie[/name_f] totally fits right in with other popular names right now!

Ohh I also love the suggestion of [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Hattie[/name_f]). [name_f]Hattie[/name_f] has a really fun ring with our last name too; I might have to work on my husband on this one, he doesn’t love it even though it really fits with his “style” even more so than mine typically. I suppose if we end up with an [name_f]Edith[/name_f] ([name_f]Edie[/name_f]), [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] ([name_f]Hattie[/name_f]) would be an awesome future sister if that ever happens! You are all so good at this!

I love [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]. I prefer the flow of [name_f]Edith[/name_f] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] though

I love [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f], [name_f]Althea[/name_f], and [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] but based on the nicknames, my favourites are [name_f]Althea[/name_f] and [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] as I am so smitten with [name_f]Thea[/name_f] and [name_f]Junia[/name_f]! [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] and [name_f]Nola[/name_f] are nice as well but more common over the years. [name_f]Althea[/name_f] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] or [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] are lovely.
