Help picking my first and middle name

Hi, I’m a trans man trying to narrow down a first and middle name. I would love some combination suggestions from the ones I have listed or any new suggestions you think I would like :slight_smile:

My last name is one syllable and starts with W. My ancestry is mostly Dutch, German, and Scottish, and I have wavy brown hair and green eyes. I’m in school for earth sciences and english, and I’m also interested in ancient history and anthropology, ecology, hiking, photography, and movies

I’d prefer a name that isn’t too popular as long as it can be pronounced/spelled. I’m a big fan of names with nature, war, or royal meanings. I also like names from movies/books/shows, as long as it’s a classic or something I loved and the name isn’t too out-there. I love A, C, L, M, and R sounds in names, and I also love names ending in -o, -an/-on, and -or.

Originally I picked the name Roman, but for a while I’ve started feeling like it’s too masculine and pretentious, so I’m looking for something more “soft” sounding. Part of me still likes the name Roman and I’ve also looked at similar names like Ronan and Rowan but Ronan seems easy to misspell and just as pretentious, and Rowan doesn’t sound great with a W last name.

Connor is the only name that made both lists, because it’s what my parents would have named me if I was born a boy so I might like to include it. I’m probably going to have two middle names, with one having a lot more of personal significance to me; I’ve narrowed this one down to either Rainer or Kirk. I’m not fussy about whether this middle name comes first or last.

I’m open to combinations from these lists but any new name ideas including combinations that you like using your own ideas are really welcome! I think I’ve spent too long staring at all these names and it’s making me sick of all of them lol so I would love to hear what others think :slight_smile:

I love the name [name_u]Dorian[/name_u] for you. It has a slightly softer feel than [name_m]Roman[/name_m], is a classic literary name, and has the -an sound you like.

Thank you for the ideas! I like the name [name_u]Dorian[/name_u], I had some preconceptions about it because I used to know someone with that name but it has a really interesting sound and meaning. I love the names [name_u]Connor[/name_u] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_m]Rainer[/name_m] W and [name_m]Vincent[/name_m] [name_m]Rainer[/name_m] [name_u]Sage[/name_u] W! [name_m]Westley[/name_m] [name_m]Llewyn[/name_m] [name_m]Kirk[/name_m] W is also really good, I’m starting to think I wouldn’t mind a W first name with my W last name if I kept a middle initial or both in there all the time. I’ll have to consider the names [name_u]Holden[/name_u] and [name_m]Simon[/name_m] too, I like those a lot!

@Victory55 Thank you for the suggestions! Unfortunately I know a [name_m]Roland[/name_m] so that one is off the table. If I didn’t have a brother with an E name I would consider [name_u]Easton[/name_u] too, maybe I’ll add that to my middle name list. I love [name_u]Nolan[/name_u], [name_u]Landon[/name_u], and [name_u]Nico[/name_u]!
